00:00The target of the Department of Agrarian Reform is to divide the 800,000 hectares of land
00:05until the term of the President ends.
00:08This is part of the government's ambition to help farmers and ensure food security in the country.
00:15Kenneth Paciente is in the center of the news.
00:20In the face of the government's efforts to ensure food security in the country,
00:25it does not prevent farmers from working hard to produce food.
00:31According to the Department of Agrarian Reform or DAR,
00:33they have intensified the distribution of land to farmers
00:37under the direction of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
00:41In fact, 69,000 Certificates of Land Ownership Award or CLOA
00:46were distributed to agrarian reform beneficiaries or ARBs in 2023,
00:52while 45,000 land titles were distributed in 2024 alone.
00:57After many years of waiting,
01:01we are with the President in giving these data.
01:07So, if we are with the President and we think we can magic our data,
01:14that's impossible, especially with a very meticulous President like our President.
01:20According to DAR, their target is to distribute 800,000 hectares of land to ARBs
01:27until the term of the President ends.
01:29They should be able to achieve this
01:32because of the efforts of the government's agencies.
01:36All the needs of RODs, LRAs, and DENRs,
01:48they are working together.
01:50That's why the distribution of land titles is faster now.
01:55It was not like that before. It was slow.
01:57Now, it's fast.
01:58And everybody is cooperating.
02:00And that is what happens when we have teamwork in government.
02:04Aside from distributing land to farmers,
02:06the government also took action so that they can pay their debts
02:13after receiving the land from the government.
02:16This became possible after President Marcos Jr. signed the New Agrarian Emancipation Act
02:22in the first year of his term of office.
02:24Condoning the amortization fees that has to be paid by the agrarian reform beneficiaries.
02:33And there is a jewel hidden in this law.
02:38What is it?
02:40The land owners will no longer have to pay the estate tax.
02:49Those who are able to pay the estate tax will be exempted.
02:58The government is also focusing on providing support services to farmers
03:03to ensure that their crops are productive.
03:07Farm equipment is also being distributed to them.
03:10The credit system is being facilitated.
03:12New knowledge on farming is also being distributed to them.
03:16The government is also focusing on ensuring that farmers have access
03:20to the market through farm-to-market roads.
03:24We provide these services so that farmers can bring their products to the market.
03:34Those who are able to afford to buy their crops,
03:41if the roads are not good, they will be poor.
03:45Their expenses will be high.
03:47If there are no roads, they will still have to pay.
03:50They will still be burdened by the people who will carry their crops across the river.
03:57DARA continues to address the issue of land dispute cases
04:01that, according to the agency, is under the control of the Marcos Jr. Administration.
