Three secondary school students are missing after the boat they were travelling in sank in Sungai Kayan at Kampung Selampit, Lundu in Sarawak on Tuesday (Aug 20) morning.

00:00Three secondary school students are missing after their boat sank in Sungai Kayan Lundu
00:07on Tuesday morning.
00:09According to the State Fire and Rescue Department, the boat, ferrying between 10 and 20 students,
00:15sank at approximately 6.10 a.m.
00:18The department received a distress call at 6.33 a.m. and dispatched seven personnels
00:23to the scene.
00:24One of the students, a 16-year-old boy initially reported missing, was later found safe by
00:29villagers.
00:30The missing students include a 15-year-old boy and two girls, aged 14 and 17.
00:36The search for them is ongoing, with fire and rescue personnel collaborating with local
00:41villagers.
00:42The department has also deployed its water rescue unit and a dog from the canine unit
00:47to assist in the search efforts.
