London Zoo’s annual weigh-In: 14,000 animals to be measured

It’s a big day for animals at the London Zoo as the annual weigh-in for vital statistics takes place.
Out of the zoo's 14,000 animals, around 400 were weighed.
"Getting them to step onto a scale individually can be hard work," said Angela Ryan, Head of Zoological Operations at London Zoo.
The weigh-in happens every year, with the data shared with zoos worldwide and conservationists who use it to help track animals in the wild.

00:00Today's the annual weigh-in, where we gather information to share with zoos worldwide on

00:42We can learn a lot from an animal's weight. It's general health, but one thing that we
00:46really like to look forward to is the potential of pregnancies. Being a conservation zoo, being
00:51involved in so many conservation breeding programs, having critically endangered pregnant
