00:00Hello everyone. This is Paul Branson Reviews and so, so much more. Today, I went to see,
00:09or not today, I should say yesterday, I went to see the new Alien movie, Alien Romlan,
00:15if I'm saying that right. I have a pronunciation problem, so certain words I flat out get Rom-an-lian,
00:20Rob, Robin? No, it's not Robin, it's Rom-. Anyway, I saw the new Alien movie, and when
00:26I went in there, it was the afternoon, and there was quite a few people there for an
00:30afternoon show, and I was like, okay, this is good. I talked to a few people before the
00:34movie started, and they were telling me, because I didn't know this, that this was in between
00:39the first Alien movie from 1979, and they filled in the gaps before they found Sigourney
00:45Weaver in Aliens, so this is kind of like a gap in between those two films, and I was
00:52like, oh, I never looked that up before. I just go and enjoy the movies. Never did
00:56watch Prometheus, maybe I should have, because I heard that that was farther back, and they
01:02made another one too, Alien Covenant, and I've never seen that one either, but this
01:07one here, there was a lot of hype, and the reviews were really, really good for it. Like
01:13a 7.5 out of 10 on IMBD, and on Rotten Tomatoes, it was like an 82 or 83%, so I says, okay,
01:23I gotta see this movie. I like Alien movies, and I like what Disney did with Predator.
01:29They came out with another Predator movie called Prey, and that just went right to Disney
01:33Channel, and it was a great film, so I liked that, so I says, okay, so now they're doing
01:38the Aliens, so they were telling me this, and I didn't know, so finally I sat on my
01:46seat, because now they're design seats. You just can't sit anywhere you wanted. I would
01:49have sat with them. They said, sit with us, and unfortunately, no, I said, I better stick
01:54to my design seat, because sometimes, sometimes I've had ushers saying, are you in your design
02:00seat? I don't know why they say that, but I guess when it was packed and stuff like
02:06that, they don't want confusion, but so I sat there with my Coke and popcorn and Twizzlers,
02:14and I'm looking at the screen, and it comes on, and as it came on, lots of nostalgia,
02:20lots of nostalgia, a lot of Easter eggs, and a whole bunch of actors I've never seen before.
02:26Now, the main actress that was in it, she was good. She was very, very good, and I did
02:33recognize her in something else, and after the movie was over, I did recognize her. She
02:39was in the sequel to The Craft, The Craft Legacy, that was filmed in Toronto and came
02:44out in 2020, I believe, and she was the main actress in that film. So were others, but
02:50she really stood out in that movie, in The Craft Legacy. Wasn't as good as the first
02:55one, wasn't as good as they were building it up to be, but she was in that, and I read
03:00her up, and she was in a few other things that I just didn't see, but she's a wonderful
03:04young actress, and all the actors in here are really, really, really good, and I didn't
03:09recognize the other actors at all, but I'm like, mm-mm, okay. So as I'm watching the
03:14movie, now I'm gonna tell you just the summas of the movie. The cinematography, for one,
03:19was absolutely incredible. They brought a world to life. Now, this woman worked in the
03:26mills, or I guess you'd call it, yeah, the mills, or the mines, or whatever you'd want
03:31to call it. She worked there, and she thought she had enough credits to leave and go to
03:36another planet, and unfortunately she didn't, and she had a brother. Now, the brother, shortly
03:43in the film, you find out the brother is an android, an older model. I think the model,
03:49too, that they said kind of screwed up in the past. So it was an older model that she
03:55was taking care of, calling it her brother, because her family died, so it was just her.
04:01So they did, she didn't have enough credits to go, because they increased it. They increased,
04:06so I don't know what type of world it was, but it seems like, to me, if you needed to
04:10travel or do anything, you have to get credits. So you have to build, build, build, and it
04:16looks like you're gonna be trapped on this planet forever, mining. So now, she has these
04:23friends, or coincidence, didn't really say she knew them anyway, and they had a plan.
04:29They saw a ship that was floating in space, kind of like a space station, and they figured,
04:36okay, we can be kind of pirates, I guess. So they can get to the station, salvage what
04:42they can, sell it, and finally leave, finally leave, pay off their debts, and leave and
04:48be free. Now, she was hesitant to do it, but they didn't want her. They wanted the
04:54android, because he was an older model, he would be able to get into the system. And
05:00she says, well, I'm not going without him. Now, one of the fellas hated androids. Now,
05:06his acting was good, but sometimes I felt it was a little too over the top. Maybe that's
05:13how they wanted his character to be, because he hated, hated androids, and later in the
05:18film, it explained why. So, I'm not, I had to get up and actually use the washroom, so
05:25I'm not sure, did they steal a ship, or did someone have a ship, or were they allowed
05:30to actually go? So I guess they're allowed to go in space, but they could get caught,
05:34and if they get caught, well, they'll be on the mines the rest of their life. So they
05:39went there, and they tried, and they were looking around, and they discovered things
05:45they shouldn't have discovered. That's as far as I'm going to go, but the cinematography
05:50is incredible, and the person who directed it did an amazing job, and he also helped
05:56write it. I think there was three writers in total, if I'm correct on this, and he also
06:01wrote another really good movie, Do Not Breathe. So the director did Do Not Breathe. So if
06:09you haven't seen that horror thriller movie, Do Not Breathe, it is really good. He helped
06:13write that. He wrote that with someone else, and he also directed that. I believe he did
06:17part two of Do Not Breathe as well, and if I'm correct, he did the Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
06:23He directed that. He may not have written it, but he directed the 2023 one that went
06:29directly to Netflix. So he was a good director, and he knew what he was doing. He definitely
06:34knew what he was doing, but that one actor did annoy me a bit, but as soon as I understood
06:38why, eh. But I still want to see all these young actors in other movies. They were really,
06:45really good, and I really enjoyed this picture. I would give this picture a seven, yeah, honestly
06:52I'd give it a 7.5 out of 10. 7.5 out of 10 or 8, roughly around there. It was a good
06:58movie to see in the theaters. People enjoyed it. There's people that jumped. There were
07:03jump scares. There was a lot of, the scenes weren't too dark. You could see what was going
07:08on, and I always had issues with that. The music was spot on. Just a very entertaining
07:14picture. Aliens, got to see it in the theater, and wow. I would have preferred to see it
07:21in XDX, if I'm saying that right. I would have preferred to see it in there, but unfortunately,
07:28I just wasn't in Toronto at the time. But for now, everyone, and I still may see it
