One in four Aussies in 'childcare deserts' missing out

00:00where you live matters when it comes to accessibility to childcare.
00:03What we found was that inner metropolitan areas had much better accessibility to childcare
00:08than other metropolitan areas, and metropolitan areas overall had much, much better access
00:12than regional areas.
00:15And there was a really strong finding there that regional areas actually had the lowest
00:20levels of accessibility.
00:21All right, so this is a map of childcare accessibility for Sydney.
00:26The blue areas have greater levels of childcare access, and the red areas have lower levels.
00:31And what you kind of get is you can see in the, you know, closer to the CBD, and probably
00:36in the more advantaged areas, it's blue, there's more childcare available.
00:40And as you go further out, you get less and less.
