French actor Alain Delon, who melted the hearts of millions of film fans whether playing a murderer, hoodlum or hitman in his postwar heyday, has died, reported the French media on Sunday (Aug 18). He was 88.

00:58Born in Seau, not far from Paris on November 8th in 1935, Delon was put in foster care
01:04at the age of four after his parents divorced.
01:07He ran away from home at least once and was expelled several times from boarding schools
01:12before joining the Marines at 17.
01:16After returning to France in the 50s, he worked in food markets and cafes before being
01:20scouted in the Cannes Film Festival.
01:23He made his film debut in 1957 in Send a Woman When the Devil Fails.
