Sang Pencerah

00:07:00Hey, Wiss.
00:07:01I'm going to propose.
00:07:05Fifteen years old.
00:07:08Listen, Wiss.
00:07:10Even if your position is as a leader,
00:07:14you don't necessarily have the power to do anything.
00:07:19You can be opposed.
00:07:22You can be alienated.
00:07:24You can even be crushed by the sultan.
00:07:27Just like your father.

00:08:01It's far away.
00:08:05The situation is already difficult like this.
00:08:09I...
00:08:11I want to go deeper into Islam, Pak D.
00:08:15Go deeper into Islam?
00:08:17How many people in that tribe went to Mecca?

00:08:29If you go back from Mecca,
00:08:31but you don't make any effort,
00:08:33you will be more and more opposed to the office of Narsodalem.
00:08:37What's the difference between you and him?
00:08:39He's crazy.
00:08:40In your tribe,
00:08:41it's safe.
00:08:45Mecca is the center of Islamic knowledge.
00:08:50Many students from Turkey,
00:08:53Egypt, Syria,

00:10:45Allah is great.
00:10:48No partner is greater than Allah.
00:10:51I call upon you, O Allah.
00:10:54I call upon you, O Allah.
00:10:56I call upon you, O Allah.

00:11:15But to whom?
00:11:17For whom?
00:11:18For whom?
00:11:48Where is Allah?
00:11:50Where is Allah?
00:11:52In every creature in the heavens and the earth.
00:11:55In every creature of the universe.
00:11:58In the land, the sea, the water, the air, the sky, and man.

00:12:18Armed Frontiers
00:12:38Darwiz
00:12:40Sir
00:12:43He looks like Darwiz
00:12:48Power!
00:12:52When you come back from Makkah, people usually bring books, but you bring a gun.
00:12:57This is Viola, sir.
00:12:59I got it from the ship with my friends from Bugis.
00:13:01Oh, I see.
00:13:06So, now your name is Ahmad Dahlan.
00:13:11Yes, sir.
00:13:13If you allow me, I will use that name.
00:13:16God willing.
00:13:19Isn't this magazine prohibited, sir?
00:13:21I'm sorry, sir.
00:13:23This magazine was published by Jamaluddin Al-Afghani and Muhammad Abduh,
00:13:27a Muslim innovator from Egypt.
00:13:29His ideas changed the trend of narrow-minded people to Islamists.
00:13:33What?
00:13:34He's back?
00:13:36Yes, he is.
00:13:37And he brought Islam along with the development of the times.
00:13:41So, I think no one is in danger, sir.
00:13:43Yes, but they both lived in Paris when he published that magazine.
00:13:47Their ideas were influenced by the modernists and the Jews.
00:13:51What's important is that all innovations are for the good of the people,
00:13:57not the opposite.
00:14:00God willing.
00:14:02What's going on?
00:14:05I'm so confused.
00:14:08You're smart now.
00:14:11You're a mature woman.
00:14:13When will you get married?
00:14:15While everyone is getting married.
00:14:21Dimas, while you were in the holy land,
00:14:23my sister, Kualita, always read your letters to me.
00:14:27She always thinks and imagines that the letters are for her.
00:14:58In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
00:15:01Amen.
00:15:10The most precious treasure for men in this world
00:15:14is a pure wife.
00:15:28My job is done.
00:15:32From now on,
00:15:34you are in charge of the safety of the family
00:15:38and to spread your religion.
00:15:43I'm placing this barrier
00:15:45for you.
00:15:47Use it wisely.
00:15:58In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
00:16:04I will marry
00:16:06Ahmad Dahlan
00:16:09bin Haji Abu Bakar

00:16:14to the mosque
00:16:16in Raton Ngayo, Jakarta.
00:16:19Amen.
00:16:21Amen.
00:16:25Diya,
00:16:26I want to call Stony.
00:16:51The doorbell rings.
00:16:59The doorbell rings.
00:17:07The doorbell rings.
00:17:09Islam is the religion of the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
00:17:13Islam is the religion of the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
00:17:18Respect those who are below you,
00:17:21be they Muslims or non-Muslims.
00:17:25Respect means to respect,
00:17:28to protect,
00:17:30to make peace,
00:17:31to not be arrogant,
00:17:33to be afraid,
00:17:35to make things complicated and sincere.
00:17:39In the Hadith Qudsi,
00:17:41Allah said,
00:17:43that truly,
00:17:45I am so close to your creation,
00:17:49so pray to me sincerely,
00:17:52and ask for forgiveness.
00:17:54Then I will forgive you.
00:17:58So, in prayer, what is needed is only patience and sincerity,
00:18:02not flattery,
00:18:04imam,
00:18:05recitation,
00:18:06or anything else,
00:18:07but directly to Allah.
00:18:16I thought the message was a good advice.
00:18:29Since his return from the Holy Land,
00:18:32Jamaluddin Afghani and Muhammad Abdul
00:18:35have influenced his thoughts.
00:18:37I do not deny the Hadith Qudsi,
00:18:40but be careful.
00:18:42Something new is yet to be revealed to us.
00:19:13I am going to London.

00:20:19Usually, students study from their teacher.
00:20:24The smart ones will study from their teacher.
00:20:27The students will study from their teacher.
00:20:31The study here is up to you.
00:20:34We'll start with questions.
00:20:37Who wants to ask a question?
00:20:41What is religion?
00:21:04Who wants to ask a question?
00:21:07Who wants to ask a question?

00:22:01Who wants to ask a question?
00:22:05Who wants to ask a question?
00:22:13How are you feeling?
00:22:16I'm lost.
00:22:19And you?
00:22:22I feel like I'm dreaming.
00:22:26It's like all the problems have disappeared.
00:22:34Hey!
00:22:36No, it's okay.
00:23:05Come on, try it.
00:23:07Hold it.
00:23:10I can't.
00:23:11You can.
00:23:12Come on, play it.
00:23:13Here.
00:23:15Come on.
00:23:20Come on.
00:23:30Keep going.
00:23:31Come on.
00:23:32Keep going.
00:23:35No.
00:23:40Keep going.
00:23:41That's great.
00:23:46That's good.
00:23:53How does it feel?
00:23:55It's messy.
00:23:59That's religion.
00:24:01If we don't learn it the right way...
00:24:06...it will ruin our environment...
00:24:11...and become a laughing stock.
00:24:26How many meters is this?
00:24:28It's only a few centimeters.
00:24:32I'll take as much as I can.
00:24:35I'll pray now.
00:24:36Okay.
00:25:29To the East Sea
00:25:55This is to the East Sea, right?
00:25:57Yes, to the east of the sea.
00:25:59Why is the mosque directed to the east of the sea?
00:26:01It's adjusted to this road.
00:26:04So that if you look at it, it's good to look at.
00:26:10Adjusted.
00:26:12Wrong direction.
00:26:14What does it mean?
00:26:17All mosques point straight to the west.
00:26:20Including the big mosque.
00:26:22Some even point to the east of the sea.
00:26:25This is not right.
00:26:27Except for the Panaman Mosque in Kota Kedah.
00:26:30I have also discussed with Mr. Jamil Jambek in Bukit Tinggi.
00:26:34And this is also their problem.
00:26:36We have to correct it.
00:26:38It's easy.
00:26:40It's easy to change the direction of the big mosque.
00:26:43The former chairman must agree.
00:26:45Mr. Chairman.
00:26:47Before we talk to the former chairman.
00:26:49Let's talk to Mr. Lurah Nur.
00:26:52He is the chairman of the big mosque.
00:26:56I'm not sure.
00:26:59I don't know.
00:27:01The big mosque has been standing for more than half a century.
00:27:07Blaming the big mosque for the Kiblah...
00:27:10...is the same as blaming the Kasodan...
00:27:12...as the Caliph of God.
00:27:15I understand.
00:27:18The Caliph is also human.
00:27:20It's not a coincidence.
00:27:23Caliph Uthman bin Affan made a mistake...
00:27:26...and started a civil war.
00:27:31Your opinion must be proven.
00:27:33Where is my son?
00:27:35Who is invited?
00:27:38Many people.
00:27:40Who are they?
00:27:42There is Mr. Lurah.
00:27:44Mr. Muhammad Fakih.
00:27:46Mr. Abdul Hamid Lempuyangan.
00:27:49There is also Mr. Abdullah Siraj Pakualaman.
00:27:52Mr. Abdullah Siraj Pakualaman is also invited?
00:27:56Yes, sir.
00:28:03Kiblah is not about direction.
00:28:07Kiblah is about action.
00:28:11The Caliph of God...
00:28:14...is the same as the Caliph of Allah.
00:28:19The Caliph of God...
00:28:21...is the same as the Caliph of Allah.
00:28:26The Caliph of God...
00:28:28...is not about direction...
00:28:30...but is in the hearts of the people.
00:28:33I agree, Kiyahi.
00:28:36This is only a matter of belief.
00:28:39God is one with his people.
00:28:44Wherever people go...
00:28:46...there is God.
00:28:49If so...
00:28:51...what is the point of the mosque?
00:28:54If...
00:28:56...the Kiblah is wrong...
00:29:00...then what...
00:29:02...makes us believe...
00:29:04...that the Kiblah is right?
00:29:08I agree, Kiyahi.
00:29:10Let's go.
00:29:15Let's go, Kiyahi.
00:29:18Let's go, Kiyahi.
00:29:37Let's go, Kiyahi.
00:30:08When God...
00:30:10...ordered Rasulullah...
00:30:12...to move the Kiblah...
00:30:14...from Al-Aqsa to Al-Haram...
00:30:16...he turned 180 degrees.
00:30:19Do you still believe that the picture is right?
00:30:22The truth is only with God.
00:30:25Man is limited in his actions.
00:30:28Wait a minute.
00:30:30It seems that the picture was made by an infidel.
00:30:35I saw it in the government office.
00:30:39If we direct the Kiblah...
00:30:42...based on that picture...
00:30:44...then we are infidels too.
00:30:51Be careful...
00:30:53...with the infidels and hypocrites.
00:30:56They use all kinds of methods...
00:31:00...to influence our faith.
00:31:04To be continued...
00:31:34Our family is going to be ruined.
00:31:37I don't think it's a good idea.
00:32:04To be continued...
00:32:34To be continued...
00:33:05There are four of them, Kiyahi.
00:33:07Yes, four.
00:33:09Forgive me, Kiyahi.
00:33:11There are a lot of young people in this community.
00:33:15Most of them rob the mosque.
00:33:18Impossible.
00:33:20Impossible for them to do such a thing.
00:33:24Impossible.
00:33:27If they are my students...
00:33:30If they are my students...
00:33:32...I will take action.
00:33:38I'm the one who did it.
00:33:44Me?
00:33:46I'm the one who did it?
00:33:48What do I know about you?
00:33:52I think it's true.
00:33:55What do you mean?
00:33:57I'm the one who did it.
00:34:00I'm the one who did it.
00:34:05You are a murderer.
00:34:07You should be arrested.
00:34:09It's not easy to be a murderer.
00:34:13So, what you are doing...
00:34:16...is humiliating me...
00:34:19...and undermining my religious knowledge.
00:34:22Do you understand?
00:34:24Yes, sir.
00:34:27To be continued...
00:34:58What are you doing here?
00:35:03I saw a young man...
00:35:06...walking along the mosque.
00:35:10This is an insult.
00:35:15Let him go.
00:35:22Forgive me, sir.
00:35:28Your husband has gone too far.
00:35:31If you don't say anything, you are committing a sin.
00:35:35I believe he has a reason for his actions.
00:35:39He is a very careful person.
00:35:42If your husband is careful, he won't fight like a priest.
00:35:47Who are you talking about?
00:35:50My husband, a priest, or you?
00:35:54I don't know who is right.
00:35:57I'm just a woman.
00:35:59It's my duty to follow my husband.
00:36:02That's what's right for me.
00:36:08Let's open the pre-fasting recitation...
00:36:11...by reading Surat Al-Ma'un.
00:36:13It's a letter that discusses...
00:36:16...the importance of taking care of orphans and Muslims.
00:36:20Surat Al-Ma'un is a letter that discusses...
00:36:23...the importance of taking care of orphans and poor people.
00:36:26Forgive me, sir.
00:36:28We've been reading Surat Al-Ma'un four times.
00:36:33But there are only 114 letters in this Al-Quran.
00:36:40How many orphans and poor people have you taken care of, Daniel?
00:36:45Come on, how many?
00:36:50Why do we read so many letters...
00:36:53...just to memorize them?
00:36:57Come on, let's read.
00:36:59Let's do it.
00:37:01We'll open it later.
00:37:07Peace be upon you.
00:37:09Peace be upon you, too.
00:37:11I have the authority to hand this letter to you.
00:37:21Surat Al-Ma'un, Surat Al-Ma'un, Surat Al-Ma'un
00:37:33I can't cover up my mistakes.
00:37:36Please forgive me.
00:37:51Excuse me.
00:37:55Peace be upon you.
00:37:57Peace be upon you, too.
00:37:59Mr. Putan Kiai.
00:38:01My answer is still the same.
00:38:03Give it to him.
00:38:05Kiai.
00:38:07If you don't cover up your mistakes...
00:38:09...you'll be disbanded.
00:38:14That means I've been in the wrong environment.
00:38:21Surat Al-Ma'un, Surat Al-Ma'un, Surat Al-Ma'un
00:38:34Listen up.
00:38:37We must protect the integrity of the mosque.
00:38:41Do you understand?
00:38:43Yes, sir.

00:45:29Oh my God!
00:45:30Masya Allah!
00:45:33Mas!
00:45:35What is this?
00:45:36Are you sure this is Murad Hamid?
00:45:37Of course!
00:45:38Lan!
00:45:43Where are you going?
00:45:45I don't know.
00:45:47Ah!
00:45:48Tom I've been.
00:45:49Shame, good to see you.
00:45:50Long time, no see.
00:45:51Nice to see you.
00:45:52Sit down.
00:45:53Ah, it's all my friend.
00:46:08Shane, good to see you.
00:46:11Long time no see.
00:46:14Good to see you, too.
00:46:19Dimas, Dalan, Dalan is not here.
00:46:24Let's go. Let's go.
00:46:26Dalan, come with me. Let's go.
00:46:28I don't want to go with you, Dalan. Let's go.
00:46:42Dimas! Let's go.
00:46:46Don't force me, Kang.
00:46:48Dalan, your family still needs you.
00:46:52Let's go.
00:46:54There's no place for a person like me in the village.
00:46:57Don't be arrogant.
00:46:59Your family still appreciates you.
00:47:02Your students, too.
00:47:04Don't be arrogant.
00:47:16Dimas, Dalan.
00:47:24Wiss, can you get up?
00:47:29Yes, I can.
00:47:31Let's go.
00:47:39For the sake of Dalan, I want to ask you for a favor.
00:47:43Mule, a good leader in the eyes of God,
00:47:48will never leave his family,
00:47:51let alone his people.
00:48:05Get up, Nagi Langgarmu.
00:48:07It's time to think.
00:48:13This is my savings.
00:48:43More than a century,
00:48:45since the Portuguese ship docked in the Sunda Strait,
00:48:48the Javanese land began its history as an advanced nation.
00:48:54The Dutch government policy
00:48:57created a divide between the British and the Dutch.
00:49:01Ironically,
00:49:03the British regarded it as a social system.
00:49:07Ironically,
00:49:09the Dutch regarded it as a social system.
00:49:13We are a burden to our own country.
00:49:18If we don't start,
00:49:20this country will be destroyed.
00:49:28It's time for us to change.
00:49:37Thank you.
00:49:42As Sheikh Muhammad Abbas said,
00:49:45Islam is a Muslim religion.
00:49:50Islam is closed to the Muslims.
00:49:55Islam is getting further away from the Muslims
00:49:59because it is understood morally.
00:50:03You are a kaffir.
00:50:05You are a kaffir.
00:50:07You are a kaffir.
00:50:09You are a kaffir.
00:50:14I said I would leave the mosque.
00:50:32We must think smartly.
00:50:34We must think smartly.
00:50:36If our nation is united
00:50:38and we fight together,
00:50:40the Dutch will be destroyed.
00:50:43Do you agree?
00:50:45Do you agree?
00:50:47Do you agree?
00:50:49Do you agree?
00:50:51Do you agree?
00:50:53Do you agree?
00:50:55Do you agree?
00:50:57Do you agree?
00:50:59Do you agree?
00:51:01Do you agree?
00:51:04Do you agree?
00:51:10Do you agree?
00:51:12Do you agree?
00:51:18Ameen.
00:51:20Thank you.
00:51:31So now your name is Fahruddin?
00:51:33Yes, Kyi.
00:51:34Danil changed his name to Muhammad Suja.
00:51:38Just like Pak Kyi.
00:51:39After the Hajj, we got a new name certificate.
00:51:47Do you want to eat?
00:51:48Yes, Pak.
00:51:49Du, if you go back to Hajj, do you want to change your name too?
00:51:54God willing, no, Kyi.
00:51:55I will still use the name of the Indonesian brand.
00:51:58God willing, no, Kyi.
00:51:59I will still use the name of my mother's brand.
00:52:02Muhammad Sangidu.
00:52:03Good, good.
00:52:04Very good, Sangidu.
00:52:06Oh, yes.
00:52:08Do any of you know about Budi Utong?
00:52:13Just a little, Pak Kyi.
00:52:16What do you want to do, Kyi?
00:52:18Do you want to join that group?
00:52:21Just like Kyi joined Jameat Khoyar and Syarikat Islam.
00:52:25I don't know yet.
00:52:27Come on, let's drink.
00:52:29Let's drink.
00:52:53Wait here.
00:52:54Wait here.
00:52:56What do you want to drink?
00:52:57This one.
00:53:00Without a group, it's impossible for us to make a change, Kyi.
00:53:06I understand, Kang Mas.
00:53:09Unfortunately, I was not born from an educated family.
00:53:13I'm just a soldier.
00:53:15Soldier or not, it doesn't matter, Kyi.
00:53:19What matters is that we have dreams.
00:53:22Many of the Javanese soldiers are educated.
00:53:24They are still young.
00:53:26But they choose to be the children of the European nation.
00:53:30They are proud to be able to speak Dutch.
00:53:33They make themselves a great unity for their people.
00:53:36By swallowing.
00:53:38But in front of the Dutch,
00:53:40they prostrate themselves.
00:53:43As if they were gods.
00:53:47Come on, Kyi.
00:53:49Let's join.
00:53:51Udi utomo is not a political group.
00:53:55Udi utomo is only for education and health.
00:54:01That's what matters, Kang Mas.
00:54:05The people need our attention.
00:54:21The people need our attention.
00:54:27The people need our attention.
00:54:32The people need our attention.
00:54:35The people need our attention.
00:54:40The people need our attention.
00:54:45Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh, Kang Mas.
00:54:48Waalaikumsalam.
00:54:50What do you want, Kyi?
00:54:54Your brother.
00:54:55Your brother.
00:54:57He's a young man.
00:54:59He's a young man.
00:55:01He's a young man.
00:55:02He's a young man.
00:55:03What's wrong with him?
00:55:07Don't be afraid.
00:55:10Don't be afraid.
00:55:11We are the people.
00:55:13We are the people.
00:55:15We are the people.
00:55:16We are the people.
00:55:19We are the people.
00:55:20We are the people.
00:55:21We are the people.
00:55:22Each of us here is a leader.
00:55:26A leader for the people.
00:55:28That's why we have to be responsible for ourselves and our environment.
00:55:34But one important thing.
00:55:36Not who we are, but how we are for the people.
00:55:43Congratulations.
00:55:44Congratulations.
00:55:49Most of them are from the Kraton family, Kyi.
00:55:55That means they are also Muslims.
00:55:58Yes.
00:56:00But most of them are Muslims because they follow their ancestors.
00:56:04Some of them even changed their religion because of political reasons.
00:56:09Because of business, or because of marriage.
00:56:15If it's possible, I would like to teach Islam at a government school like this one.
00:56:22Take me to the council of teachers.
00:56:25I will tell them about Islamic studies.
00:56:30I don't disagree, Kyi.
00:56:32It's hard to convince the council of teachers who are not Muslims.
00:56:37They still think that Islam is a mystical religion.
00:56:40It's not in line with modern thinking.
00:56:42Give me a day to teach.
00:56:45I will prove that their assumptions about Islam are wrong.
00:56:59Nyonseri Nyai.
00:57:01Kyi, where are you?
00:57:03I'm going to Bali.
00:57:05This morning, Kyi asked me to teach this evening.
00:57:09This morning, Kyi asked me to teach this evening.
00:57:13See you, Nyai.
00:57:15Yes.
00:57:20Sam, where are you going?
00:57:28Kyi, where are you going?
00:57:30I'm going to teach.
00:57:31Kyi, where are you going?
00:57:33I'm going to teach.
00:57:36Since she joined the council of teachers, Kyi rarely teaches.
00:57:41She looks more like an infidel.
00:57:44Let's go.
00:57:46Let's start with the recitation.
00:57:49Cah, recite.
00:57:51I will recite.
00:57:53I will teach.
00:57:55Let's recite.
00:57:57Let's recite.
00:58:01Let's recite.
00:58:20Good morning, children.
00:58:22Good morning, teacher.
00:58:26As I said before,
00:58:29there will be Islamic studies in this school.
00:58:33Therefore, I will introduce the teacher who will teach it.
00:58:37My teacher said, Kyi,
00:58:40you smell. Your feet are wide.
00:58:43You never wear shoes.
00:58:44Please, Kyi.
00:58:59Where are your shoes?
00:59:02I only have one chance, Kyi.
00:59:05God willing.
00:59:07You smell.
00:59:14Bismillahirrahmanirrahim.
00:59:21Peace be upon you.
00:59:28Peace be upon you, too.
00:59:38Peace be upon you, too.
00:59:50Kyi, where are you going?
00:59:52I don't know.
00:59:59Hey, Tevneet.
01:00:01Is there anyone who wants to fart again?
01:00:02I allow it.
01:00:04You.
01:00:06Or you.
01:00:10Be grateful to the one who can fart.
01:00:13Because if we can't fart,
01:00:16our stomachs will swell
01:00:18like
01:00:19the Minister of Health.
01:00:23It's better
01:00:24that after we fart,
01:00:26we say
01:00:27Alhamdulillahirrahmanirrahim.
01:00:30Praise be to God
01:00:32who created a hole in our body.
01:00:35Imagine
01:00:37if God
01:00:38didn't create a hole in our body,
01:00:41where would the wind blow to?
01:00:44It's like this.
01:00:47The wind keeps blowing
01:00:49without a hole.
01:00:51It keeps blowing.
01:00:53Shh.
01:00:54Shh.
01:00:55Shh.
01:00:58Boom!
01:00:59Boom!
01:01:00All of our stomachs come out.
01:01:01Blood,
01:01:02urine, heart,
01:01:03heart, brain
01:01:04all come out.
01:01:06Because we don't have
01:01:07a waste channel.
01:01:12But
01:01:18God loves humans.
01:01:22He created a waste channel
01:01:26so that we can eat as much as we want,
01:01:29drink as much as we want.
01:01:32Therefore,

01:02:31What's wrong with me?
01:02:32Everyone thinks you're an infidel.

01:02:53from our character, Dimas.
01:02:55Do you understand?
01:02:56There are many people in the community
01:02:57who are clearly evil,
01:02:59betraying religion
01:03:00by violating my rules.
01:03:01Why am I the one who is called an infidel?
01:03:03Enough, Lan.

01:04:27I'm sorry.
01:04:44Maybe I'm too easy to look at life
01:04:54so people don't accept it.
01:04:57Life goes on like what we think it will, right?
01:05:01It's not the other way around.
01:05:06Maybe I should act the other way around, Nyai.
01:05:16If that's your choice,
01:05:20then I'll do it.
01:05:27Maybe I won't get to know my husband.
01:05:40Everything is in your hands.
01:05:51There are many young people in this village.
01:05:54They are all pious,
01:05:58Muslim,
01:06:01and even rich.
01:06:05That's what our family is like.
01:06:09We are seen as a poor Muslim family.
01:06:17But Muhammad Darwish is not like most young people.
01:06:24Darwish can see and hear
01:06:28what is not seen and heard by many young people.
01:06:36I don't do Istiqarah like you do.
01:06:48But I pray to Allah
01:06:54because there is no doubt in my heart
01:06:59to choose my husband.

01:11:54Stop nagging.
01:11:55I don't want to see you wear this.
01:12:08Do you want to build a school, Yai?
01:12:11Madrasah is not for you.
01:12:16Why do you wear a table and chair, Yai?
01:12:18This is a madrasah, not a bar.
01:12:25Listen to me, Yai.
01:12:27As far as I know, madrasah is an Islamic school.
01:12:29It's like a train station.
01:12:31It doesn't use a table or a chair.
01:12:33That's it.
01:12:34It will be like a non-Muslim school, Yai.

01:17:16I'm not angry.
01:17:23Now...
01:17:25I understand...
01:17:28what people have been talking about...
01:17:32about Samdayan school.
01:17:35What's wrong with my school?
01:17:39Of course you know the meaning of...
01:17:42Madrasah Ibtidakiyah Diniyah Islam.
01:17:48If I didn't know, I wouldn't have used that name.
01:17:50If you knew, why did you use...
01:17:52the tools of the infidels?
01:17:57What tools?
01:17:58This.
01:18:01Look.
01:18:02Look at this.
01:18:04This.
01:18:07And this.
01:18:08All of this was made by the infidels.
01:18:20Mr. Apuntan Kiai.
01:18:22Can I ask you a question?
01:18:23Go ahead.
01:18:25Why did you come from Magelang to Kauan Wan?
01:18:29Are you on a pilgrimage?
01:18:30Yes, I am.
01:18:35I don't want to torture my body...
01:18:39from Magelang to Jogja...
01:18:41on foot.
01:18:42Then, how do you get there?
01:18:44I take a train.
01:18:46I'm not stupid.
01:18:49Only stupid people...
01:18:51who want to go to Jogja from Magelang...
01:18:53on foot.
01:18:57If that's the case...
01:18:59only stupid people...
01:19:01call this school an infidel school.
01:19:06Because the train...
01:19:08was made by the infidels.
01:19:17Let's go.
01:19:19Let's go.
01:19:30KAUAN WAN
01:19:40You call this Islam?
01:19:46Mr. Apuntan Kiai.
01:19:49Which part of me is simple?
01:19:51You...
01:19:53You forbid people to perform Yassinan and Tagnan.
01:19:57I don't forbid it.
01:20:00Every letter in the Quran...
01:20:02has its own meaning.
01:20:04But it's not for worship.
01:20:08If we only read Yassin...
01:20:10and then add up the other letters...
01:20:13I'm afraid it will diminish the meaning of the other letters.
01:20:17Maluk Tahlin.
01:20:18Why are you forbidding him?
01:20:21The Messenger of Allah...
01:20:22commands people to perform Zikr...
01:20:24to always remember his Asmah.
01:20:27But is the Messenger of Allah...
01:20:29forcing us to do it together?
01:20:32What's more, you speak so loudly...
01:20:34that it disturbs the neighbors.
01:20:45Slow down or speak louder.
01:20:48Indeed, Allah knows...
01:20:50every human heart.
01:20:53Do you know the impact of your teaching...
01:20:55on humanity?
01:20:59It will make Islam easier.
01:21:05Religion is not a series of rules...
01:21:08that can be simplified or complicated.
01:21:14Religion is a process.
01:21:18Like the morning air that we breathe...
01:21:20slowly into our bodies.
01:21:23It refreshes our hearts and minds.
01:21:28Imagine the morning air that we breathe.
01:21:32Our bodies are not only destroyed...
01:21:35but also destroyed and powerless.
01:21:38We are led in an uncertain direction.
01:21:44Are we willing...
01:21:46to see our people giving up...
01:21:48and running away from religion?
01:21:52Just because we misunderstand?
01:22:23The Prophet Muhammad once said...
01:22:26that Islam exists in a foreign land...
01:22:30and will return to that foreign land.
01:22:34Those foreign people are lucky...
01:22:37because they are the ones...
01:22:39who clean up everything that is wrong.
01:22:42I will always be there to protect you.
01:22:45Me too, Mr. Kiai.
01:22:47Me too, Kiai.
01:22:49Me too, Kiai.
01:22:50Me too.
01:22:51Me too, Kiai.
01:22:52Me too, Kiai.
01:22:53Even though my mother is angry...
01:22:55I will still support you, Kiai.
01:22:57Oh, my.
01:23:22When we are criticized...
01:23:25we can't answer back.
01:23:29When we are criticized...
01:23:32we can't answer back.
01:23:36When we are cursed...
01:23:40we can't answer back.
01:23:52I heard that you have a surah school in your village.
01:23:55Yes.
01:23:56Can I join you?
01:23:57Of course.
01:23:58I want to learn more about Islam.
01:24:01Of course.
01:24:02I'd love to.
01:24:03I want to join you.
01:24:04I want to join you.
01:24:05Of course.
01:24:06Thank you, sir.
01:24:07You're welcome.
01:24:10My name is Farudin.
01:24:11I'm a student of Kiai Zahilan.
01:24:14I want to ask you to be my teacher.
01:24:18Really?
01:24:19Yes.
01:24:20I hope it will be useful.
01:24:23Thank you, sir.
01:24:24You're welcome.
01:24:49I want to ask you to be my teacher.
01:24:51Really?
01:24:53Yes.
01:24:55Asia.
01:24:57Asia.
01:24:59Europe.
01:25:00This one is the biggest.
01:25:02Asia.
01:25:05I have decided to form a group...
01:25:08according to Allah's command in Surah Al-Imran, verse 104.
01:25:12And let not your people go astray,
01:25:16and enjoin what is right,
01:25:19and forbid what is wrong.
01:25:21Those will be the successful.
01:25:25I agree, Kiai.
01:25:28I know that the verse is meaningful.
01:25:31And let there be among you a group of people...
01:25:35who do good and leave evil.
01:25:42Shh.
01:25:44I don't understand, Kiai.
01:25:47What is the purpose of forming a group?
01:25:49Is it because we don't have enough food?
01:25:54Food is for worship.
01:25:57A group is for our social activities.
01:26:00Yes, but we have to deal with the Dutch government, Kiai.
01:26:06A group needs a residence permit.
01:26:10Yes.
01:26:13It must be difficult to get a residence permit, Kiai.
01:26:19So, we need some conditions to form a group.
01:26:25First, there must be a leader.
01:26:29Second, the name of the group...
01:26:32and the purpose of the group.
01:26:37I have gathered the leaders.
01:26:40They are my students from Langgar and Quek School.
01:26:46Quek School students cannot be leaders, Kiai.
01:26:50They cannot be allowed by the Inspector General.
01:26:55You should choose an adult and mature leader.
01:27:01I'm sure there are many young people in the village.
01:27:07Budi Utomo will help.
01:27:09The condition is...
01:27:11all the leaders must be members of Budi Utomo.
01:27:19Don't worry, Kiai.
01:27:27If we become members of Budi Utomo...
01:27:33do we have to go to Java?
01:27:40We can have principles...
01:27:43as long as we are not fanatics.
01:27:45Because fanatics are stupid.
01:27:50As Muslims, we have to show...
01:27:53that we can cooperate with anyone...
01:27:56as long as...
01:27:58we are supported by the leader.
01:28:01Your religion is your religion.
01:28:03My religion is my religion.
01:28:20So, what is the name of our group, Kiai?
01:28:23Sang Hidu gave the name Muhammadiyah to our group.
01:28:28I have performed Istiqoroh prayer...
01:28:30and I agree with that name.
01:28:32Muhammadiyah.
01:28:35Isn't it like a female name, Kiai?
01:28:37No, Din.
01:28:38In our tribe, we call it Nuriyah...
01:28:41which is taken from the name of Muhammad Nur's leader.
01:28:44So, Nuriyah means follower of Nur.
01:28:47So, if the name is Muhammadiyah...
01:28:49it means follower of Prophet Muhammad.
01:28:52Follower of Prophet Muhammad.
01:28:54What do you think?
01:28:55Do you agree?
01:28:56I agree.
01:28:57Okay.
01:28:58God willing, I agree.
01:29:00What do you think, Kiai?
01:29:03If we all become the leaders of the group...
01:29:08will we get the reward?
01:29:11Yes.
01:29:14I hope...
01:29:16Muhammadiyah can become a group...
01:29:19that is truly for the sake of the people...
01:29:22not for personal gain.
01:29:33Live your life, Muhammadiyah.
01:29:36Don't look for life in Muhammadiyah.
01:29:39God willing.
01:29:42All the members of Muhammadiyah...
01:29:46follow the example of Rasulullah.
01:29:50God willing, Kiai.
01:29:52They can be trusted...
01:29:55and respected...
01:29:57and open...
01:29:59to anyone.
01:30:02God willing.
01:30:15God willing.
01:30:17All the members of Muhammadiyah...
01:30:20follow the example of Rasulullah.
01:30:32I have a request.
01:30:36I have a request.
01:30:38What is it?
01:30:41I want to ask the people...
01:30:46I want to ask the people...
01:30:49if Muhammadiyah...
01:30:51can become the leader of the group.
01:30:56I want Muhammadiyah...
01:30:58to become the leader of the people.
01:31:01That is my request.
01:31:05I have a request.
01:31:10Muhammadiyah...
01:31:13I have a request.
01:31:15I want Muhammadiyah...
01:31:17to spread the faith of the people.
01:31:20Yes.
01:31:22I understand.
01:31:26But...
01:31:28I don't want to wait.
01:31:31I want the people...
01:31:33to follow the example of Muhammadiyah.
01:31:36God willing.
01:31:38God willing.
01:31:43Residence?
01:31:48The land has become a residence?
01:31:51How can it become a residence?
01:31:57How can this happen?
01:32:01This is wrong.
01:32:03This is wrong.
01:32:05The land has been taken away from the office.
01:32:07The land has been taken away from the office.
01:32:09The government and the sultan...
01:32:12have joined forces...
01:32:15to conquer the land as a residence.
01:32:17Isn't that right?
01:32:19Isn't that right?
01:32:22That's right.
01:32:25If Muhammadiyah becomes the leader of the people...
01:32:28he will spread the modern understanding...
01:32:30of the infidel.
01:32:33And that is against Islam.
01:32:36Isn't that right?
01:32:39How?
01:32:41So...
01:32:43should I...
01:32:46allow...
01:32:48a request...
01:32:50for the establishment of a gathering of Muhammadiyah?
01:32:55Summon my servant, Kutirjo.
01:32:57Tell him to meet me now.
01:33:03Yes.
01:33:05I have received the message.
01:33:07I will go now.
01:33:09I will go now.
01:33:15I will leave everything to you...
01:33:18as a member of the inner court.
01:33:29Very well.
01:33:32As a member of the inner court...
01:33:36I do not accept...
01:33:39a request...
01:33:42for the establishment of a gathering of Muhammadiyah.
01:33:44I do not accept...
01:33:45a request for the establishment of a gathering of Muhammadiyah.
01:34:14Muhammadi!
01:34:16Waar are you going?

01:34:43Ma!
01:34:45You're a coward!
01:34:47You're a coward!
01:34:48You should've been killed once!

01:34:51I'm sorry, Ma.
01:34:52You should've been killed!
01:34:57Let's go!
01:34:58Let's go!
01:34:59Wait!
01:35:00What are you doing?
01:35:02What are you doing?

01:35:11If you want to be an infidel,
01:35:13don't ask for my permission!
01:35:15You're a hypocrite!
01:35:16Stay there!
01:35:17Stay there!
01:35:18Hey!
01:35:19What are you doing?
01:35:21If you want to fight,
01:35:23one of you has to surrender!
01:35:26We can only fight with infidels.
01:35:28He's the infidel!
01:35:29Stay there!
01:35:30You're also an infidel if you ask for someone's permission.
01:35:32Do you understand?
01:35:34Idiot!
01:35:40Idiot!
01:35:47They're all cowards, Kiai.
01:36:04Peace be upon you.
01:36:07Peace be upon you, too.
01:36:21We're family.
01:36:24We shouldn't hate each other
01:36:26because we're defending our own ideas.
01:36:30Each of us has a responsibility
01:36:32to be the best person in the eyes of God.
01:36:40But should family unity be sacrificed?
01:36:47I have no intention to sacrifice anyone, Kang.
01:36:50I respect anyone who has a different opinion from me.
01:37:13I'm a witness to your family's unity.
01:37:18This barrier is the lowest form of power.
01:37:24It destroys everything.
01:37:29Whatever the reason,
01:37:33wherever it is, humans can destroy.
01:37:36Not just this barrier.
01:37:41Whatever it is, humans always have the power to control it.
01:37:46They don't want to be blamed.
01:37:55You know what's best for us.
01:37:59You know that.
01:38:10Don't think that I hate you.
01:38:15You're my brother.
01:38:20My family.
01:38:24Peace be upon you.
01:38:27Peace be upon you, too.
01:38:46Peace be upon you, too.

01:38:52Zainab!
01:38:53Come home, Zainab!

01:39:02Mom!
01:39:03Come home!
01:39:04Mom!
01:39:05I'm taking my daughter, Zainab, home.
01:39:07I want to study here.
01:39:09Zainab, your father wants to see you.
01:39:11You can study at your father's place.
01:39:13Mom!
01:39:14Zainab, come home!
01:39:15Mom!
01:39:16Your father wants to see you.

01:39:40Mom!
01:39:41Mom!
01:39:44Mom!
01:40:00Mother watches over us.
01:40:03We must respect her.
01:40:07I understand.
01:40:09But I would like to ask you to allow me to stay here for a while.
01:40:17What? Stay here?
01:40:21You want me to stay here for a while?
01:40:29Dahlan used to be the head of Masjid Besar.
01:40:34If Dahlan becomes a resident,
01:40:37then he becomes the ruler of Islam Muhammadiyah,
01:40:41the Muslim community,
01:40:43and also the president of Yogyakarta.
01:40:46So what?
01:40:48If people no longer follow my order
01:40:52as the head of Masjid Besar.
01:40:55Manggirumin, resident.
01:40:59Who wants to be a resident?
01:41:03Look, who else?
01:41:07Dahlan wants to be a resident.
01:41:20Dahlan introduced himself as a president,
01:41:24not a resident.
01:41:26A president is the head director.
01:41:30Do you understand?
01:41:33Yes.
01:41:54Panjenengan is the leader of religion,
01:41:58the leader of the community.
01:42:03He must be wise and knowledgeable.
01:42:34I don't know what to do.
01:42:40I don't even know what to say.
01:42:53If you don't like to speak,
01:42:56you don't have to force it.
01:42:58I will stay here with Panjenengan.
01:43:07We are both Muslims.
01:43:14We are brothers.
01:43:20That's right, Jai.
01:43:23That's right, Jai.
01:43:28Don't we have to remember each other?
01:43:33Sometimes people choose to protect their values
01:43:39rather than asking what values they have for themselves.
01:43:44That's right, Jai.
01:43:51I'm not one of those people.
01:43:57Then what is all this for?
01:44:05For us to heal.
01:44:10It's our duty in this world
01:44:12to be a leader for ourselves
01:44:19before we lead others.
01:44:27When we lead others,
01:44:32we forget to ask ourselves
01:44:35if we are capable of leading ourselves.
01:44:43Every human being has the right to be true.
01:45:00We each do our part
01:45:04to protect our religious values.
01:45:09The truth is in God's hands.
01:45:13Humans like us
01:45:16are only clever.
01:45:39Today,
01:45:42we learn together
01:45:45to be the best in God's eyes.
01:45:52Not just for ourselves,
01:45:56but for the interests of many.
01:46:04Life is short
01:46:07and only once.
01:46:12Use it not only for your own interest,
01:46:18but also for the interests of others.
01:46:25God willing, this will be fulfilled.
01:46:28Amen.
01:46:32Even though the official letter of the founding of the congregation has not been sent down,
01:46:38but today
01:46:41I declare it as the birthday of Muhammadiyah.
01:46:46O Allah,
01:46:49show me the straight path.
01:46:52That is the path that You have blessed.
01:46:56Not the path of those You have forsaken.
01:47:01Amen.
01:47:03Amen.

01:51:22My God is always living in your heart
01:51:31He loves and answers all your problems
01:51:44He listens, sees, and always adores
01:51:56Warming hell in your heart

01:52:14Be grateful without knowing the time
01:52:20Surrender, be sincere
01:52:26Surrender only to Him
01:52:32His love is the answer
01:52:42Because God is great love
01:52:48Because God is great love
01:52:54My God is always living in your heart
01:53:10He loves and answers all your problems
