00:06is expected to return home this week.
00:09This is also followed by the continued attack of Hezbollah and Israeli fighters.
00:14Alan Francisco has the details.
00:20The government does not stop targeting the OFWs
00:24who are attracting attention in Lebanon.
00:26In the Malacanang Insider program,
00:28Migrant Worker Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac said
00:31that since last year,
00:33they have been targeted along with other agencies
00:35of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
00:37targeting the situation of Filipinos there.
00:50More than 11,000 Filipinos in Lebanon
00:52and most of them will be found in Beirut.
00:55Secretary Cacdac also noted that a group of Filipino workers from Lebanon
00:59is expected to return home this week.
01:25The crisis plan of the government is still in place
01:35and their call to the OFWs is to return home.
01:39The absolute ban on the sending of Filipinos to Lebanon is still in place.
01:43The numbers of the OFWs who want to return home
01:46could be contacted by the Philippine Embassy in Lebanon.
01:49Their relatives here in Manila
01:52could be contacted by this number to ask for help from the government.
01:56Meanwhile, Secretary Cacdac also explained
01:59the assistance of Singapore and the Philippines
02:01in strengthening the healthcare system
02:04based on a memorandum of understanding or agreement between the two countries.
02:23should not just entail the rights-based approach
02:27in terms of protecting the rights of workers
02:29but look at market development measures
02:33such as ensuring that there will be no dearth of nurses here
02:38for our very own healthcare system
02:41as we know from the COVID days, COVID years
02:43that we really, really need healthcare workers.
02:46So there are measures to strengthen our labor market
02:49in terms of healthcare workers.
02:51That is why measures such as scholarships
02:54and measures such as partnerships between institutions.
02:57The government's campaign against illegal recruiters continues.
03:01Secretary Cacdac also has advice for Filipinos
03:04so that illegal recruiters will not be victims.
03:07First of all, it's basic that when one recruits online
03:10there's already something wrong there
03:12because somebody's hiding under the shadows
03:15and would not want to be recognized or identified.
03:21A fairly common online illegal recruitment perpetrator
03:26would have a common name.
03:28A common name that is similar to thousands and hundreds of thousands.
03:31So it's very difficult to search for that person online.
03:35Another one is asking for money up front.
03:39It's a very, very distinct badge of illegal recruitment.
03:43The DMW also has a program
03:45to provide free training or skills training
03:48and job matching to OFWs returning home.
