00:00:30Throughout the history of medicine we have witnessed some incredible milestones and miracles,
00:00:51but now it looks like we may be on the verge of one of the most important medical discoveries
00:00:57of the century, thanks to Dr. Jane Dunning,
00:01:01also known as the mother of neurosurgery
00:01:04and her team of researchers.
00:01:06Thank you very much on behalf of my colleagues.
00:01:09Well, let's just say that we may have already
00:01:11crossed the threshold, although it's taken us
00:01:14nearly 10 years and the whole story
00:01:16is still rather experimental.
00:01:21After many obstacles and dead ends,
00:01:23this Aftermath Project has encountered,
00:01:25we are now able to really get to the bottom of it all
00:01:28for the first time.
00:01:30We had to realize that we only saw a very small part
00:01:34of the entire picture so far.
00:01:37Several tests and the most accurate calculations
00:01:39are still needed to be able to say exactly
00:01:42what we have achieved, but I dare say
00:01:44that we have managed to reach new dimensions.
00:01:48This film was made with the support of
00:01:50the National Institute of Neurosurgery
00:01:52and the European Union.

00:04:12Kate, what the hell is happening?
00:04:14You were supposed to hand in the material last night.
00:04:16You know very well that this was the third deadline.
00:04:18I am well aware of that, yes.
00:04:21But then...
00:04:22Do you know why I know that, Robbie?
00:04:25It's Robbie, right?
00:04:26Um, yeah, but...
00:04:28Cause probably I'm the only person who's been working on this crap
00:04:31for nearly five years.
00:04:34Kate, I didn't...
00:04:45Two and a half, but...
00:05:03We'll have thousands of dollars in commission at each other at the end of the year.
00:05:06While I've been working on the same crappy computer for what?
00:05:10Five years now.
00:05:12So do me a favor and don't call me every ten minutes.
00:05:17Asshole.
00:05:33Oh, shit.

00:12:58Come with me, or else there'll be nothing left of you by tomorrow morning.
00:13:03Thank you. Thank you for saving me.
00:13:07It won't be worth much if you don't get up now and we don't get out of here.
00:13:12Let's hurry. They'll be here soon.
00:13:33Wait a minute.
00:13:35If you don't want to get caught by those assholes,
00:13:38you better hurry up.
00:13:41There's a hideout not too far from here where we can rest for a while.
00:13:45What is this place?
00:13:48I don't know.
00:13:50How did you get here?
00:13:51I woke up here.
00:13:53I can't remember anything at all.
00:13:56I don't know what happened to me.
00:13:59I only found a necklace and a photo of a woman in my pocket.
00:14:03Have you checked your pocket?
00:14:06Have you checked your pocket?
00:14:19This is me and also my...
00:14:26Don't close your eyes.
00:14:28It'll only get worse.
00:14:30Don't close your eyes.
00:14:32Don't close your eyes.
00:14:34It will go away on its own in a minute.
00:14:47How did you know that?
00:14:49I had the same thing happen to me.
00:14:53Your family?
00:14:55I don't know.
00:15:04She's a beautiful girl.
00:15:23Sophie, Kate and Peter.
00:15:26You remember your name now?
00:15:35Kate, honey?
00:15:37Yes?
00:15:41Kate.
00:15:43My name is Kate.
00:15:45That's half the battle.
00:15:48What's your name?
00:15:50What's your name?
00:15:53Booba.
00:15:55I am your memory.
00:15:57I mean, you know who you are.
00:16:12Let's go.
00:16:14The hideout is not far from here.
00:16:20Let's go.
00:16:51She has a companion.
00:16:56More fugitives have been caught, sir.
00:16:59Go back and wait for the order.
00:17:01Yes, commander.
00:17:03Move.
00:17:21Move.
00:17:28Status report.
00:17:29We're very close, sir.
00:17:31I'm sure I don't need to tell you how important it is we find this target.
00:17:34I am aware of the gravity of the situation.
00:17:37You'll only really know, commander, when the target starts to remember.
00:17:41And have no doubt that she will remember.
00:17:44We will stop her, sir.
00:17:46Sooner or later she finds what she's looking for.
00:17:49It could be fatal for this place and for all of us.
00:17:54The clock is ticking, commander.
00:18:20Take this.
00:18:23I took it from one of the soldiers.
00:18:26Thanks.
00:19:33How did you find this place?
00:19:36Like I said, I woke up not too far from here.
00:19:44What is this all about?
00:19:47I mean...
00:19:49What is this place?
00:19:51And why us?
00:19:54I don't know.
00:19:57But that's not the only interesting thing.
00:20:03Do you have a watch?
00:20:07What's the time?
00:20:091107.
00:20:18And now?
00:20:19But I just...
00:20:20And now?
00:20:25What the hell?
00:20:26What the hell is happening here?
00:20:30This is impossible.
00:20:33I'd be worried about that too.
00:20:36Not just those dickheads.
00:20:40Maybe this is all some kind of experiment.
00:20:44And we are the subject.
00:20:47Maybe.
00:20:49We can't rule that out.
00:20:55Have you seen anyone else but us?
00:20:58I mean people who didn't have EJ trigger fingers.
00:21:02I mean people who didn't have EJ trigger fingers.
00:21:05I mean people who didn't have EJ trigger fingers.
00:21:09No one.
00:21:20Could she be your wife?
00:21:25I don't know.
00:21:28Maybe.
00:21:31I...
00:21:33I just feel that she's very important to me.
00:21:38Deep inside.
00:21:49These photos cannot be coincidental.
00:21:52A memory for you, a memory for me.
00:21:56There must be a reason.
00:22:09It's almost over.
00:22:12It's almost over.
00:22:39It's almost over.
00:22:44It was an accident.
00:22:46I was sitting in my car and suddenly there was another car right in front of me.
00:22:53When I woke up.
00:22:56Where I woke up.
00:22:58Yeah?
00:22:59There was a car.
00:23:01The front was damaged.
00:23:03And there was a big smoke.
00:23:07I wanted to take a closer look.
00:23:10But I got distracted.
00:23:12Do you know where the car is?
00:23:14Yes, I do.
00:23:16It's not too far from here.
00:23:19Then let's go.
00:23:20Let's not wait any longer.
00:23:25Come on.
00:23:27Let's go.
00:23:28Now.
00:23:29I have to find her first.
00:23:37Let's go.
00:23:45From here, if you go straight ahead, you have to cross two small clearance.
00:23:51After the second one, keep right along the forest path and you'll find the car.
00:23:58What about you?
00:24:00I can take care of myself.
00:24:04Take this.
00:24:05It's easy to handle.
00:24:07Aim and shoot.
00:24:10But you only have three bullets left.
00:24:13So be careful.
00:24:15We shouldn't split up.
00:24:16I know.
00:24:17Find the car.
00:24:19See if you can find the answers to your questions.
00:24:22And we'll meet back here in two hours time.
00:24:26Be very careful.
00:24:28They may be watching you from the air.
00:24:32If you see them, hide.
00:24:36We have to focus on finding a way out of here.
00:24:39We don't stand a chance against them.
00:25:32Let's go.
00:26:02No.
00:26:32No.
00:27:02These are my photos.
00:28:32Hi, Kate.
00:28:54It's...
00:28:55Dad?
00:28:56Martin.
00:28:58Your phone is switched off, so I'm trying to send you this message.
00:29:02Pete just called a few minutes ago.
00:29:06Look, I don't know what's going on between you two right now, and I wouldn't like to get into it.
00:29:14I know it's not my business anymore.
00:29:18But as soon as you get this message, give him a call.
00:29:22He is...
00:29:25very worried about you.
00:29:27I can hear it in his voice.
00:29:34They're your family, Kate.
00:29:37They love you very much.
00:29:43Okay, um...
00:29:46We should also talk again at some point.
00:29:49Like we used to.
00:29:56My father and daughter.
00:29:59Call me anytime.
00:30:02I'm always here.
00:30:07Bye, little girl.
00:30:37Bye.
00:31:07Bye.
00:31:37Bye.
00:32:07Bye.
00:32:38Bye.
00:32:40Bye.
00:33:08Bye.
00:33:10Bye.
00:33:37Commander.
00:33:44We have terminated four fugitives.
00:33:47And the woman?
00:33:48We're looking for her.
00:33:50That's not good enough.
00:33:53You killed Beta.
00:33:56Don't wait until her memories come back, because the consequences will be severe to our world.
00:34:03Failure is not an option.
00:35:03Fuck.
00:35:22Oh, shit.
00:35:24Oh, my God.
00:35:31Fuck.

00:37:16This isn't possible.
00:37:29This is impossible.
00:37:31This cannot be happening.
00:37:41Why?
00:37:42Why me?
00:38:12Please, someone help me.
00:38:21I don't know where to go.
00:38:40I don't know where to go.
00:39:09I don't know where to go.
00:39:38I don't know where to go.
00:40:08Kate.
00:40:31I know where she's going.
00:40:35In fact, I always knew.
00:40:40Let's go.

00:46:38Oh, my God.
00:46:39Oh, my God.
00:46:40Oh, my God.
00:46:41Oh, my God.
00:46:42Oh, my God.
00:46:43Oh, my God.
00:46:44Oh, my God.
00:46:45I have no business with you.
00:47:12You proved to be a great fighter.
00:47:22You deserve not to die alone.
00:47:53Peter.
00:47:54Peter.
00:47:55Peter, where are you?
00:47:56Throughout the history of medicine, we have witnessed some incredible milestones and miracles.
00:48:25But now, it looks like we may be on the verge of one of the most important medical discoveries
00:48:31of the century.
00:48:32Thanks to Dr. Jane Studding, also known as the mother of neurosurgery, and her team of
00:48:33researchers.
00:48:34Thank you very much on behalf of my colleagues.
00:48:35Well, let's just say that we may have already crossed the threshold, although it's taken
00:48:36us nearly ten years and the whole story is still rather experimental.
00:48:37After many obstacles and dead ends this aftermath project has encountered, we are now able to
00:49:00really get to the bottom of it all for the first time.
00:49:04We had to realize that we only saw a very small part of the entire picture so far.
00:49:09Several tests and the most accurate calculations are still needed to be able to say exactly
00:49:16what we have achieved.
00:49:17But, I dare say that we have managed to reach new dimensions and to transform them.
00:49:22The aftermath project has succeeded in modeling the brain activity of comatose patients and
00:49:28actually put their minds in a new environment.
00:49:31It's worth thinking of it all as a kind of cryo-state in which the patient can live a
00:49:37sort of life while their body and mind continue to struggle to wake up.
00:49:41However, the most effective way to do this was always to place the consciousness in question
00:49:47in a familiar and usual context.
00:51:01Can't you see what is happening to our family?
00:51:12I don't want to rot here, do you?
00:51:15I'm just trying to do what's better for everyone.
00:51:17I'm just thinking of Sophie, you know?
00:51:20So we would have a better life.
00:51:23Don't you think that we deserve something better than this?
00:51:25Because I do.
00:51:27I would like to be for everything.
00:51:30And I don't think that's too much to ask.
00:51:39But you have night and I have no day.
00:51:43Last week she was waiting for you.
00:51:46Until midnight.
00:51:48She couldn't sleep a wink.
00:51:50She couldn't sleep a wink.
00:51:56On her own birthday, she made a present for you.
00:52:06Mum is coming home.
00:52:08What?
00:52:15She gave it this title.
00:52:20She gave it this title.
00:52:22She gave it this title.
00:52:25She gave it this title.

00:53:48She gave it this title.
00:53:50She gave it this title.
00:53:52She gave it this title.
00:53:54She gave it this title.
00:54:14Mass accident.
00:54:15One of the cars was trying to turn around on the road but it stalled when the accident
00:54:20happened. None of the passengers were wearing seatbelts and all four suffered severe head
00:54:25injuries and died before the ambulance arrived.
00:54:46The driver of the other car, a young woman, is in a coma but in a stable condition.
00:55:01We revived her three times.
00:55:15The driver of the other car, a young woman, is in a coma but in a stable condition.
00:55:45The driver of the other car, a young woman, is in a coma but in a stable condition.
00:56:04A motorcyclist was also involved in the accident. He slipped on the spilled oil.
00:56:09His wife is waiting in the corridor so please keep her informed and tell her that we are
00:56:13doing everything that we can for her husband.
00:56:34It's an interesting situation.
00:56:39We must let you live so that we can live too. After all, everything depends on you.
00:56:56Kate.
00:57:03Then I have the power to end it all.
00:57:06Do you hear it?
00:57:10That's it. Me neither.
00:57:13Nothing has changed.
00:57:16You are here. We are here. And this world is here.
00:57:20And all because you can't change a thing.
00:57:24You have become an undeniable part of this world.
00:57:28And now you are coming with us.

01:01:00Have you given the title to your painting?
01:01:03Mummy's coming home.
01:01:04That sounds good.
01:03:34Hi, honey.
01:03:52Oh, hi.
01:03:57Finally, no rides for a week.
01:03:59No ports, no traffic jams, no hassle.
01:04:02I'm glad you're finally home.
01:04:11Sorry, I need to pick this up.
01:04:14Hello?
01:04:34Sorry, just a call from work.
01:04:36It's okay.
01:04:38I already solved it, though.
01:04:46Hey.
01:04:47Kate.
01:04:49What happened up there?
01:04:55I don't understand.
01:05:09I'm almost completely used to this place.
01:05:13Service paintings.
01:05:16Repeating after a while.
01:05:18Your exact work schedule.
01:05:22The fact that I have to scroll through the calendar less than usual.
01:05:27Strange, but you love that, so real.
01:05:33And yet...
01:05:37What happened up there?
01:05:47He warned me that this day might come.
01:05:50Who?
01:05:54It's all part of an experiment.
01:06:02It's in its third phase.
01:06:06So it cannot be perfect yet.
01:06:13Its leader has volunteered to supervise everything we do after he fully recovered from the accident.
01:06:22Volunteered who?
01:06:25Dr. Booba Edwards.
01:06:28He and his wife have taken over the project from the woman who dreamed it all up.
01:06:37With him on board, it progressed more in a few weeks than ever before.
01:06:44He told me that he met you at the moment of your death.
01:06:49I couldn't believe him.
01:06:53For a while.
01:07:00What happened to me?
01:07:08You woke up from the coma.
01:07:13But your condition rapidly worsened.
01:07:20And you had to be put back on the machines.
01:07:25Shortly afterwards, I was contacted by Dr. Dunning to authorize your participation in the aftermath project.
01:07:36In return, I have occasionally been part of the simulation for...
01:07:44For these years.
01:07:48For years?
01:07:54Yes.
01:08:02How long since then?
01:08:07Kate, I...
01:08:08Peter, how long?
01:08:17The simulation has been running for...
01:08:22For five years and three months.
01:08:26According to the time frame here.
01:08:31Up there, days go by four times as fast, so...
01:08:40Twenty-one years.
01:08:44Yes.
01:08:49And Sophie?
01:08:52Is she okay? How is she doing? Is she happy?
01:09:09He's our grandson.
01:09:13His name is Peter, too.
01:09:20I couldn't talk her out of it.
01:09:24She insisted on the name.
01:09:30They're so big.
01:09:38And they're real.
01:09:42And...
01:09:48Please tell Brooklyn that...
01:09:52I appreciate everything he did.
01:09:55I'll be forever in his debt.
01:09:58Seems he saved me twice.
01:10:08I think you do.
01:10:14Peter, you have to let me go now.
01:10:19For Sophie.
01:10:22For Peter.
01:10:26For yourself.
01:10:29For the two of us.
01:10:34You have to let me go.
01:10:37You have to let me go.
01:10:41You have to let me go.
01:11:07You have to let me go.
01:11:37You have to let me go.
01:12:07You have to let me go.
01:12:10You have to let me go.
01:12:13You have to let me go.
01:12:16You have to let me go.
01:12:19You have to let me go.
01:12:22You have to let me go.
01:12:25You have to let me go.
01:12:28You have to let me go.
01:12:31You have to let me go.
01:12:34You have to let me go.
01:12:37You have to let me go.
01:12:40You have to let me go.
01:12:43You have to let me go.
01:12:46You have to let me go.
01:12:49You have to let me go.
01:12:52You have to let me go.
01:12:55You have to let me go.
01:12:58You have to let me go.
01:13:01You have to let me go.
01:13:04You have to let me go.
01:13:07You have to let me go.
01:13:10You have to let me go.
01:13:13You have to let me go.
01:13:16You have to let me go.
01:13:19You have to let me go.
01:13:22You have to let me go.
01:13:25You have to let me go.
01:13:29Running out of time in a dusty line
01:13:33Filling in the seat with a ball of spine
01:13:38Limits cloning
01:13:41For a moment just to see
01:13:45Soul explosion
01:13:48All the way to me
01:13:53Holding the sun
01:13:56Like you do in sunny days
01:13:59I want to go the way you did
01:14:02Turn around and see what you made
01:14:06A liar in disguise
01:14:26You have to let me go
01:14:33You have to let me go
01:14:41Maybe in a different world
01:14:44There's a fire burning deep in our eyes
01:14:47A symphony of dark and strange
01:14:50Painting feelings of love
01:14:52Once we struggled to save
01:14:56An ordinary touch of warmth
01:14:59Softly settles within each of our lives
01:15:02The absence of a modest view
01:15:04Caterpillars of truth
01:15:06That we lost in our dream
01:15:11Thinking about somebody else
01:15:14Maybe I'm wrong
01:15:18Your hero's the dead
01:15:22We buried them a hundred miles ago
01:15:27No one to see
01:15:29I'm all terrible alone
01:15:34Running out of time in a dusty line
01:15:38Filling in the seat with a ball of spine
01:15:42Limits cloning
01:15:46For a moment just to see
01:15:49The soul explodes
01:15:52You're far away from me
01:15:57Holding the sun
01:16:00Like you never in sunny days
01:16:03I want to run away from you
01:16:06Turn around and see what you made
01:16:11A liar in disguise
01:16:19A liar in disguise
01:16:24A liar in disguise
01:16:31A liar in disguise
01:16:38A little more than saving words
01:16:41Found another way to feel alright
01:16:44It doesn't really matter at all
01:16:46That we're not gonna say
01:16:48What it's doing to me
01:16:53Maybe I'm a little sad
01:16:55From the mention of a beautiful life
01:16:58The feeling that I'd forget it all
01:17:01For the one who dispelled all the anger in me
01:17:08Thinking about somebody else
01:17:11Maybe I'm wrong
01:17:14Your hero's the dead
01:17:18We buried them a hundred miles ago
01:17:23No one to see
01:17:26I'm all terrible alone
01:17:30Running out of time in a dusty line
01:17:34Filling in the seat with a ball of spine
01:17:39Limits cloning
01:17:42For a moment just to see
01:17:46So easy to hold you
01:17:49All the way
