00:00Berlin says it's going to slash its planned aid budget to Ukraine for next year, down
00:05from 7.5 billion euros this year to just 4 billion euros in 2025.
00:13Experts suggest that other countries may now have to step up their military aid if the
00:17deficit left behind by Germany is to be made up.
00:21It means that Poland and the UK will become Ukraine's biggest donors in Europe, with the
00:25US the top donor overall.
00:55Since 2022, the EU and its member states have donated 38 billion euros of military
01:09aid, of which 28 billion euros have come from Germany.
01:14And Germany's armed forces have also sent 5 billion euros worth of munitions.
01:19The G7, which brings together the seven largest economies in the world, is discussing the
01:23possibility of using some of the $300 billion of frozen Russian assets to supply Ukraine.
01:31But experts say this could be politically difficult.
01:53If Kamala
02:22Harris wins the US election in November, she said military aid to Ukraine will keep
02:26flowing at roughly the same level.
02:28But Donald Trump has vowed to make a big cut.
02:31And if he wins, it would be disastrous for Kiev.
