00:00Hey guys, another video for our Wheels in Japan playlist and our mini-series on crazy
00:05drivers in Japan.
00:06So this character's got her phone in one hand and a file in the other hand and she's looking
00:10up some information and she's very very busy doing her office work there.
00:16And she's driving the car.
00:19You'll see she puts the paper down but she keeps the phone in her hand because she hasn't
00:23finished the phone call yet.
00:25Priorities right?
00:26This guy's just surfing the net.
00:28What we actually show you in these videos is like a hundredth or a thousandth of what
00:32we see.
00:33We don't video everybody we see on the phone because we couldn't.
00:36We don't have enough hours in the day.
00:38When we go, I'm going to drive to the supermarket or take the kids somewhere and we'll see a
00:43dozen people doing what she's doing.
00:45The light's gone green.
00:47She should be going but she hasn't noticed it's green.
00:50We don't have to go yet because we're turning right.
00:53But everywhere we go, everywhere we go, they mount them up on the dash and of course if
00:58it's mounted on the dash they can't stop touching it.
01:02You know they're going to do it.
01:03You watch them and you go, this guy's going to touch it.
01:06He's going to touch it.
01:07They can't stop touching it.
01:08This guy's got a screen mounted in front of his steering wheel so he can watch a movie
01:12while he's driving along, which is actually legal in Japan as long as they don't touch
01:15the screen.
01:17So perfectly legal to look at television or videos or internet or whatever you want to
01:23do while you're driving your car in Japan.
01:25They think it's a fabulous thing to do, no problem at all.
01:28The only illegal thing is if you touch the screen, that's illegal while you're driving
01:31the car.
01:32How's this guy?
01:33Look at this guy.
01:34He's got some sort of tablet computer holding it on his steering wheel as he drives the
01:39car and surfs the net or whatever else he's doing there.
01:45On a rainy day as you can see.
01:47Passengers take all these videos by the way.
01:50So it's a rainy day, slippery road, really dangerous, pretty busy intersection that one
01:54too and this character's got his tablet up on his steering wheel and he's looking at
01:59the internet.
02:00It's really scary, isn't it?
02:02It annoys us.
02:03It does annoy us because we've got kids that are out and about, could get pulled over by
02:08one of these guys because as we've told you before, there's a certain number of people
02:12die in Japan every year from the phone zombies driving their cars and they're driving too
02:16closely.
02:17See the big van on the left?
02:19Really close to the guy in front and again, see that all the time too?
02:23He's usually not aggressive, just ignorant.
02:25Oh yeah, this guy, he's something different, like 20 kilometers an hour and that yellow
02:33line there means we can't overtake.
02:35So we just got to sit behind him at 20 kilometers an hour until he's ready to turn off.
02:41That's really common too.
02:43This is funny.
02:44They obviously told the teachers at the high school that they had to stand on the intersection
02:47this day.
02:48You don't normally see them do this, but how disinterested do they look?
02:53And it didn't seem to serve any purpose.
02:55The kids were just doing what they always do and the teachers were just standing there.
02:58This guy didn't even seem interested.
02:59He was looking at something else.
03:04It's funny, isn't it?
03:05More videos coming soon.
