00:00:00Another terrific half-time show ladies, thank you so much.
00:00:28They always put on a great one, don't they fellas?
00:00:30Alright, our judges and I are going to be back on the court in a few moments.
00:00:36And remember guys, we have a big championship right here on the court next Saturday.
00:00:42And if I was you, I'd think it was really early in the morning.
00:00:44Brooke, why did you deliberately block her? You knew Megan was supposed to have the last tumble.
00:00:50Look, I'm really sorry Coach Hanley. I just didn't want her to mess it up.
00:00:54And how many times have I told you not to primp in front of the crowd? Hand it over.
00:01:00I'm sorry, you know what, you're right, I don't need it.
00:01:04But I mean, you could really use some help. So here, take this.
00:01:08And this.
00:01:10Do you see how the lip color matches my nail polish?
00:01:24What the hell did they do?
00:01:28Lorraine, enough's enough. I quit.
00:01:32I quit.
00:01:34And now, here they are, back again on the court, all joining in for a big round of applause.
00:02:00Welcome to Jackson High.
00:02:02Hi.
00:02:04Your college professors have given you glowing praises.
00:02:06I have to give you a hug.
00:02:08Oh, you are my fairy godmother.
00:02:10To teach and coach, this is a dream job.
00:02:12Jumping in in the middle of the semester is going to be a challenge.
00:02:14I'm up for it.
00:02:16Well, the squad is practicing right now.
00:02:18Shall we meet them?
00:02:20I'd love to.
00:02:22Okay.
00:02:24Come on, girls. Nice.
00:02:30These girls are really talented.
00:02:32They can fling themselves around, all right.
00:02:34Kick it!
00:02:36Nice.
00:02:38Hey, BLT.
00:02:40Hey, BLT. That's my nickname.
00:02:42Blazing Lorraine Tippett.
00:02:44We're all about girl power, aren't we, ladies?
00:02:46So let's see.
00:02:48This is Brooke, Jerry, Lisa, Tabitha, Ashley.
00:02:52Wait, you'll never remember all these names.
00:02:54Let me just introduce you.
00:02:56This is Emma Carr.
00:02:58She's taking over Ms. Hanley's world geography class.
00:03:00She's also your new cheerleading coach.
00:03:02Hi, Ms. Carr.
00:03:04Oh, it's nice to meet you.
00:03:06You ladies will be happy to know that Coach Carr has extensive cheerleading experience.
00:03:08Our last coach didn't know the difference
00:03:10between a herky and a hurdler.
00:03:12Well, I do.
00:03:14And that was a difficult reload you guys pulled off.
00:03:16Who choreographed that?
00:03:18That would be me.
00:03:20I'm impressed.
00:03:22Well, I see that you all are in good hands.
00:03:24I've got a meeting with the superintendent.
00:03:26Oh, Mom.
00:03:28Say hi to Superintendent Tompkins for us.
00:03:30Okay.
00:03:32Principal Tippett is your mom?
00:03:34Yeah.
00:03:36It's a curse I've learned to bear.
00:03:38Can I see what you guys were doing?
00:03:40Sure.
00:03:50Hi.
00:03:58Hi.
00:04:00I'm Emma Carr.
00:04:02I'm taking over Ms. Hanley's class.
00:04:04Nice to meet you.
00:04:06It's nice to meet you.
00:04:08Hey.
00:04:10Adam Ream.
00:04:12Tennis coach.
00:04:14A little U.S. history on the side.
00:04:16Oh, tennis coach.
00:04:18Another sacrifice.
00:04:20Have you had a Fab Five encounter yet?
00:04:22A Fab Five?
00:04:24Oh.
00:04:26Yeah, Fab Five.
00:04:28Satan's cheerleaders.
00:04:30I'm kidding.
00:04:32This is Helen Durant, the other world geography teacher.
00:04:34I'm sorry.
00:04:36Carr. Nice to meet you.
00:04:38Cheerleading coach.
00:04:40Wow, look how young she is.
00:04:42Are you going to start a pool?
00:04:44I think it's a must.
00:04:46She's been out for four weeks.
00:04:48I'm going to give her five.
00:04:50But you guys are betting on how long I'm going to last?
00:04:52Nothing personal, honey.
00:04:54But those cheerleaders have been through four coaches already this year.
00:04:56Yeah.
00:04:58And the last one lasted, what, three weeks?
00:05:00So actually, we're being very generous
00:05:02in our expectations of you.
00:05:04Why don't I get in on that pool?
00:05:06Hey, how'd it go?
00:05:08Well, I only saw them for a couple minutes.
00:05:10But what I did see, Tim,
00:05:12they were good.
00:05:14They were really sloppy.
00:05:16They had no polish.
00:05:18But I have some incredible athletes to work with.
00:05:20That's great.
00:05:22So, no regrets moving here, huh?
00:05:24Well, I miss my mom.
00:05:26I miss my morning runs with Heather.
00:05:28I miss my dad.
00:05:30I miss my mom.
00:05:32I miss my dad.
00:05:34I miss my morning runs with Heather.
00:05:36I miss us going to church with John and Anita.
00:05:38Do you want to head back home?
00:05:40No.
00:05:42I want to see my husband
00:05:44get his master's degree.
00:05:48Then what did you have planned?
00:05:50Maybe make my mama a grandmama.
00:05:54Why don't you take that coat off?
00:05:56Why don't you?
00:06:04Why don't you?
00:06:06Why don't you?
00:06:08Why don't you?
00:06:10Why don't you?
00:06:12Why don't you?
00:06:14You know, I am totally spanked.
00:06:16I do not want to do Reeves' class today.
00:06:18Let's just ditch.
00:06:20I'm down.
00:06:22I'm not ditching.
00:06:24I can deal with Coach Reeves anytime, any day.
00:06:26Look, I took this picture of him yesterday.
00:06:28Lisa, what are you, his stalker girl?
00:06:30Shut up. He's hot.
00:06:32Even if his ex-girlfriend was on fire,
00:06:34he still wouldn't be hot.
00:06:36You're just jealous.
00:06:38You know what?
00:06:40Please stop drooling.
00:06:42You're going to get my shoes wet.
00:06:44Let's go.
00:06:46Bye, guys.
00:06:48Hold up.
00:06:50I thought we were ditching.
00:06:52Look, I'm trying my paper in first.
00:06:54It's perfect. I'm not going to let him take any points off.
00:06:56Are you serious?
00:06:58I'm serious.
00:07:00Here's my paper. On time.
00:07:02You know, again, I'm really sorry
00:07:04I can't stay for class.
00:07:06I'm certain you can, Brooke.
00:07:08Go sit down.
00:07:10Wait, I thought you knew.
00:07:12Cheerleading trials are next week,
00:07:14and Coach Carr asked me to help her put together a schedule.
00:07:16She told me this morning she was on her way to put a note in your box.
00:07:18Well, there was no note in my box,
00:07:20so go sit down.
00:07:22You know what? It's probably there right now.
00:07:24I'll go get it.
00:07:26Oh, and you know, Jerry's supposed to go with me, too.
00:07:28Well,
00:07:30aren't you going with them?
00:07:32No.
00:07:34I'm staying here.
00:07:36With you.
00:07:50That'd be so cool.
00:07:52Oh, Brooke.
00:07:56So, we saw in one of your magazines
00:07:58you can apply to be cheerleader of the month
00:08:00and actually get on the cover and everything.
00:08:02Oh.
00:08:04Uh, yeah, you can.
00:08:06You can get more than that, though. You get scholarship money.
00:08:08You girls should apply. I'll write you a letter of recommendation.
00:08:10You know what? I bet if I was on the cover of Cheerleading Today,
00:08:12the USC songgirls would totally take me.
00:08:14You want to be a songgirl?
00:08:16That's great. I mean, I've seen them before, and they're amazing.
00:08:18I know, and you know what?
00:08:20They also live in L.A., which is where my dad lives.
00:08:22She keeps begging him to let her go live with him,
00:08:24but he doesn't have room because he's got this new kid, and...
00:08:26Excuse me.
00:08:28My dad cannot wait for me to get out there.
00:08:30You know, he said if I get into USC,
00:08:32he's going to add a room onto his house just for me.
00:08:34Wait.
00:08:36Why aren't you girls in your third period?
00:08:38Oh, good. You thought I was going early.
00:08:40We just wanted to come here and help you schedule practice and tryouts.
00:08:42I mean, you said you wanted to give us some individual help, so...
00:08:44Yeah, I did.
00:08:46I just thought maybe I could help.
00:08:48I did. I just thought maybe after school.
00:08:50Let me look.
00:08:52What about today?
00:08:54I can work with you guys today.
00:08:56What do you need help with? Choreography? Tumbling?
00:08:58I'm afraid of tumbling. I'm not going to tumble anyway.
00:09:00Oh, I don't think you have a choice, though, Jerry.
00:09:02The Constitution says you have to do a back handspring to get on the squad.
00:09:06I'm sorry. I guess you don't know.
00:09:08I was in a horrible car accident in October,
00:09:10and I have a doctor's note that says I'm not supposed to tumble.
00:09:12You know, plus it messes up her hair.
00:09:14Shut up.
00:09:18Well, I will talk to Principal Tippett about it
00:09:20and see if we can make an exception,
00:09:22but I can't make any promises.
00:09:26Hi.
00:09:28Hi.
00:09:30Is Principal Tippett available?
00:09:32Oh, yeah, she is.
00:09:34Great, thanks.
00:09:36Hey, Mrs. Fred.
00:09:38Ah.
00:09:40So what'd you do this time, Reeve?
00:09:42Just trying to get Brooke and her gang transferred out of my class again.
00:09:44You really haven't in for my cheerleaders.
00:09:46No, only five.
00:09:48Emma Carr.
00:09:50Come on in.
00:09:52Great.
00:09:58I have been hearing incredible things about how you're doing.
00:10:00Oh, really?
00:10:02You're a natural teacher.
00:10:04You have an air of confidence, and that's what these kids really respond to.
00:10:08Excuse me.
00:10:10Pamela Blackburn to see you.
00:10:12Oh, is that Jerry Blackburn's mother?
00:10:14I came in here to talk to you about Jerry.
00:10:16Lorraine.
00:10:18Excuse me.
00:10:20I've got a bone to pick with you over your new cheerleading coach.
00:10:22Um, I'm Coach Carr.
00:10:26Did you tell my daughter
00:10:28she's not going to make the squad next year
00:10:30because her doctor won't let her tumble?
00:10:34No, that's not what I said.
00:10:36I did, however, explain to her
00:10:38the constitutional rules.
00:10:40I don't care about that.
00:10:42I don't care if she doesn't make the squad
00:10:44for something that isn't even her fault.
00:10:46I'll take you and this school to court if I have to.
00:10:48Now, Pam,
00:10:50no need to put the fear of God into my staff.
00:10:52Coach Carr was just telling me about Jerry's predicament.
00:10:54We will get a committee together
00:10:56with our NCAA rep,
00:10:58and Ray Stoddard at central office,
00:11:00and we'll come up with...
00:11:02Lorraine, I need to know...
00:11:04I need to let Coach Carr get back to class,
00:11:06and then I'll answer any of the questions that you have.
00:11:08I'll calm her down.
00:11:10You just keep up the good work, okay?
00:11:12Oh, thank you.
00:11:34Thank you, Megan.
00:11:36I'm never going to give up to that.
00:11:38Yes, you can.
00:11:40Cindy, you stop biting your nails and relax.
00:11:42You're not competing with your sister.
00:11:44They want to see your best.
00:11:46Tabitha Doran.
00:11:48Whoo!
00:11:50All right, Tabitha!
00:11:52Go, girl!
00:11:54Go, girl!
00:11:56Whoo!
00:12:02Yeah!
00:12:04Yeah!
00:12:06Yeah!
00:12:10Can you please tell me to miss your tryout?
00:12:12Come on, Megan.
00:12:14I have to apologize to Megan.
00:12:16What kind of booster president am I
00:12:18missing my own daughter's tryout?
00:12:20Mwah!
00:12:22Me and Daddy are so proud of you.
00:12:24Hey, Brooke.
00:12:26I know your mom isn't here yet,
00:12:28but she says she promised to come watch you.
00:12:30That's funny. She's never came to see me before.
00:12:32Jerry Blackburn.
00:12:34Yeah, Jerry!
00:12:36Whoo!
00:12:38Jerry! Jerry! Jerry!
00:12:40Jerry!
00:12:42Jerry!
00:12:44Mrs. Blackburn, what's going on?
00:12:46We already took this up in committee,
00:12:48and it was decided that you...
00:12:50What makes you think it's only up to you
00:12:52and your little committee?
00:12:54Go ahead, baby.
00:13:00Oh!
00:13:02Oh, my gosh.
00:13:06City Harp, we're in!
00:13:08Dakota Lumley, you're in!
00:13:10Summer Samuelson, in!
00:13:12Wait.
00:13:14Where's Megan?
00:13:16Oh!
00:13:18Oh, my God!
00:13:20Oh, my God!
00:13:22Oh, my God!
00:13:24Golly gee, we get to be cheerleaders.
00:13:26Isn't that the most exciting thing
00:13:28in our pathetic lives?
00:13:30Oh, my God.
00:13:32Jerry, you're not on here.
00:13:34What? No way.
00:13:36Coach Carr made you co-captain?
00:13:38Oh, I feel like
00:13:40we could do a really good job
00:13:42if we work together.
00:13:44It's okay.
00:13:46Jerks.
00:13:48For a second,
00:13:50I thought she was gonna run her over.
00:13:52And now she wants to.
00:13:54You knew Coach Carr was planning
00:13:56to make Megan co-captain,
00:13:58and you said okay?
00:14:00Would I have always been the only captain?
00:14:02Brooke, I can't tell Coach Carr
00:14:04that a girl who's perfectly qualified...
00:14:06Did it occur to you that I'm the best one for the job?
00:14:08Or that Megan has never choreographed
00:14:10a single routine because she sucks at it?
00:14:12I don't know.
00:14:14I don't know.
00:14:16She sucks at it?
00:14:18Hey, you are like everyone else.
00:14:20You think everything I get is because I'm your daughter.
00:14:22I hate you being principal.
00:14:24I don't even have a mom anymore.
00:14:26Brooke, I...
00:14:28I wish you wouldn't say that.
00:14:30Well, the truth hurts, doesn't it,
00:14:32Principal Timmon?
00:14:40So, is Megan
00:14:42still gonna be our captain?
00:14:44Megan's not our problem.
00:14:46Our problem is a coach who thinks
00:14:48she can do whatever she wants with our squad.
00:14:50Like hell.
00:15:04Oh my gosh.
00:15:06Look at what Paris Hilton is wearing.
00:15:08Yo, look at this.
00:15:10Oh, it's Kitty.
00:15:12Oh my gosh.
00:15:14Hey, Mr. Spretnik.
00:15:16Hey, Mr. Spretnik.
00:15:18Now, uh, you girls
00:15:20aren't gonna behave this summer, right?
00:15:22How do you want us to behave?
00:15:30Everyone, I think you are getting hot right now.
00:15:36What's up, baby?
00:15:38Oh, my God.
00:15:40Get a room.
00:15:44Wait, wait. How did you sneak on campus?
00:15:46Last day of school. What are you gonna do to me?
00:15:48Uh, arrest you.
00:15:50Arrest me? Again?
00:15:52Okay, look at this.
00:15:54Jerry, you better tighten your animal's leash.
00:15:56Animal?
00:15:58He's like a dog.
00:16:00Yo, what's up? I just texted you.
00:16:02I'm gonna score some bud for timing this kickback.
00:16:04You down? Let the girls get it.
00:16:06You don't forget me.
00:16:08Coach Carp will make us pee in a cup
00:16:10at cheer camp. No, she won't.
00:16:12Because that's the kind of Nazi bitch she is.
00:16:14Bye.
00:16:16Shh.
00:16:18Here, let her hear me.
00:16:22Bye, girls.
00:16:24We'll see you on Wednesday.
00:16:26Happy summer.
00:16:28I wonder what's going on with her.
00:16:30She's being so cold.
00:16:32You don't want my opinion.
00:16:34Oh, here, by the way, here's your $200.
00:16:36Never should have let you in on that, Paul.
00:16:38Ah-ha.
00:16:40There you go, you sore loser.
00:16:42Buy your wife some clothes.
00:16:44No, no, no. You won that money fair and square.
00:16:46And besides, I'm not buying my wife anything right now.
00:16:48And why not?
00:16:50Because our ten-year anniversary is coming up in a few weeks
00:16:52and I wanted to think better for God.
00:16:54Oh, you better remember.
00:16:56It's a set-up. I've already booked a romantic weekend.
00:16:58Looks like Coach Carp is moving in on your territory.
00:17:00I guess he won't be giving me a little gift now.
00:17:02Watch this.
00:17:06I want to monitor the kids for a couple of days
00:17:08while we get ourselves a second honeymoon.
00:17:10And you don't think your wife is going to suspect something?
00:17:12God, I hope not.
00:17:14Excuse me.
00:17:16Coach Reef.
00:17:18Hey.
00:17:20I just wanted to give you this.
00:17:22It's all chill songs I thought you'd love.
00:17:26It's very thoughtful of you.
00:17:28No problem.
00:17:30Very sweet of you.
00:17:34So I will see you in a couple days?
00:17:36Okay?
00:17:38Bye.
00:17:42Have a good summer, kiddo.
00:17:44Thanks. You too.
00:17:46Bye, Lise.
00:17:54This is totally mine.
00:17:56Stupid.
00:18:00Get off.
00:18:10Get together.
00:18:12Beautiful.
00:18:18Beautiful.
00:18:20Turn around.
00:18:22Turn around. Let me see those.
00:18:24Wake up.
00:18:26Time for the kiss room.
00:18:28Look.
00:18:32Jerry and Trevor are fighting again.
00:18:38Did this break up already?
00:18:40Make out.
00:18:42Kiss her.
00:18:54Tabitha, what do you think you're doing?
00:18:58Mom, it's the last day of school.
00:19:00You said I could have a party.
00:19:02I said you could have a few friends over.
00:19:04I did not say you could pass out
00:19:06booze to the entire school.
00:19:08There had better be some tequila
00:19:10left in that bottle for my margaritas
00:19:12or you are in big trouble.
00:19:18I love you, Mom.
00:19:20Oh, my God.
00:19:22Wait, let Trevor make a sparkle.
00:19:28Jerry!
00:19:34Jerry is such a bitch.
00:19:38We should totally break up with her.
00:19:40No.
00:19:42She should break up with you.
00:19:44Why?
00:19:46Because you're a jerk. That's why.
00:19:48Come on. You know I'm solid.
00:19:50Right?
00:19:52I don't think so.
00:19:54You don't think so what?
00:19:56Why am I not a good guy?
00:20:02I don't think so.
00:20:14If Daddy calls while I'm gone, tell him
00:20:16that you have my cell phone.
00:20:18Brooke, I don't know why you get your hopes up
00:20:20with that man.
00:20:22He's obviously too self-absorbed.
00:20:24Brooke, I want you to have a good time.
00:20:26I don't want to fight.
00:20:28All right, whatever. Bye.
00:20:32Hey.
00:20:34Chair camp is only a week
00:20:36and New Orleans is only a few hours away.
00:20:38Okay.
00:20:40There's Jackson High's shiny new star.
00:20:42Lorraine, this is my husband, Tim.
00:20:44Very nice to meet you.
00:20:46Emma has told me such nice things about you.
00:20:48Nice to meet you.
00:20:54Girls are going to camp in a limo.
00:20:56Yeah.
00:20:58When Brooke and Ashley asked me,
00:21:00I thought, why not?
00:21:02It might be a good bonding experience for the school.
00:21:04Well, you should go, baby.
00:21:06I'll see you soon.
00:21:08I'll call you tonight, okay?
00:21:10You better.
00:21:12I love you. I love you, too.
00:21:14It was very nice to meet you,
00:21:16and I'd love to have you over for dinner sometime.

00:21:20Jerry! Jerry! Jerry!
00:21:22Jerry! Jerry!
00:21:24Woo!
00:21:26What's Jerry doing here?
00:21:28She was added back to the squad
00:21:30for Superintendent Hopkins.
00:21:32Kotar is freaking. I know. I love it.
00:21:34Do you have the central office to send over?
00:21:36No, no, no.
00:21:38You're not going to call central office.
00:21:40It's not without my permission, ever.
00:21:42But three other girls didn't make the squad
00:21:44because they couldn't do it back here.
00:21:46That's right. How is that fair that Jerry isn't there?
00:21:48The decision's already been made.
00:21:50I know that you want to do the right thing for the squad,
00:21:52but the right thing to do right now
00:21:54is to welcome Jerry back
00:21:56and go on to camp.
00:21:58Please.
00:22:20Come on, you guys. Let's go.

00:23:34Pump that spirit. Keep it up.
00:23:36I don't have it.
00:23:38I know you stole Cindy's tape, Brooke.
00:23:40I saw you.
00:23:42Now give it back.
00:23:44Chill, bitch.
00:23:46Yes, you do, Brooke.
00:23:48Whoa, whoa, whoa. What's going on?
00:23:50I bought a roll of duct tape so we could play a joke
00:23:52on the captains, tape them up in their rooms
00:23:54like they did last year.
00:23:56But Brooke and Lisa took it.
00:23:58She's lying.
00:24:02Come on, you guys.
00:24:04Look, I don't want to ruin your fun, but you can't just steal someone's stuff.
00:24:06So why don't you give it back
00:24:08and I'll take you someplace to get your own roll.
00:24:10Okay? Let's go.
00:24:12Come on. Let's get our stuff.
00:24:16Come on.
00:24:26Uh, you know, I'm going to go ask Coach Wilson
00:24:28if I can borrow her car because it's late.
00:24:30You know what? I can hold your stuff for you if you want.
00:24:32Okay. Um...
00:24:34Two seconds. Thank you. Be right back.
00:24:36That was too damn easy.
00:24:38Seriously.
00:24:42What are you doing?
00:24:44Well, Coach Carr said she doesn't want to ruin our fun,
00:24:46so we're going to have some fun.
00:24:52Look what we have here.
00:24:54You guys are crazy.
00:24:58Do it.
00:25:10Hey there.
00:25:12What the hell are you trying to do, Carr?
00:25:14Was that message supposed to be some kind of joke?
00:25:16What are you talking about?
00:25:18The text message you just sent me.
00:25:20It would have left my friend reddit.
00:25:22She's going to find that too funny.
00:25:24What text? I didn't send you a text.
00:25:26I sure as hell got a text message from your phone.
00:25:28Saying what?
00:25:30I think we should hotbox.
00:25:32I don't even know what a hotbox means.
00:25:34Neither do I.
00:25:36But it kind of sounds like, you know...
00:25:38Well, if you didn't send it, who the hell did?
00:25:44This is not funny.
00:25:48I really love to have a brawl.
00:25:50That is hot.
00:25:52You girls can't co-treat the dirty text from my phone.
00:25:56I told you she'd think hotboxing was something about sex.
00:25:58Chill out. It's not about sex.
00:26:00It means smoking weed in your car, windows up.
00:26:02Get it?
00:26:04Hotbox.
00:26:06That's better.
00:26:08What is wrong with you girls? I am married.
00:26:10Coach Reeve is married.
00:26:12Do you have any idea how ugly this could have got?
00:26:14We're sorry, okay?
00:26:16We thought we were doing you a favor.
00:26:18We all know you like Coach Reeve.
00:26:20Yeah.
00:26:24Never touch my phone again.
00:26:26No problem, Coach.
00:26:28Car.
00:26:32I don't even know what to think about you girls anymore.
00:26:34What am I supposed to think of you?
00:26:36You're having a freaking heart attack over a stupid little joke.
00:26:38We really did think you'd laugh about it.
00:26:40So laugh.
00:26:44It's late. Y'all need to get back to your own rooms.
00:26:48Now!
00:26:50You know what? Just go.
00:26:54See ya.
00:26:56I didn't want to be here.
00:26:58It's not like she needs to get a life.
00:27:04Why are you here, Brooke?
00:27:06Why are you a cheerleader?
00:27:08Because I'm good at it.
00:27:10You're good at the physical part,
00:27:12but there's more to it than that.
00:27:14It's about being a certain kind of person.
00:27:16A person who cares.
00:27:18Cares about her squad,
00:27:20her fellow students,
00:27:22her school.
00:27:24You know what? Save the lecture.
00:27:26The school is all my mother ever talks about.
00:27:28I'm a cheerleader for me.
00:27:30That's what people notice.
00:27:32Me.
00:27:38Look at your uniform.
00:27:40Your name isn't on the back of this.
00:27:42You don't have a number.
00:27:44This uniform isn't about you, Brooke.
00:27:46It's about being a part of something bigger than you.
00:27:50Anyone can get noticed.
00:27:52There's nothing special about that.
00:27:54But it takes someone special
00:27:56to inspire others.
00:28:02Do you want to know why I made Megan
00:28:04co-captain of the squad?
00:28:06Because she knows
00:28:08how to inspire people.
00:28:10And you, Brooke,
00:28:12you don't.

00:31:40I need to thank our captains.
00:31:47You guys both stepped up and ran the practices.
00:31:49You figured out the lighting, the effects, and raised the money to pay for it.
00:31:53Awesome job, you guys.
00:31:58And Brooke, this was especially your show.
00:32:01The choreography, the presentation was beyond amazing.
00:32:05I am so proud of you.
00:32:06You know that that was the best pep rally in Jackson history!
00:32:19And I think we all know who we have to thank for that.
00:32:26Give it up for Coach Carr, you guys.
00:32:30You were great!
00:32:33Oh, it was amazing.
00:32:37You guys go home and get some rest.

00:32:40So proud of you.
00:32:41Now we're doing the practice tonight.
00:32:42Brooke? Brooke? Brooke? Brooke?
00:32:51You were so wonderful out there. How about we go to dinner tonight? Just you and me.
00:32:57You know, I'm sorry, I can't. Coach Carr invited me and Megan over to help pick up music for Crosstown Showdown.
00:33:03Right, Coach?
00:33:04Uh, what?
00:33:05Um, the mix for Crosstown Showdown.
00:33:07Oh, tonight, yeah.
00:33:09Sure.
00:33:12Okay.
00:33:28Hey, hey, yo, can you leave me alone?
00:33:30No, you don't touch me.
00:33:31Why?
00:33:32Do you have any idea how stupid I felt when you set up that party with Jerry?
00:33:35You told me you broke up with her. You lied to me.
00:33:38We are broke up, look.
00:33:39Calm down, okay? She was needing a ride, she called me, and she just...
00:33:43Okay, look, look, look, listen, listen. I wasn't... I'm not with her.
00:33:47I came here to see you. That's why I'm here, okay?
00:33:53Lunch money.
00:33:54Here you go.
00:33:56Thank you, Daddy.
00:34:02Wait, where's Ashley?
00:34:03Not my dating babysitter.
00:34:05I'm not with her, okay?
00:34:09No, I can't.
00:34:10You can't what?
00:34:13I can't do this. I mean...
00:34:15Just stop it.
00:34:39I want to get out of here.
00:35:03Bye, bye.
00:35:09Jerry!
00:35:15If you would just let me explain.
00:35:17You're hitting on my boyfriend, aren't you?
00:35:19You fugly slut.
00:35:20Slut? You're calling me a slut?
00:35:22Yes, I'm calling you a slut.
00:35:24Yes, I am.
00:35:26You bitch!
00:35:28Right.
00:35:29Ow! Ow!
00:35:31Stop!
00:35:32Ow!

00:35:38Ow!
00:35:39Stop!
00:35:40Jerry, no!
00:35:42You're supposed to be my friend!
00:35:44Stop!
00:35:45All right, all right.
00:35:46Move it, move it, move it.
00:35:47Out of the way, out of the way.
00:35:48What's going on?
00:35:49This is Ashley.
00:35:50Ashley, are you all right?
00:35:52Huh? What happened here?
00:35:57Ashley, are you okay?
00:35:59Did somebody hit you?
00:36:03No.
00:36:05I just have a bad stomach cramp.
00:36:07Oh.
00:36:12Well, if she or anybody else gets any more stomach cramps,
00:36:15the repercussions will be expulsionary.
00:36:17Is that understood?
00:36:19Come on.
00:36:24Yeah, Jerry.
00:36:27Where's Lisa?
00:36:38Whose phone is that?
00:36:44Talk to me.
00:36:47Oh, my God, she did what?
00:36:49Lisa, off the phone now.
00:36:51No way.
00:36:53Oh, my gosh, give me details.
00:36:57No way.
00:37:00Oh, my God, you must be kidding me.
00:37:02Lisa, off the phone now.
00:37:05This is important. Do you mind?
00:37:09You better give me the phone.
00:37:11No way. Oh, my gosh.
00:37:13Girl, give me the phone.
00:37:14Okay. Meet me at the quarter break.
00:37:16Okay, okay.
00:37:19There. I'm done.
00:37:21Happy?
00:37:23I can't believe she did that,
00:37:25or that Brooke would call her in the middle of class.
00:37:27What's the big shock here?
00:37:29The Fab Five run this school.
00:37:31Brooke, Lisa, Ashley, all of them.
00:37:33They've been doing exactly as they please for years.
00:37:35But since the pep rally, I thought that they'd been...
00:37:37Did you really think a pep rally
00:37:39was gonna make a big difference with those girls?
00:37:44Brooke, Brooke.
00:37:46I need to talk to you.
00:37:48What? Mom, not right now. Look, I have to go to practice.
00:37:50I need to talk to you now.
00:37:52Tabitha, run on ahead.
00:37:54Just go.
00:37:56Yes, ma'am.
00:37:58Miss Durant just dropped off a disciplinary action referral.
00:38:00For what?
00:38:02For phone use in class for you and Lisa.
00:38:04So?
00:38:06Look, do you know how intense she is, always getting uptight over nothing?
00:38:08Coach Carr came in with her,
00:38:10and she wants to give you and Lisa demerits for the offense.
00:38:12Are you kidding me?
00:38:14I cannot tell you how royally pissed I am.
00:38:16Yeah, at me.
00:38:18No. At Coach Carr. I didn't hire her to go on a witch hunt for demerits.
00:38:22Why don't you tell me your version of what happened?
00:38:26You don't have a choice. You are getting ten demerits.
00:38:28No, I'm not.
00:38:30Mr. Sprintneck says so, and he won't.
00:38:32How could you do that?
00:38:34Write me up without even asking me what happened?
00:38:36Okay, first of all, I didn't write you up.
00:38:38Mrs. Durant did.
00:38:40Second of all, it doesn't matter what happened.
00:38:42You girls did what you did, and you have to face the consequences.
00:38:44So if you're not going to sign this,
00:38:46I'm going to be talking to Mr. Sprintneck at the end of the day.
00:38:48What is your malfunction, Emma?
00:38:50Well, at the moment, it's your tone.
00:38:52So please watch how you talk to me.
00:38:54Brooke.
00:38:56Brooke.
00:38:58Do you really think I want to give you demerits after all the hard work you've done?
00:39:00I was crushed when Ms. Durant told me you called Lisa in the middle of class.
00:39:04I thought you were better than that.
00:39:06Yeah, that's what I thought about you, too.
00:39:08And believe me, I won't ever make that mistake again.
00:39:12Oh, and by the way,
00:39:16my mom wants to see you at her office.
00:39:18Now.
00:39:28So you're saying we can't give the girls demerits for phone use in class?
00:39:32No.
00:39:34Geri had just found out that her boyfriend was cheating on her
00:39:36with Ashley, of all people.
00:39:38Apparently, Geri said she felt suicidal,
00:39:40and Lisa was worried about her,
00:39:42which is why she picked up the phone.
00:39:44If that was why she answered the phone.
00:39:46You know these girls,
00:39:48how they play with the truth to avoid consequences.
00:39:50Look, whether it's true or not,
00:39:52I think it's wrong to let this slide.
00:39:54I really want to instill a sense of accountability in those girls.
00:39:56It's not your job to hold them accountable.
00:39:58It's my job.
00:40:00And it's Mr. Spretnik's job.
00:40:02I would appreciate it if you do your job
00:40:04and get the squad ready for the game tonight.
00:40:10I know it seems I'm being argumentative.
00:40:12I just, I want to do a good job here.
00:40:14I want to do a good job for you.
00:40:18You're new at this,
00:40:20and you haven't learned yet
00:40:22that the people above you with years of experience
00:40:24have good reasons for their decisions.
00:40:26I need you to start figuring that out.
00:40:40You should be warming up for tonight's game.
00:40:44Oh, we just want to know if we have to sign the demerit book.
00:40:48I think you already know the answer to that.
00:40:54Okay.
00:41:08We need at least two six-packs, so, Jerry, you go in.
00:41:10No, Brooke, I don't have my, uh,
00:41:12I don't have my big ID.
00:41:14I don't have mine.
00:41:16I thought I told you that.
00:41:18Well, good luck.
00:41:20I don't know.
00:41:22Hey.
00:41:26I don't know.
00:41:32Hey, give me that.
00:41:34Hey!
00:41:36Wait, no, come on.
00:41:38Oh, God.
00:41:40Got it?
00:41:46Y'all riding dirty?
00:41:48Yeah, I wish.
00:41:50Gotta be a good lady.
00:41:52Make that two.
00:41:54Oh, wait, you guys, look.
00:41:56Thanks, dude.
00:41:58Look over there.
00:42:00Does anyone want to go?
00:42:02Oh, my God.
00:42:14No, you should wear them.
00:42:18Hey, hey.
00:42:20Y'all are all 18, right?
00:42:22Just barely.
00:42:28You really think we should be in here, in our uniforms?
00:42:30Look, just relax, okay?
00:42:32I mean, look at all these dirty old men in here.
00:42:34I bet they love naughty cheerleaders.
00:42:38Mr. Spretnik.
00:42:40These are the Q.
00:42:42Heat wave.
00:42:44Lubricant.
00:42:46No.
00:42:52How about some of this
00:42:54bondage tape?
00:42:56Oh, my gosh.
00:42:58Oh, that's hot.
00:43:00Oh, yeah.
00:43:04She is not a real cheerleader, either.
00:43:06I bet she can't do this.
00:43:12Wait, you guys, come here.
00:43:14Come on.
00:43:16Hey, um, why don't you hold this?
00:43:18Okay.
00:43:20She'll see.
00:43:22Oh, God.
00:43:24Oh, no.
00:43:26I'm so sick.
00:43:38Hello?
00:43:40Janice, what's wrong?
00:43:44Whoo!
00:43:52They're in their uniforms.
00:44:00What did you say
00:44:02brought this to your attention?
00:44:04Janice Harper. Her daughter Cindy
00:44:06showed it to her. I'm just not sure
00:44:08how to handle this. That's all right.
00:44:10We'll handle it.
00:44:12Go for it!
00:44:14All right, we love you.
00:44:16No, no, Janice Harper's probably shown this to the entire
00:44:18Booster Club by now.
00:44:20I can't be a bad Denise.
00:44:22This is gonna have
00:44:24to be handled by central office.
00:44:26We didn't give this moment to you.
00:44:28We love you.
00:44:30No!
00:44:32Okay.
00:44:40Miss Anderson?
00:44:42Bathroom?
00:45:00Hey.
00:45:02Heard about the video.
00:45:04Say it. Get it over with.
00:45:06Say what?
00:45:08I told you so.
00:45:10Not what I want to say.
00:45:12What do you want to say?
00:45:14That if anyone can turn the situation around
00:45:16for these girls, it's you.
00:45:18That's not what I want to say.
00:45:20What do you want to say?
00:45:22That if anyone can turn the situation around
00:45:24for these girls, it's you.
00:45:26That's not what I want to say.
00:45:29Thanks.
00:45:33Oh, you're the best.
00:45:39You know, I really hate it
00:45:41when you pull me out of class.
00:45:43If you have to talk to me, just wait till lunch.
00:45:55Wait, how did you find this?
00:45:57Do you know how difficult damage control
00:45:59is going to be for this?
00:46:01Damage? What damage?
00:46:11Hey, Coach Kari, will you take a video of us?
00:46:15Please?
00:46:19You guys really don't care about what you do
00:46:21or how it affects other people, do you?
00:46:23Look, all we do is make a stupid video.
00:46:25It was supposed to be funny.
00:46:27The docs around here make sex jokes
00:46:29and act obscene all the time.
00:46:31No one throws a fit about that.
00:46:33I guarantee you, if they were in their uniform
00:46:35and off campus, they'd be in big trouble.
00:46:37Oh, so then it's okay as long as we're on campus.
00:46:39Jerry, when you're in your uniform,
00:46:41you represent this whole school.
00:46:43You represent everyone else on your squad.
00:46:45Do you realize that anyone who watches
00:46:47this video is going to think Jackson cheerleaders
00:46:49are a bunch of trashy sluts?
00:46:55Oh.
00:46:59I am so disappointed in you.
00:47:07Coach Kari's disappointed in us?
00:47:11Well, I guess I shouldn't be.
00:47:13I mean, you did warn me that all you care about
00:47:15is getting noticed, so congratulations, Brooke.
00:47:17You're finally getting noticed.
00:47:21You four are going to sit out
00:47:23until the district decides
00:47:25what your punishment will be.
00:47:27We'll see what my mom says about that.
00:47:29You do realize that in college,
00:47:31you won't be able to run to your mother
00:47:33every time you don't like something.
00:47:35Here. It's obviously your time of the month.
00:47:41All right, you guys.
00:47:43Crosstown showdown is in a couple weeks,
00:47:45so let's go and start stretching.
00:47:53Look who it is.
00:47:55The little nerd.
00:48:01You think we wouldn't find out
00:48:03you showed your mom the video?
00:48:05I'm sorry.
00:48:07No, but you will be.
00:48:11Brooke.
00:48:13I'm sorry.
00:48:15I'm sorry.
00:48:17I'm sorry.
00:48:19I'm sorry.
00:48:21I'm sorry.
00:48:23Stop it, you guys.
00:48:25You're sorry?
00:48:27Yes. Really?
00:48:29You're sorry?
00:48:31Brooke.
00:48:33Wait. You're sorry?
00:48:35I'm sorry.
00:48:37Brooke.
00:48:39Brooke, stop.
00:48:41What are you doing?
00:48:43You know what? Try and hit me.
00:48:45Do you want to hit me? Come on, hit me.
00:48:47You know, if you tell anybody about this,
00:48:49I swear to God you'll get worse.
00:48:51And I kind of hope you do tell,
00:48:53because it would make me so happy to smash your face.
00:48:55Let's go. Let's go.
00:49:07I'm calling mom right now.
00:49:09No, you heard them.
00:49:11You can't tell.
00:49:13You have to promise me.
00:49:15Promise me.
00:49:1930 days?
00:49:21Come on, that's going way overboard.
00:49:23Pamela, the video showed the girls drinking alcohol.
00:49:25According to the cheerleading constitution,
00:49:27they should actually be removed from the squad.
00:49:29Oh, please.
00:49:31I just read that 80% of all high school students
00:49:33drink on occasion.
00:49:35It's ridiculous to expect our girls to behave like it's 1950.
00:49:37Look, I don't want Lisa drinking,
00:49:39but I should be the one to handle it,
00:49:41not our little cheerleading coach.
00:49:43We pay, what, 1,500 bucks
00:49:45so our girls can be cheerleaders?
00:49:471,800.
00:49:491,800, okay.
00:49:51We paid our money. Let's let them cheer.
00:49:53You know I'm not going to appeal.
00:49:55I'm trying to keep myself out of this.
00:49:57Lorraine, come on.
00:49:59You could at least back us up
00:50:01or get your little Miss Sunshine coach here to back off.
00:50:09If Coach Carr thinks we're trashy sluts,
00:50:11she's going to get trashy sluts.
00:50:17Oh, the sun just came out.
00:50:19My, that is sexy.
00:50:21Uh-huh.
00:50:23No way.
00:50:25I've been a lot sly with you girls,
00:50:27but this, the way you're dressed, uh-huh.
00:50:29What's wrong with the way we're dressed?
00:50:31You know exactly what I'm talking about, Brooke.
00:50:33Are you looking at her boobs?
00:50:35You perv.
00:50:37I want you, I want all of you right now
00:50:39to get out of the office, get permission to go home and change.
00:50:41Go.
00:50:43I don't think so.
00:50:45Excuse me?
00:50:47You get out of my classroom right now, Brooke.
00:50:49You know what?
00:50:51You might as well get your panties out of a wad
00:50:53because we're not going anywhere.
00:51:09So,
00:51:11what should we talk about today in class?
00:51:13Oh, Miss Brooke?
00:51:15Yes, Jerry?
00:51:17Um, let's talk about how Trevor called me last night
00:51:19and said that Ashley is so crap in bed
00:51:21and that she makes sounds like a monkey.
00:51:23Oh, really?
00:51:25Ho, ho, ho, ho.
00:51:27Ho, ho, ho, ho.
00:51:29Ho, ho, ho, ho.
00:51:31Ho, ho, ho, ho.
00:51:33Ho, ho, ho, ho.
00:51:35Ho, ho, ho, ho.
00:51:37Ho, ho, ho, ho.
00:51:39Ho, ho, ho, ho.
00:51:41Ho, ho, ho, ho.
00:51:43Aw, poor little baby.
00:51:45I got a banana for you.
00:51:47Ho, ho, ho, ho.
00:51:49Run, slut!
00:51:51Run!
00:51:53Ha, ha, ha.
00:51:55Ha, ha, ha.
00:51:57Oh, my.
00:52:17What are you looking at?
00:52:19Nothing.
00:52:21It's just
00:52:23doesn't feel so good to be on the other side
00:52:25does it? I was never as mean as Brooke and Jimmy were being to me. I was never that cruel.
00:52:33Yes, you were. You were exactly like them.
00:52:43So, I went to Spretnik yesterday about Brooke already having nine absences in my class this year.
00:52:50And this morning, I see this.
00:52:53Wait, that says she's been absent three times.
00:52:55Exactly. It's been changed. Yesterday, it says nine. This morning, it says three. I didn't change it.
00:53:02One of the girls had access to the server?
00:53:05Yeah, it's possible. But it's also possible they didn't have to because someone in that office did it for them.
00:53:13You know, I've tried to avoid doing what everybody else here does, and that's just hunker down, watch the calendar, and wait for those little monsters to graduate.
00:53:24But if it's going to be like this, screw it. I'm done fighting. I don't care anymore.
00:53:35Jerry's mom appealed. Tabitha's mom. Lisa's dad.
00:53:38Brooke, do you have any idea how hard this is for me?
00:53:41Look, this isn't fair. No one would care about the video if you weren't my mom.
00:53:45You're probably right. Which is why I don't know whether to ground you or feel sorry for you.
00:53:49Why don't you just bite me?
00:53:50Okay, you know what, Brooke? You're grounded.
00:53:52Go ahead. Try it, Lorraine. I'm going to call Daddy. I'll tell him if I can't live with him, then I'll disappear.
00:53:58And this time, neither of you will ever see me again. And that's a promise.
00:54:11It's central office.
00:54:21That was unnecessary.
00:54:25Lorraine Tippett? Oh, hello, Mr. Tompkins. Yeah, fine, thank you.
00:54:33I could not agree with you more.
00:54:35Yes. Thank you so much for calling. I will.
00:54:42That was Vernon Tompkins. That he has decided to reduce the suspension to 15 days plus probation.
00:54:52Yeah, well, no thanks to you.
00:54:58The parents don't want the girls to have consequences. The school doesn't want them to have consequences.
00:55:03And now even the district is backing off.
00:55:06So if no one else cares, why should I be the one beating my head against the wall?
00:55:10Because it's not like you to back down from fighting for what you think is right.
00:55:14Well, maybe I should start doing what people with more experience are doing.
00:55:18And all they're doing is watching the calendar until the fab five are gone. So fine, I can do that too.
00:55:25What do you want me to say? That it's okay not to rock the boat? Because it is.
00:55:29I've been in the corporate world. I know how futile it is.
00:55:33Why do you think I went back to get my degree?
00:55:36Hon, I know you think cheerleading is some high holy mission, but it's not like there are lives at stake here.
00:55:48Maybe you're right. I'm just not feeling that good. I'm going to make some tea. Do you want some?
00:55:54No, I'm fine. Thanks.
00:55:59Okay, so we're going to go low B, high B, touchdown, tabletop, T. Okay? Three claps. Great.
00:56:12All right, now you guys, yeah, let's pull a little closer together.
00:56:15Hey guys, sorry to interrupt. Coach Carr just called and unfortunately she's home sick today with the flu.
00:56:21What are you, her errand boy now?
00:56:24So, she asked me to put Megan in charge. Try to remember that you're still on probation. Okay?
00:56:35All right, you guys, let's bring it together. Ready? Let's try this again. You ready?
00:56:39Little jackass. I can't believe you actually worship his job. Temporary insanity.
00:56:44All right, bring it down, bring it down. Look what I jacked.
00:56:47I love your mom. Let's bounce.
00:56:51Okay, lock out, lock out. Hey, Megan, we're going to leave, all right? I don't care what you do, Brooke.
00:57:05You suck so bad. You make this whole squad look like-
00:57:08Leave her alone.
00:57:10Do you really want to do this again?
00:57:13Okay, chill, badass. We're out.
00:57:17Let's go.
00:57:22It's heavier.
00:57:25Take this.
00:57:27Get it.
00:57:30Let's go to the mall.
00:57:32I don't want to go to the mall. It's old and stupid.
00:57:35Let's go to Harris's or something. It'll get us high.
00:57:38We can't go to Harris's. He's not at work yet.
00:57:41Let's just go somewhere. It's so stupid to waste a bus here.
00:57:45Fine. Come on.
00:57:48I'm freaking hungry.
00:57:49I'm freaking hungry. Let's take a nap.
00:58:07Oh, he's hot.
00:58:09You pulled this car out way too fashion, lady. Do you have an off-campus pass?
00:58:14No, but we have permission.
00:58:16If you don't have a pass, then you need to park your car.
00:58:19Do you know who I am?
00:58:22Yes, I do.
00:58:24Now, park the car.
00:58:26Look, okay, you can go calm Mr. Spretnik on your little radio, and he'll tell you where to leave.
00:58:34Hey, Joe. What's going on?
00:58:36Hey there, BLT.
00:58:38You girls need to get out of this car right now.
00:58:46Oh my god.
00:58:56Oh, did you see that?
00:58:58Yeah.
00:59:00Oh my god, it's the four of us.
00:59:02It couldn't be any more fascinating to these losers.
00:59:05They're freaking legends of their own time.
00:59:14Here's your check.
00:59:23You know, it's really funny to me.
00:59:26This is actually a prop for a health class project.
00:59:29You know, I found it in the trash can by the science lab.
00:59:33Why don't you girls just tell me what happened?
00:59:37Well, no, we just took a huge test, and we were all tired.
00:59:42And we needed some fresh air, so...
00:59:43Yeah, I was running, and it was stupid of me, but I fell.
00:59:57Ab.
01:00:01You gotta hear this.
01:00:05Everyone is saying you were the one that caught them in the parking lot.
01:00:08You didn't write them up?
01:00:10No, I didn't.
01:00:11But they were drinking on school grounds.
01:00:14There was no alcohol in the bottle.
01:00:16No proof they were drinking.
01:00:18And as for this skipping thing, I think there's a lot of gray area there.
01:00:21I mean, the other squad captain gave them permission to go home.
01:00:23Who, Megan?
01:00:25Since when can a student give another student permission to leave school?
01:00:28Lorraine, you have to write them up.
01:00:30Keep pushing me, and I will dissolve this program altogether.
01:00:33There will be no more cheerleaders.
01:00:35And I will let everyone know that you're responsible.
01:00:37Now, I have an appointment.
01:00:38I have an appointment.
01:00:40Lorraine, where did you go?
01:00:42Those girls have violated their probation.
01:00:44They need to be removed from the squad.
01:00:46I am not about to deliver permanent consequences for an offense I'm not sure they committed.
01:00:49This isn't about embarrassing stuff on the internet anymore.
01:00:52They're becoming a danger to themselves and others.
01:00:55This conversation is over.
01:00:57Why do you help these girls get away with whatever they want?
01:00:59I know why Lorraine does it.
01:01:01She thinks it will convince her daughter that she loves her.
01:01:03But what's in it for you?
01:01:05Lorraine, you are becoming irrational.
01:01:06You can't take another day off until you're feeling it.
01:01:08Wasn't it you that altered Brooke Tippett's attendance record in Coach Rafe's class?
01:01:11Lorraine, you're completely out of line.
01:01:13This whole school is out of line.
01:01:15And if you're not going to hold these girls accountable for their actions,
01:01:17I will hold them accountable as a squad.
01:01:19I will cancel all activities outside the classroom.
01:01:21I will see them at practices, and that's it.
01:01:23If you're refusing to perform your duties as cheerleading coach,
01:01:26then I'll just accept that as your resignation.
01:01:28No, I am not resigning.
01:01:30You are going to be dealing with me until you handle this the right way.
01:01:37Why are you making us pay for what they did?
01:01:40I know this is hard to understand.
01:01:42But if rules are broken, there have to be consequences.
01:01:45And these are the only consequences I have in my power to deliver.
01:01:48You said you would never quit on us.
01:01:50I'm not quitting. I'm trying to force a change in discipline policy.
01:01:53Can you understand that?
01:01:55Yeah, but I'm tired of them getting away with everything and making us all look bad.
01:01:59You're not hurting us, you know.
01:02:01You're just going to make everyone else hate you as much as we do.
01:02:03Leave.
01:02:05Make me.
01:02:08Practice is cancelled today.
01:02:10You can all go home early. I'll let the office know.
01:02:25What are you still doing here?
01:02:27Waiting for Mr...
01:02:33I'm sorry.
01:03:04Wait, what's going on here?
01:03:09After meeting with Coach Carr and a number of the Booster parents,
01:03:13Mr. Spragnick and I have decided that you girls will be written up for skipping class on Tuesday.
01:03:20And this is because of what she wants?
01:03:24Most of the girls will receive 10 to 12 demerits total.
01:03:28Most of the girls will receive 10 to 12 demerits total.
01:03:31But Jeri already has 10, so 20 is now her total.
01:03:34And 20 means removal from the squad.
01:03:37That's it, Jeri. You're off the squad.
01:03:39Really? I mean, really.
01:03:41Because my mom is going to be very interested to hear about this.
01:03:44This is twice now that you've gotten me kicked off the squad.
01:03:48For what? What did I ever do to you?
01:03:51Jeri, this isn't about what you've done to me.
01:03:53It's about what...
01:03:55She is totally manipulating you and you're letting her.
01:03:57Aren't you?
01:03:59Aren't you?
01:04:01Answer me!
01:04:03Answer me!
01:04:12So if you're wondering why I'm giving you erasers,
01:04:15well, we've had a pretty rough time.
01:04:18And I know this is cheesy,
01:04:20but this is what my high school coach used to do when she wanted us to start fresh.
01:04:24And that's what the squad needs, a fresh start.
01:04:34Would you like me to tell you where you can put that eraser?
01:04:37Disrespect to a teacher is 10 demerits, so go ahead, tell me.
01:04:45Sorry, coach, but I'm respectfully declining your eraser.
01:04:53Hey!
01:05:11Hey, did she say anything about me?
01:05:13No, she just gave us these.
01:05:15You took it? Why didn't you tell her to stick it up her ass?
01:05:18Why didn't you?
01:05:20You know what, this is our squad, our school.
01:05:21We were here before that bitch, and you know what?
01:05:24If we're gonna be happy, she's gone.
01:05:30There's not so much to know about it.
01:05:32All right. All right, and you say this affair has been going on since before last semester?
01:05:36Yes, sir.
01:05:38I definitely heard Coach Carr say to him,
01:05:40what if your wife finds out?
01:05:43All right, well, just keep this to yourselves, all right?
01:05:45I'll take care of it.
01:05:52I need you to come with me and sit through the first round
01:05:55of Pamela Blackburn's appeal over Jerry being removed from your squad.
01:06:07At camp this summer, did you or did you not
01:06:11encourage the girls to break curfew and go with you to buy tape
01:06:15for the purpose of playing pranks on the other girls?
01:06:18Yes, but I didn't consider breaking curfew
01:06:21because they were with me.
01:06:23Did you let them get away with sending a sexually explicit message
01:06:26to Coach Reeve from your cell phone?
01:06:28No, I didn't let them get away with it.
01:06:30But you didn't give them any formal punishment.
01:06:36So, if you let them break some rules and not others,
01:06:39how were they supposed to know where you draw the line?
01:06:41The line at school is very clear.
01:06:43Drinking is not allowed, neither is skipping class.
01:06:46Did you frequently flirt with Coach Reeve,
01:06:50a married man, in front of the girls?
01:06:54Lorraine, why am I the one on trial here?
01:06:56We're supposed to be discussing Jerry's behavior issues.
01:06:59Emma, you can't kick a girl off the squad
01:07:02and not have questions raised about how that came about.
01:07:05I'm curious to hear your answers.
01:07:11One, two, three.
01:07:14One, two, down.
01:07:19Come on, you guys. You haven't hit this once yet today.
01:07:23Let's try it again. Come on.
01:07:25One, two, jump.
01:07:27Come on. Stay, stay, stay, stay straight.
01:07:29No, no, no, no.
01:07:36Get up.
01:07:39Cindy, get up.
01:07:41I can't do it.
01:07:44Okay.
01:07:48I'm not helping much, am I?
01:07:51You're straightening your arms too early,
01:07:53so it's throwing your balance off.
01:07:55So I want you to stay up straight until you're up,
01:07:57and then extend your arms.
01:07:59Can we do that?
01:08:01Okay, I'll try this again.
01:08:03Okay.
01:08:05Ready? One, two, down.
01:08:07Straight. Cindy, Cindy, squeeze.
01:08:09Squeeze, squeeze.
01:08:11Yes, yes.
01:08:13Yes, yes.
01:08:23See, I told you.
01:08:25Good job.
01:08:28I had a makeup test.
01:08:30Hey, Red, how'd you do?
01:08:32I nailed it.
01:08:33Lisa, what's that on your leg?
01:08:35Nothing.
01:08:37I didn't cheat.
01:08:40Okay, fine.
01:08:42I wrote the test answers on my leg.
01:08:44Big whoop.
01:08:46All right.
01:08:48I have to write you up for academic dishonesty.
01:08:50You'll be benched for another two weeks.
01:08:52You're just trying to keep me out of the Crosstown Showdown.
01:08:54Just like you're doing to Jerry.
01:08:56You guys are going to get it from me.
01:08:58You're going to get it from me.
01:09:00You're going to get it from me.
01:09:01Just like you're doing to Jerry.
01:09:03You guys need to start thinking of consequences
01:09:05before you break the rules.
01:09:08Let's do it again.
01:09:10Cindy, okay, remember,
01:09:12we're not going to straighten you too soon.
01:09:14I hate you!
01:09:16Everyone hates you!
01:09:18Why don't you just quit?
01:09:20Okay.
01:09:31Let's start with a dance, okay?
01:09:34Come on, let's go from the top.
01:09:39Five, six, seven, eight.
01:09:41One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight.
01:09:45Hi, Daddy.
01:09:47I'm so sorry to bother you at work,
01:09:49but remember you said to call you
01:09:51if Coach Carr starts picking on me again?
01:09:55One, look, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight.
01:09:59One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight.
01:10:03One, two, three, four, five, six.
01:10:06My dad wants to talk to you.
01:10:08He's booked Mr. Rydzeberg,
01:10:10and Mr. Rydzeberg says that you can't stop me
01:10:12from performing at the Crosstown Showdown.
01:10:14That if you give me demerits,
01:10:16you have to let me work them off.
01:10:18Go ahead.
01:10:20Talk to him.
01:10:28How can I coach with no authority whatsoever?
01:10:31You either need to make sure
01:10:33I have some control over the squad,
01:10:35or you tell Supervisor Tompkins
01:10:37I'll resign as cheerleading coach.
01:10:39Hi, Miss Gibbons.
01:10:41I need to see that in writing.
01:10:48You think I quit?
01:10:50That's usually what I resign means, yeah.
01:10:53Oh, Lorraine's not going to accept that resignation.
01:10:55She knows I'm a good coach.
01:10:57She just wanted me to write it down
01:10:59so she can take it to district and show them.
01:11:01Look, we have a problem.
01:11:03Did she tell you that?
01:11:06Oh, God.
01:11:08These girls are going to think I quit on them.
01:11:10I need to write them an email.
01:11:18This has been the most meaningful time of my life.
01:11:21You girls mean more to me than you will ever know.
01:11:26Mom!
01:11:28You know what to say, right?
01:11:30I'm not an idiot.
01:11:32Mom, come in here.
01:11:34Mom, Coach Carr sent us an email.
01:11:36You should read it.
01:11:38I've been trying to tell you.
01:11:40She's psycho.
01:11:42My mom says Coach Carr's an embarrassment.
01:11:44She said she's mostly embarrassed for you.
01:11:45Superintendent Tompkins told my mother
01:11:47he doesn't know why you ever hired her.
01:11:58So I read your email to the girls several times
01:12:01and I do have one question.
01:12:03You wrote,
01:12:05whether or not I continue this journey with you.
01:12:10But you do realize that your journey
01:12:12here at Jackson is over, right?
01:12:15Yes.
01:12:21May I tell the girls before I go?
01:12:23No, you may not.
01:12:25You're to leave campus immediately.
01:12:45I love you.
01:13:06I didn't want you here.
01:13:09You girls always get what you want, don't you?
01:13:11Hey, you can say that.
01:13:13You know, for a while there,
01:13:15I thought you girls were actually on your way to campus.
01:13:17Shut up.
01:13:19Get out of our school.
01:13:24I feel the most sorry for you, Brooke.
01:13:26You have so much potential
01:13:28and you just drove away the one person
01:13:30willing to help you.
01:13:32The meeting was a joke.
01:13:34Twenty-two parents signed a letter
01:13:36demanding your reinstatement
01:13:38and Mr. Studdard tried to stop us from reading it.
01:13:40And why did they bother to hold a meeting
01:13:42if they had no intention of listening to us?
01:13:44How are the girls doing?
01:13:46They feel abandoned.
01:13:48Lorraine told me you quit on them.
01:13:50It's only going to get worse.
01:13:53T.S.
01:13:55I'm sorry.
01:13:57I'm sorry.
01:13:59I'm sorry.
01:14:01The TV reporter called me.
01:14:03She's doing a story about the video on the Internet.
01:14:05And the question she asked?
01:14:07It's going to be if cheerleaders gone wild.
01:14:10What is this reporter's name?
01:14:12You're not thinking of talking to her.
01:14:14Maybe I can talk her out of doing the story.
01:14:16I doubt that. It's airing tonight.
01:14:18Well, then I better go.
01:14:20What's the station name?
01:14:22What if she asks you for an interview?
01:14:24Then I'll do an interview.
01:14:26Coach Embicar said she tried to bring order to the team,
01:14:28leveling punishments for offenses
01:14:29from skipping classes
01:14:31to posting a sexually suggestive video on the Internet.
01:14:33The Jackson High School administration
01:14:35declined our request for an interview.
01:14:37Carr said that her attempts to bring
01:14:39Why'd they blur our faces?
01:14:41punishments were thwarted by the high school principal,
01:14:43Lorraine Tippett, who has a daughter on the squad.
01:14:45Yes, I mean, some of the girls behaved badly.
01:14:47But the real problem were the adults.
01:14:49The school administration enabled them.
01:14:51The school district refused to take interest.
01:14:53And the girls' parents did everything they could
01:14:55to help them avoid consequences.
01:14:57You know, we are totally famous.
01:15:00Feeling Paris Hilton?
01:15:02More of a Lindsay Lohan vibe.
01:15:04With a touch of Britney.
01:15:06And her sister.
01:15:08Well, this could be bad.
01:15:11The school board is very unhappy about the publicity.
01:15:14Very unhappy.
01:15:16Once I realized how unstable Coach Carr was,
01:15:19I asked for her resignation.
01:15:21Well, the board has asked me
01:15:23to hire an independent investigator
01:15:25to look into discipline issues at Jackson.
01:15:26But there are no discipline issues at Jackson.
01:15:28The problem here was an immature teacher
01:15:30who wasn't up to the job
01:15:32and is now using the media to spread lies.
01:15:34Yeah, I know.
01:15:36And we're releasing a statement to that effect.
01:15:38Now, we expect the investigator
01:15:40to tell us the same thing.
01:15:46Can you assure me
01:15:48his investigation will tell us the same thing?
01:15:50I promise you, Vern.
01:15:52I will make sure that everyone in the school district
01:15:53cooperates with your investigator.
01:15:56Okay.
01:16:08It's not true that I get special treatment here.
01:16:10If anything, people are even harder on me
01:16:12because my mom's the principal.
01:16:14Oh, I would agree.
01:16:16It's not easy being the principal's daughter.
01:16:19People watch you.
01:16:20They hold her to a different standard.
01:16:22I work 40 hours a week,
01:16:24so I can't watch Tabitha every moment.
01:16:26Yet she motivates herself to get good grades,
01:16:28do volunteer work,
01:16:30and work her ass off as a cheerleader.
01:16:32She was so hot for Coach Reeve,
01:16:34she'd ignore us to flirt with him.
01:16:36Here.
01:16:38I took this picture of them on my phone.
01:16:40I know a few parents
01:16:42are asking for her reinstatement.
01:16:44And I hope they do bring her back.
01:16:46I don't know.
01:16:47Then I can sue this school
01:16:49for my daughter's emotional suffering.
01:16:53Oh, my.
01:16:55Mom, Mom, if you would just let me,
01:16:57please stop.
01:16:59Mother, just let me explain.
01:17:01I'm trying to...
01:17:03Mom!
01:17:05Al takes the heat.
01:17:07She's the most nervous.
01:17:13So is it weird?
01:17:14If you're wondering
01:17:16whether I told the truth or not, I did.
01:17:18Even though certain people
01:17:20are gonna hate me the rest of my life.
01:17:22Yeah, but other people
01:17:24are gonna respect you for telling the truth.
01:17:26Yeah, like who?
01:17:28I mean, if you haven't noticed,
01:17:30I don't have friends anymore.
01:17:32Well, you could.
01:17:34You could have a whole squad full of them.
01:17:36If you wanted them.
01:17:38Hello?
01:17:40Hello?
01:17:42Hello?
01:17:44Emma, it's Helen and Adam.
01:17:46Oh, God, it's so good to hear from you guys.
01:17:48Lorraine, you forbid everybody on staff
01:17:50to speak to you.
01:17:52You're kidding me.
01:17:54Then why are you calling?
01:17:56Well, so I can tell you how pissed I am
01:17:58that you're dragging us into this investigation thing.
01:18:00Stop it.
01:18:02He's not mad at you.
01:18:04It's just the investigator
01:18:06was grilling him about the two of you,
01:18:08asking if there was a sexual relationship,
01:18:09and now you're looking at me with him.
01:18:11Yeah, my wife wants to know
01:18:13why they're asking that question.
01:18:15Oh, God, I am so sorry.
01:18:17I don't see the point of all this, Emma.
01:18:19It's not like you're gonna be able to take Lorraine down.
01:18:21I'm not trying to take her down.
01:18:23I'm just trying to change things for the girls.
01:18:25You should be trying to get your job back.
01:18:27I just hope this investigator's
01:18:29gonna find out the truth.
01:18:31They didn't hire him to find the truth, Emma.
01:18:40You look a little uncomfortable.
01:18:43That's because I am uncomfortable.
01:18:46With the process or with me?
01:18:48Oh, I welcome the process.
01:18:50I just don't trust you.
01:18:52From what I hear,
01:18:54you've been paid to hang me out to dry.
01:18:56This isn't a very auspicious start.
01:18:59Well, you did say you wanted me to be honest.
01:19:02Yes, I did.
01:19:04What are you doing here?
01:19:06Talking to the investigator.
01:19:08He's not gonna believe a word you said.
01:19:11Do you know what all this means for you?
01:19:14My life is exactly the way I want it to be.
01:19:17I don't want to be a bad mother.
01:19:20I don't want to be a bad wife.
01:19:23I don't want to be a bad husband.
01:19:25I don't want to be a bad wife.
01:19:28I don't want to be a bad wife.
01:19:30means for you? My life is exactly the way I want it to be. Is that right? With this
01:19:38video of you and the internet and the stories in the media, do you really think
01:19:42that USC is gonna accept you as a student, let alone a song girl?
01:19:48After conducting over 70 interviews, I believe I have identified the source of
01:20:01the problems with the cheerleading program. As you know, the most recent
01:20:04coach, Emma Carr, quit in an untimely fashion, then unwisely took her accounts
01:20:09to the media. However, I find her actions understandable, given the problems she
01:20:17encountered at Jackson, problems centered on a popular group of
01:20:21cheerleaders who were highly resistant to authority. These girls were literally
01:20:25given carte blanche to behave as they pleased by their parents and by the
01:20:30school administration. Regrettably, I found that Jackson's
01:20:35principal, Lorraine Tippett, failed to juggle two of the most important
01:20:38responsibilities in her life, principal and mother. And it is she who is
01:20:45accountable for the situation we find ourselves in today.
01:21:00Entertaining. Why aren't the four of you in class? We're just waiting for my mom to get out of her meeting.
01:21:06And of course this takes all four of you. That's the fab four of you, Reeve.
01:21:15I have been placed on suspension, and so has Mr. Spretnik. The report faulted me,
01:21:35but all I've ever tried to do is keep you out of this mess. You know what, don't
01:21:40blame us because your investigator turned out to be a stupid moron. You know what,
01:21:44Brooke, you'll never talk to me like that again. Now go clean out your locker. For what?
01:21:49Because I'm pulling you out of this school. Like hell you are! This is my school in my senior year!
01:21:54Not anymore, it's not. Go clean out your locker. Or what? Or your mother is gonna drag you to it by your hair.
01:22:14Excuse me, Ms. Tippett, what about us? I don't know what your parents are gonna do with you.
01:22:22You're definitely gonna be removed from the squad.
01:22:26Your cheerleading days in this district are over.
01:22:29Come on, let me get that for you. Yeah, here you go. Don't watch them.
01:22:59Of course I'm disappointed Superintendent Tompkins decided not to let me have my job back. I loved
01:23:26being a coach. I loved being a teacher. But this whole thing, it's not about me. And I know you
01:23:33guys are going to continue to call this a real life Mean Girls story, but it's not even about
01:23:38what the girls did. It's about how they felt entitled to the way they were being treated
01:23:43by the lack of boundaries. And I think all of us, we have an obligation to set boundaries and
01:23:50stick by them.
01:23:56So you'd be happier. The report vindicated you.
01:24:01Yeah, jobs were lost, reputations were ruined. But for what? And what difference did I really make?
01:24:21Maybe I shouldn't be here. You were invited. Yeah, by Janice. But what if the girls don't
01:24:26want me to be here? But if you don't want to say hi to the girls because you think it's
01:24:30going to make them uncomfortable, we can just watch them perform and go.
01:24:39I know.
01:24:49How are you? You got here just in time.
01:25:08We're so glad to have you here, but we're on next. Okay, we'll see you after. Okay. Okay,
01:25:29good luck, you guys.
01:25:49In Sydney's English class, she was given an assignment to write an essay about the person
01:25:54she most admired for overcoming adversity. And she picked you. She wrote about how brave you were
01:26:00for standing up for the school district. She might print you out a copy.
01:26:05And now entering our Southwest regionals for the very first time, let's give it up for Jackson High.
01:26:24So
01:27:24good.
