00:00Good evening, New Life Covenant Church and all our viewers in Harare and around the world.
00:20Thank you for being with us for our midweek Bible study.
00:24I started a series last week on the blood and we talked about the journey of the blood
00:30in a basic nutshell.
00:32So what we're going to do now in this lesson, we're going to teach on the subject, the sprinkling
00:40of blood, how to appropriate the blood, the sprinkling of blood, how to appropriate the
00:48blood.
00:49And so our scripture reading is taken from Revelation 12 and verse 11.
00:58And they overcame him by the blood of the lamb and by the word of their testimony, and
01:04they loved not their lives unto death.
01:08So we'll take this scripture from the end of Revelation to the translation of Israel
01:16from slavery into deliverance and freedom.
01:23And so in chapter number 12 of the book of Exodus, we have here the preparation for the
01:34Passover.
01:37So the Passover then is going to be a lamb separated.
01:41The blood was going to be shed, blood was going to be applied on the doorposts.
01:50And when the death angel would pass, all the firstborn where the blood was, would be saved.
01:59There's something I want to add here that, because I'll forget as we go along.
02:04There were individuals that were what is called the mixed race, the mixed multitude,
02:11say mixed multitude.
02:13The mixed multitude were those half Egyptian, half Jew.
02:19These were offspring that came from like rape cases where Egyptian slave drivers abused
02:30raped women and children were born.
02:32Those children could not live in Egypt.
02:35They had to live in the Hebrew camp.
02:39And so they too, if they were under a roof that had blood, they were saved.
02:46Even some Egyptians that may have been good slave owners, whatever that means.
02:51If they were under a roof that had blood, they will be saved.
02:55This was not for Jews only.
02:57It was for anybody that was under the blood.
03:01If there was a neglectful family, Jewish people, that did not apply the blood on their doorpost,
03:08their firstborn would die.
03:10And so every firstborn that was saved by the blood belonged to God.
03:16Every firstborn, the first belongs to God.
03:20And so this was also applied to tithing.
03:23Tithing is not 10%.
03:25Tithing is the first tenth because now that's a work of faith.
03:30It belongs to God.
03:31God is always first.
03:34And so this scripture here, they overcame him.
03:38That's Pharaoh.
03:40They overcame him.
03:41In our case, the devil.
03:43They overcame him, Jesus, Lucifer, and his system.
03:48So here when the Bible says in an Old Testament Jewish Egyptian case, they overcame Pharaoh
03:54by the blood of the lamb, the blood that was put on the doorpost.
03:58And by the word of their testimony, the word of their testimony, we are no longer slaves.
04:03We are free.
04:04That's my testimony.
04:06I'm no longer a slave.
04:07I'm free.
04:09I'm no longer a slave.
04:10I'm free.
04:12And they loved not their lives unto death.
04:15And so they were willing literally to give their lives for this freedom.
04:20So let's look at the levels of blood now in this deliverance, all right?
04:26The first blood is now applied on the doorpost.
04:31They then leave the promised land.
04:34Watch me now.
04:36As they're coming towards the Red Sea, if any woman has had a baby here, just before
04:44the baby is born, there's what they definitely they call a show of blood.
04:50And then the midwives know that the baby is ready to push.
04:55So now can a nation be born in one day?
04:58So Egypt was a giant womb that grew a nation.
05:04It took 430 years for a nation to grow, nine months for a human baby, 21 months for an
05:13elephant to grow a nation to full term was 400 years.
05:21This baby was overdue because the midwife Moses was delayed.
05:29And so the baby had to wait for the midwife to come to deliver the baby.
05:35So now as the plagues are coming, now they're pushing.
05:40That's the first contraction, the first plague.
05:43The second contraction, then they start getting more frequent.
05:46Now when the baby starts coming, the Red Sea, as it splits, that's now where the baby comes
05:54through her mother.
05:55The Red Sea opens like this and the baby is now birthed from a dark womb through the waters
06:03as the waters broke into a new world.
06:08The nation was born in one day, God's people, God's son, Israel.
06:16How did they overcome?
06:18By the blood.
06:21God then covered the Red Sea.
06:24How did he do that?
06:25He allowed the Egyptians who were the womb, he allowed the Egyptians to get into the Red
06:32Sea when the passageway which the baby was closing, the Egyptians died and Miriam rejoiced
06:40because the afterbirth came out and that womb was destroyed.
06:48No longer could they go back to Egypt and be grown into a nation.
06:54Now to seal the deal, Israel had to be circumcised.
06:59That means they had to be marked for ministry.
07:04And so leading up to that circumcision, that was now at Mount Sinai.
07:11Now when we get to Mount Sinai, watch me, when we get to Mount Sinai, they were told
07:16to wash, Moses goes up to the mountain to get the law on how this family has to be governed.
07:26What they're doing now down in the valley where they are gathered, Moses in the mountain,
07:34they then resort to the works of the flesh and Aaron leads them in worshipping idols,
07:41which is Egypt.
07:43And so what happens is when Moses comes down, he breaks the law because no man can actually
07:49keep it.
07:50He breaks the law, he then takes the golden calf, they grind it into powder, put it into
07:58the water and gold dust put in water turns red and they had to drink that water as an
08:05atonement.
08:07Then they then said, all those on the Lord's side, you have to now kill the 3000 people
08:16that were responsible for this work of the flesh.
08:19They were dancing naked, so the sons of Levi, which became the priests, they were responsible.
08:26They killed 3000 people on that day.
08:30That 3000 people is what you see on the day of Pentecost that received the Holy Spirit.
08:36But watch this, this now comes to the book of Galatians, cutting those 3000 was circumcision.
08:45Circumcision is a work of the flesh.
08:48Paul says, when you are circumcised, you cut off the works of the flesh, Galatians
08:57chapter number five and verse 19.
08:59So those 3000 had to be killed, blood had to be shed so that the nation could be circumcised
09:07and named.
09:08They had to be circumcised and named.
09:12That blood was very important.
09:15When that blood was shed, then Moses gave them the law of Passover and then the first
09:22feast of atonement.
09:24Their Passover celebration in Egypt was basically a hand over, it was not forgiveness of sins,
09:34it was the saving of life.
09:37The atonement was yet to come.
09:39And so let's look at what this actually meant now in terms of the sprinkling of blood.
09:45Before there could be the feast of atonement, Moses had to build the tabernacle, which he
09:50did.
09:51Once the tabernacle was built in three levels, courtyard, holy place, holiest of holies,
09:57we've studied that before.
09:59In the holiest of holies, they placed a mercy seat.
10:02Before any of those rituals could be performed, as we dealt with in the first lesson, they
10:07had to prepare the priesthood.
10:10The priesthood began with Aaron and his sons.
10:15They had to dress a certain way because you cannot come before the Lord with filthy rags
10:22or your righteousness.
10:24They had to be dressed in a certain way.
10:26And Aaron had to be trained and schooled as to how to come into the presence of the Lord.
10:32And he was taught simply how to apply the blood in what is called the ceremony of the
10:39sprinkling of blood.
10:41And so he applied the blood as we talked about in the last lesson, seven times on seven pieces
10:47of furniture, seven times on seven pieces of furniture, that's 49.
10:53The 50th one was the blood on his hands laid on the remaining lamb to bring jubilee.
11:02So the people could be jubilant that their sins are totally forgiven.
11:07So now we come to Jesus, okay?
11:10Jesus comes into Jerusalem riding on a donkey.
11:15He then raises Lazarus from the dead as a sign that I'm going to be raised from the
11:23dead not many days from now.
11:26He then celebrates the Passover, which is a thanksgiving for life.
11:32They have a Paschal lamb.
11:34Jesus actually is eating in type his own flesh in this lamb and demonstrates to his disciples
11:41from now on, you will not be eating this lamb, the physical lamb and animal.
11:47You will be eating this lamb, my flesh and drinking my blood.
11:51It will be in bread and in wine.
11:54This bread will be my flesh.
11:57This wine will be my blood.
11:59This is old, this is new.
12:02So now the lamb has to be prepared for a sacrifice.
12:08So now the sacrifice is being prepared.
12:10The first thing now, Jesus goes to Gethsemane.
12:15When he's in Gethsemane and he begins to pray, they are in three groups.
12:20The first one, the eight that slept in the courtyards, the three that went with him that
12:27slept were in the holy place.
12:30Jesus went a step further into the holiest of holies where the Ark of the Covenant was.
12:36And when he prayed, the Bible says his sweat was so heavy, his blood capacities collapsed
12:45and blood started coming out of his head.
12:48What was happening now, he was pulling down strongholds and every high thought that acknowledges
12:55itself against the knowledge of Christ.
12:58So now the strongholds of demonic thinking were being pulled out from bloodshed here.
13:04So the blood was coming up down into his eyes to change what we see into his ears,
13:10to change what we hear through his nose, to change how we discern into his mouth.
13:15And he goes three times to the disciples, won't you come and pray with me for one hour,
13:22one for the soul, one for the flesh, one for the soul, one for the spirit.
13:28So when he had prayed for the flesh, for the soul, for the spirit, having shed blood for
13:33those three from his head, that's when they arrived to arrest him.
13:39When they arrested him, they beat him in his face with a rod, which means now everything
13:47that had taken place from Genesis all the way to Malachi, where human beings were humiliated
13:54by being beaten down into the ground by the staff, the rod of the devil who will smite
14:03people and keep them on the ground.
14:05Jesus took that beating in his head to lift up our head.
14:10So when he says, lift up your heads, O ye gates, this is what's happening now.
14:14We had to endure that beating so we could lift it up, lift up our heads, say, lift up
14:20your heads, O ye gates.
14:23So lift up your heads, O ye gates, and be lifted up, you everlasting doors.
14:28And so they struck him in the face.
14:31When he then went to see the priests and the Roman soldiers, they then plucked out
14:36his beard.
14:37So blood was now coming out of his face from his beard, which meant that the beard speaks
14:44of leadership and maturity.
14:46So he was now storing leadership to mankind and headship to mankind.
14:52What Adam lost in headship, Jesus was now restoring in headship.
14:59And so that blood was coming out here.
15:02Then the soldiers beat him.
15:05They beat him 39 times with a whip that had nine tails.
15:10They call it a cat of nine tails, 39 lashes, a lash for each book from Genesis to Malachi.
15:22Nine books, 39 books of the Old Testament, lash 39 times.
15:26They could not beat him 40 times because the New Testament was not yet given.
15:31He was the New Testament.
15:34Then they placed the crown of thorns on his head to restore the kingship of humanity.
15:42He shed blood from his head, the kingship of humanity.
15:46That's Isaiah 55.
15:49Then they nailed him to a cross.
15:51Watch this.
15:52When they nailed him, there were seven portholes that they nailed him.
15:59One foot, second foot, hand, hand, that's four.
16:04And then they pierced him in his side, that's five.
16:08The back, six.
16:10The crown, seven.
16:13The seven were for each day of the week.
16:16The seven were for the dimensions of the heavens.
16:19But more so, the seven sisters and brothers, for every one of us, the seven lashes there
16:27were for the seven deadly categories of sin.
16:30Those seven portholes that were shed were for different entities in humanity.
16:37So for broken hearts, the feet, the right foot to step in the way of the Lord, the left
16:44foot to find the pathways in which he leads us.
16:50The left hand, the left hand is for marriage, to be married to the one that you love.
16:56The right hand is the hand to build and the hand to prosper.
17:01The side is to restore your broken heart and restore the emotions that you feel.
17:09The back is to restore every foundational structure that was lost in prosperity.
17:15There are 39 different major diseases in the world.
17:20He was beaten for every one of them.
17:21With these stripes, we were healed.
17:24And the blood out of his head from all those portholes is to restore every single piece
17:30of that blood.
17:32So when Jesus then said it is finished, and he bowed his head, the same time in the temple,
17:41the priest had just walked in to the holiest of holies in the temple and applied the blood
17:47of a physical lamb on that altar.
17:51And so when that blood was applied on that altar, Jesus blood was applied in the heavenly
17:56altar.
17:57That's why the veil ripped in twain from the top to the bottom to show that the work is
18:05finished.
18:06The Old Testament is done.
18:08The New Testament is now introduced.
18:10The old lamb is done away with the new lamb is here.
18:15The sprinkling of that Old Testament blood doesn't speak anymore.
18:19The blood of Jesus now speaks better things.
18:23And so when he rose from the dead, and Mary Magdalene wanted to touch him, he said, I
18:30have not ascended to my father yet.
18:33He had done his work there to defeat Satan to get his crown back.
18:37And so he said to Mary, go and tell my disciples I have risen.
18:42He then when he appeared to be disciples, from the time of Mary to appearing to disciples
18:47later on that evening, when they handled him, where did he go?
18:52He went into the heavenly tabernacle, and he took his own blood that he shared, he gathered
18:59it all up and took it as an offering, placed it into the heavens in the holy tabernacle
19:07on the mercy seat.
19:09That's why we can come boldly to throw the throne of grace to obtain mercy and find grace
19:15to help in time of need.
19:17Because when God looks to us as human beings, he looks through the mercy seat through the
19:23blood of Jesus.
19:24And all he sees are individuals that have been sprinkled with Passover blood, who have
19:32been sprinkled with atonement blood.
19:35The blood of Jesus has so much power that whatever you ask in the name of Jesus, by
19:41the blood of Jesus, it will be given to you.
19:44So what does the blood do then?
19:46Okay, the Bible says now in Hebrews chapter number 12 and verse 22, but you are not come
19:54to mount, you are now come to Mount Zion, the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem
20:03to an innumerable company of dressed up angels to the general assembly of the church of the
20:10firstborn, which are written in heaven.
20:14Oh, I love that.
20:16And to God, the judge of all and to the spirits of just men make perfect and to Jesus, the
20:25mediator of the new covenant and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than
20:33the blood of Abel.
20:35So there's eight things in what the apostle Paul said here in Hebrews chapter number 12.
20:41Number one, we are come to Mount Zion, not to Mount Sinai.
20:47Mount Sinai was the blood of human beings.
20:51Mount Zion was the blood of Jesus being spilled.
20:54We are come to the city of the living God, not to a corruptible wilderness, but to the
20:59city of the living God, to an innumerable company of angels.
21:04We have come into the heavenly domain of angelic beings who are dressed majestically
21:10to receive those that are blood washed.
21:13We are come to the general assembly of the firstborn.
21:16Remember the blood applied, everyone that has the blood applied.
21:20You are like the firstborn.
21:21You're like the firstborn.
21:23The way God made the first Adam in his first estate, not full in his state.
21:27You are in the state of Jesus.
21:28God's only begotten son.
21:30You are the firstborn.
21:32Even if you are the 10th in your family, numerically, if all your family gets saved, all of them,
21:39all 10 are the firstborn because God only deals with the first.
21:44You are come to the God who is the judge of all.
21:47He's judged all, all through the blood of Jesus.
21:50Number six, to the spirits of just men.
21:53These are individuals who are righteous, who do not have and have not had direct access
21:59to the blood of Christ because the gospel has not been preached to them.
22:03But they are just men.
22:04They have their spirits in the presence of God who, when they acknowledge, when they
22:09see the blood of Jesus and acknowledge that that blood is the atoning factor, they will
22:13be received in the heavens.
22:15Number eight, to the mediator of the new covenant.
22:18Jesus is the mediator of the new covenant.
22:21He's standing there as a lawyer saying the Old Testament is done.
22:26Moses, you're a lawyer.
22:27The Old Testament is done.
22:29I am now the mediator, the lawyer in the New Testament.
22:33I am the advocate for the new ones that are coming.
22:37And finally, to the sprinkling of blood of the Lord Jesus Christ that speaks better things
22:43than the blood of Abel.
22:44So let's look at the blood of Abel.
22:47Three points in terms of contrast, Abel's blood was shed against his will.
22:53Jesus' blood was spilled freely and he willingly gave his blood.
23:00Abel's blood was sprinkled on the earth.
23:04Jesus' blood was sprinkled in the heavens in the holiest of all.
23:10Abel's blood calls out for vengeance.
23:16Jesus' blood calls out for mercy.
23:21Abel's blood speaks for unrighteous deeds against him.
23:29Jesus' blood speaks for righteousness that he extends to the human family,
23:38regardless of the fact that unrighteous deeds were done to him.
23:42Abel's blood is pleading for his life in earth.
23:48Jesus' blood is pleading for our life in heaven.
23:54Abel's blood speaks more excellent things as a temporal earthly sacrifice.
24:03Jesus' blood speaks of a perfect heavenly sacrifice.
24:09It is the responsibility of every individual to take that blood of Jesus
24:16and sprinkle it on everything that you have as a doorpost.
24:20It is important that you take your hyssop, your mouth,
24:24dip it into the basin.
24:26What's the basin?
24:27That's the blood of Jesus that's made available around the world through the word of God.
24:32Take your tongue, touch it in the basin of the blood of Jesus that's ever efficacious.
24:37Strike the lentil of your doorpost.
24:39The basin's available for a household.
24:43It's available for individuals in a household.
24:46It's available for individuals in a church.
24:49It's available for a whole church.
24:51We do it together.
24:52We do it individually.
24:54And we put the blood there and the Lord will pass over us when he sees the blood.
24:59It is this blood in the basin that the apostle Peter says in 1 Peter 1, verse 1 and 2.
25:08The apostle of Jesus Christ to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus,
25:14Galatia and Cappadocia, Asia and Bithynia.
25:18Now verse 2, elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father
25:23through sanctification of the spirit to the obedience and sprinkling of blood of Jesus Christ.
25:31Grace be to you and peace be multiplied.
25:35So we're saying here to the foreknowledge of God and through sanctification of the spirit
25:42and obedience to sprinkling.
25:44So obedience to sprinkling is you have to by obedience use your mouth,
25:52your hyssop and obediently apply the blood.
25:57It is of non effect if you don't apply it.
26:00It's like this piece of soap.
26:03I can take this piece of soap and put it in the shower
26:08and I can stay in the shower and the soap will be there.
26:13I'll get wet.
26:14The soap is there.
26:15The soap will be of non effect.
26:17It will only become effective when I apply it.
26:22So you have to apply the blood.
26:25It's available.
26:26You have to apply it by using your mouth.
26:30It's your testimony.
26:31Hebrews 9 verse 21.
26:33Moreover, he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle and all the vessels.
26:40All these things are purged by the blood.
26:44And so there's no remission without the application of blood.
26:47How do we apply it?
26:49With our tongue.
26:50Hebrews 10 verse 18.
26:53Now where remission of these is,
26:56there is no longer required an offering for sin.
27:00So when you repent of your sin and you apply the blood every day,
27:04you keep on applying that blood.
27:06It is so important, sisters and brothers,
27:08that we understand the importance of this application.
27:12Psalm 107 and verse 2.
27:16Let the redeemed of the Lord say so.
27:20Those that have redeemed out of the hand of the enemy,
27:23let them say so.
27:25So you apply, apply, apply by saying so.
27:30You have to say it.
27:31Let just men, just women apply the blood that Jesus has shed for us.
27:38And so sprinkle the blood on everything.
27:40Sprinkle it 10 times a day if you need to.
27:43But don't let there be a day that goes by without sprinkling the blood.
27:48Father, we thank you for the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ
27:51that has been given to us
27:53and the anointing for us to apply the blood
27:56in everything and on everything we do.
27:58As we are born into a new nation,
28:01out of an earthly Egypt,
28:04into a spiritual world,
28:06born out of our mother's womb,
28:09born into the new family of God,
28:11through the blood of Jesus.
28:13Let the blood of Jesus stand firm.
28:16Let the blood of Jesus speak better things for us.
28:19Let the blood of Jesus overcome the enemy.
28:21We overcome the devil by the blood of the lamb
28:24and by the word of our testimony.
28:26We say it is so.
28:27It is so in the name of Jesus.
28:30Amen.
28:31Guys, thank you for being with us tonight.
28:33Don't forget your homework every day.
28:35Apply the blood.
28:37Get your children,
28:39get your families,
28:41teach your children how to apply the blood.
28:43It is needful, it is necessary
28:45because there is power in the blood.
28:48And we'll see you next week
28:50with the subject,
28:51This Power in the Blood.
28:52This Power in the Blood.
28:52This Power in the Blood.
