00:00There's the first reason is pure safety and survivability, right?
00:04You know, because obviously not believing black women historically has had really
00:09detrimental effects on our lives and the lives of our family and community.
00:12The other thing is, is that I think that we have a very powerful and a very unique perspective.
00:18We've had to support a lot of other people's campaigns, you know, and we've seen
00:22society from a lot of different aspects in a lot of different places.
00:26I have a theory about that.
00:27But and so I just think that, you know, when you do that, you're just creating a healthier society.
00:35Our blessing is really in community and supporting each other.
00:38It's not just believing black women, but believing in black women
00:42and having a having a real curiosity about the lives of black women, you know.
00:48And I think and an invested curiosity, right?
00:52Like it's more than a notion to, oh, OK, there she is over there.
00:57But what is your life like? What are you going through?
01:00Whenever anybody injects something positive and something that will build you up and
01:07something that will believe in you, that affects everyone.
01:11I think that and it just hit me, you know, with the whole Kamala Harris of it all,
01:16that black people were even talking about her, you know, in the beginning.
01:21They didn't believe that she should be president.
01:23They didn't believe that she should be, you know, and that says it all.
01:27And that's heartbreaking.
01:29It's heartbreaking, you know, that we are put in a situation not to even believe ourselves.
01:34When a black woman tells you to believe her, believe her.
