Protestors clashes with Police in Chicago after flag burning

Police and protesters scuffled outside the Israeli consulate in Chicago on Tuesday (August 20), as delegates formally nominated U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic Party's nominee for president at the nearby Democratic National Convention.

Dressed in helmets and holding batons, police pushed protesters away from the consulate, two miles (3.2 km) from the United Center where the convention is being held. Police were seen making several arrests.

Protests against the U.S. support for Israel's war in Gaza have overshadowed the convention, where most of the speakers have avoided the topic.
