Five Sisters Zoo welcomes Baloo the Asiatic Black Bear

Five Sisters Zoo are delighted to welcome a new arrival this week. Baloo, the Asiatic Black Bear who was due to become the companion of Yampil, has arrived at Five Sisters Zoo to his new home in the one-of-a-kind Asiatic Black Bear enclosure, built through the support of fans worldwide after the zoo welcomed Yampil in January of this year. While losing Yampil in July was devastating for the team at Five Sisters Zoo and all who had heard his story and supported his rescue, it had always been the plan to welcome Baloo as a companion for Yampil and everyone is excited to see Baloo settle into his new home in Scotland.

00:12Baloo was originally supposed to be a companion for Yample the Asiatic black bear that was of course rescued from Ukraine
00:19Sadly Yample did die and just just shortly before we were able to welcome him into this particular enclosure, but we were still
00:27Delighted to have Baloo join us and just at the weekend there and we're thrilled that he's getting on so so well
00:34You can see him just climbing about and having the absolute time of his life in there at the moment
