00:00Yeah, as you say, Olympic medal, silver, just 10 days ago.
00:04And Henri was only appointed last summer, but he's taken the decision to step down.
00:09He says it's for personal reasons.
00:11He hasn't divulged any further details.
00:14When he was appointed, he had one main objective,
00:16and that was to win a medal at Paris 2024.
00:20And he's more than fulfilled that contract.
00:23The French Olympic team hadn't won a medal since 1984.
00:26So silver is a huge achievement for them.
00:29He was also dealt a bit of a blow.
00:31He couldn't have the players he wanted.
00:33There were numerous withdrawals from the squad, Mbappé, Griezmann, Barcola,
00:37just to name a few.
00:38And despite that, Thierry Henry was able to put together a side
00:42to win a first Olympic medal in 40 years.
00:45He said that winning that medal was one of the proudest moments in his life.
00:50I'll bring you through some stats.
00:51He coached a total of 17 matches,
00:54more than respectable record of 12 wins, two draws and three defeats.
00:58It was the first time he'd had a head coaching role in a few years.
01:00He'd been assistant coach for Belgium.
01:02So it'll be interesting to see what the next step in the career of Thierry Henry is.
01:05Yeah, quite an icon, Thierry Henry.
01:07Let's go then from football to cricket now, Leo,
01:10because England have announced their side for their first test against Sri Lanka.
01:15And it wasn't particularly straightforward.
01:17Yeah, normally these sides for the last two years under Brendan McCullum
01:21and Ben Stokes have been very straightforward decisions.
01:24We've known a few weeks out what XI they're going to select,
01:27not the case at this time.
01:29I can try and show you the XI that they've decided to go with now.
01:34Dan Lawrence is going to open in the place of the injured Zach Crawley.
01:37The Surry batter has never opened in test cricket before.
01:40In fact, in county cricket, he always bats in the middle order.
01:44We knew that was going to happen a few weeks ago
01:46since Crawley sustained that injury against the West Indies.
01:49But the big decision that they had to make and the biggest decision
01:52they've had to make since Ben Stokes took over as captain is how to replace him
01:55because he was injured just last week.
01:57And with him losing him, they lose not only a captain, but an all-rounder.
02:01So the question is, who do you bring in?
02:03Do you bring a like for like?
02:03They've decided not to do that.
02:05They had two options, bring in an extra bowler or bring in an extra batter.
02:08They've gone with the extra bowler with Matthew Potts
02:12and he'll be replaced as captain by Ollie Pope.
02:14His first time captain in his country, only 26 years old.
02:19So a big opportunity for those two players coming in, Matthew Potts and Dan Lawrence.
02:22And we'll have to see how they go.
02:24That series starts in Manchester on Wednesday.
