00:00Prime Minister Ishaq Dara to address the public.

00:02Alhamdulillah, we have reached within weeks a point where it is seamless facility to the

00:12general public.

00:13And in the past, you know what used to happen, that first the station is in the foreign office,

00:20then it goes to some 150 dollars, in some foreign embassy, in which country the documents

00:26had to go.

00:27If you send it to the UK, it is the same, if you send it to Italy, it is the same.

00:33But after that, again, in the host country, Italy, UK, wherever, the document had to land,

00:38then from there, again, you know, verification.

00:41It was a very lengthy process and very cumbersome and also expensive, because free is a normal

00:49cost recovery process.

00:51But there, 100 dollars means 30,000 rupees.

00:56So coming to the facility, you all know that it is Hague Convention, known as the Apostle

01:03Convention.

01:04Government of Pakistan joined it on 31st March 2022 and it became this convention into force

01:14Pakistan.

01:15Obviously, there is a legislative work to be done, National Assembly or Senate pass

01:33it, inshallah, it will be done on time.

01:53So, initially, we thought that, you know, it is a modern time, people can go on the

02:20internet, so we have very smart guys in this country to make you, your work difficult.

02:31So, there was a crisis.

02:43My colleagues and team came running, so those slots were very heavily sold.

02:51We were talking only last few weeks, so we luckily got hold of a few culprits who were

03:07doing this job.

03:09So, we handed them over to law enforcing agencies, but as luck would have it, that was not a

03:16very successful experience.

03:17So, when I met them, we said, let's do it this way, let's do a walk-in, so we started

03:24the walk-in system.

03:25So, 2,000-4,000 people got together here, in Lahore, in Karachi, there was an emergency

03:33situation, so we had to call the law enforcing agencies again.

03:37So, that was also a strange experience.
