01:27So, Lapay Bantigue is a kind of dance that originates from Bantigue,

01:34So, what Lapay Bantigue means is the dance of birds or Lapay,
01:38seagulls.
01:39Because their story, the origin of Lapay Bantigue is
01:43while fishermen are resting on the island of Basbate,
01:47they can see the Lapay flying, the fish swimming.
01:51So, it's a way of imitating the movements of Lapay birds
01:58that originate from Bantigue, on the island of Basbate.

02:09Our family, on my father's side, is artistically inclined.
02:13I have relatives who are artists, visual artists.
02:16So, I was the one who was drawn to performing arts.
02:20Initially, we only dance when required in school,
02:24when there's a field demo.
02:26My love for folk dance started in 2015
02:29when we had an event in Taytay where we were invited.
02:32And since then, our whole group got to know the culture of the Philippines
02:37that we still promote to this day.
