00:00From Kenya all the way to UK it is a big day. For more than 10 years we've been
00:07working on rescuing a chimpanzee that's partially paralyzed. Monkey World was
00:13contacted first of all by Graziella Cottman who used to work in the Republic
00:20of Congo running a sanctuary called Chimpunga. At that time she received an
00:27infant chimpanzee that she named Chocolaw who had massive wounds to her
00:33head and what had happened is just a story beyond belief. Her parents were
00:39hunted and eaten for bushmeat and the baby clinging to her mother sustained
00:46bullet wounds in her skull. From that point onwards Chocolaw's life was
00:52changed. Chocolaw was handicapped. Those bullets that remain in her head have
00:58paralyzed the right side of her body. Her right hand and her right foot she cannot
01:04use. So it's not possible for Chocolaw to be rehabilitated at an African
01:10sanctuary and put back out into the wild.
