00:00Good morning to all of you, and here is our weather update for August 21, 2024.
00:08In our latest satellite images, we can see that the southwest monsoon, or Hanging Habagat,
00:14is having an effect, particularly here at the tip of our country.
00:18It has almost no effect on our rivers.
00:22Meanwhile, the low-pressure area that we monitored yesterday,
00:25is outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
00:28It also has no effect on our country.
00:30And even until now, there is still a small chance that this will become a typhoon.
00:33So for now, the easterlies, or the wind that blows from the Pacific Ocean,
00:38from the east, is the one that has the most effect,
00:41particularly here in the area of the eastern Visayas,
00:45as well as the eastern Mindanao.
00:46So today, we are hoping that a large part of our rivers will experience generally fair weather.
00:52It will still be hot and sunny, especially in the area of Luzon,
00:56while there is a high chance of rain,
00:58lightning and thunderstorms in the afternoon until the evening,
01:01followed by localized thunderstorms.
01:03We can also see that until the end of this week,
01:06on Fridays, the Hanging Habagat will continue to be weak,
01:10and it is possible that it will return by the weekend,
01:13by Sunday, and this will have an effect in the area of Mindanao.
01:16So generally, until the end of this week,
01:18for the upcoming long weekend,
01:20fair weather in a large part of our country,
01:23there is still a small chance,
01:24or we don't see a small possibility of having a typhoon in the next few days.
01:30Here in Luzon, we can see that a large part of Luzon
01:34will experience a hot and sunny afternoon,
01:36while there is a high chance of rain in the afternoon until the evening.
01:40So let's be careful and be prepared for the possible localized thunderstorms.
01:44And because we will experience a hot and sunny afternoon,
01:46we will experience a high temperature outside,
01:48which is 26 to 33 degrees Celsius.

01:53while in Baguio, up to 25 degrees Celsius.

02:00In Tagaytay, 23 to 32 degrees Celsius,
02:03while in Legazpi, 27 to 33 degrees Celsius.
02:07And a large part of Palawan will experience isolated rain showers and thunderstorms,
02:12high temperatures in Calayaan Islands, 26 to 32 degrees Celsius,
02:16while in Puerto Princesa, up to 33 degrees Celsius.
02:19We will experience isolated rain showers and thunderstorms here in our country,
02:24in the area of Visayas.
02:26High temperatures in Iloilo, 25 to 33 degrees Celsius,
02:30in Cebu, up to 32 degrees Celsius,
02:32while in Tacloban, 27 to 33 degrees Celsius.
02:36A large part of Mindanao will experience rainfall,
02:41from dusk to dusk,
02:44especially in the eastern section of Mindanao, the Caragat-Davao region,
02:48where there is a high chance of rain,
02:51followed by localized thunderstorms,
02:53from dusk to dusk,
02:55with heavy rainfall from dusk to dusk.
02:57High temperatures in Zamboanga, 24 to 33 degrees Celsius,
03:01in Cagayan de Oro, 25 to 32 degrees Celsius,
03:04while in Davao, 25 to 33 degrees Celsius.
03:08As of now, there are still no gale warnings in any part of our country.
03:13This means that ships and small boats have sailed
03:17in the bays of our islands.
03:20Meanwhile, our day is popular at 5.43 a.m. and sunset,
03:25until 6.15 p.m.
