00:00You received my instruction in your dressing room, respect my instruction all the time,
00:06protect yourself all the time, touch love, good luck guys.
00:10Evident size difference in favor of Asano, 2 inches in reach and 2 inches in height.
00:18He looks a little bit bigger.
00:20Looks more narrow.
00:21Box!
00:22Box!
00:23Box!
00:24Bernardo Osuna alongside Mark Kriegel coming to you from Quebec City.
00:30Are you going to match Mark Chinook's French pronunciation tonight, Mark?
00:35No, I'm not.
00:36Oh, come on.
00:37I believe you can do it.
00:38Camejo.
00:39I'll leave the linguistics to you and Chinook.
00:45I have enough trouble with English.
00:46I think you have a pretty good command of the language, but Camejo beats back against
00:52the ropes here against Asano and the fighter out of Belarus is taking advantage.
00:58Nice stab there, but he calls it low.
01:00Box!
01:01Nice, I don't know what low that was, but nice start by Asano.
01:06Kind of a tutorial how to be a pressure fighter and keep your distance with just a jab so
01:11far.
01:12All right, now Camejo using his legs a lot better than he was earlier on, but he gets
01:16caught up against the ropes trying to counterpunch him.
01:19Nice body work from Asano as he lands a left to the liver.
01:24Stop!
01:25Another?
01:26Asano only three knockouts as a pro, heralded amateur.
01:33And it looks like Camejo has been selected to fix that.
01:37Well, he's got one knockout in his first seven pro fights and actually Asano has one knockout
01:44in his last three fights, two knockouts in his first four professional fights.
01:52And Camejo is a fighter you mentioned, he's coming in here from Argentina, but he fought
01:58in Quebec on May 25th of this year against John Orobio, the highly touted Colombian prospect
02:03that's also part of this Eye of the Tiger promotions team.
02:07And he took him the distance, so he's a rugged fighter who's only been stopped twice in
02:14his pro career against Ayrton Jimenez, and that was actually due to his opponent's left
02:18cut, that was a disqualification, and then he did get stopped by a liver shot against
02:22Martin Rocha in December of 2021.
02:25Nice body work and then doubles up upstairs, does Camejo.
02:30Camejo got guts, but I would be surprised if this goes the distance, if this first round
02:37is any indication, because there is a substantial gap in talent.
02:43Work downstairs from Asano.
02:45Watch your head, watch your head, let's go.
02:47Stop!
02:48And Camejo doing his best Tim Bradley imitation.
02:53Nice uppercuts there from Asano.
03:00We're talking about his head now.
03:01Yes.
03:02Okay, thank you.
03:03Not the Hall of Fame pedigree, just the way he comes in with his head.
03:09He's going to be catching strays early on tonight, huh?
03:22Asano looks like someone got him upset today, man.
03:25He came to fight.
03:26All right, let's listen in to the corners.
03:29Samuel Decary.
03:30Deep breath.
03:31How do you feel?
03:32Amazing.
03:33Good, huh?
03:34You look very good.
03:35Just be careful not to be too loose and keep your hands down, okay?
03:47I want you to stay focused with that defense, all right?
03:50Your jab is working good.
03:51Keep working that body.
03:53I want you to keep working the body.
03:55Second up, we will start putting big punches.
03:57Now, this job, this guy does a lazy job.
04:01You job and then it goes down.
04:03Be ready for counter that job.
04:06You see it?
04:07Can you see it?
04:10You see that?
04:11That job goes down blue.
04:13When you see it, pop back.
04:18Good job.
04:21And counter that job.
04:22Come on baby.
04:24Good job.
04:26Great instructions, not only in how he was setting up
04:31what he wanted to do, but the way he just summarized it
04:33for Mark, three things I want you to do.
04:36Jab, and then the body work, and then counter his jab.
04:40Let's see if Asano does this in round two.
04:42It seems like Asano is pretty faithful to that advice
04:44before he said it.
04:45What he said, the heavy stuff is gonna come later.
04:49I thought he was smacking Kameo around pretty good
04:52in the first round too.
04:54See quick hands from Asano, now switching southpaw.
04:58Here's what I like about Asano.
05:00He may not be the most heavy-handed guy,
05:03but look what a good job he does of maintaining
05:06his distance and keeping his punches
05:08where they're going to be at their most powerful.
05:11And he has that nice little step back too.
05:14There you go, you see it.
05:15Yeah, he's just stalking Kameo here,
05:18putting him up against the ropes.
05:19Good high guard there from the Argentine.
05:22He's stalking him, but you never see him in a position
05:25where he's gonna be smothering his punches.
05:27Everything is thrown from the,
05:28pretty much everything is thrown from the proper distance.
05:30Yeah, and what you wanna see from a fighter is there.
05:32You want the punch to land at the end
05:34of the extension of the arm, not halfway through,
05:37and that way you can generate power,
05:38but Kameo lands a nice uppercut counter.
05:41Most of that stuff is being caught on the elbows.
05:43Nice body work again from Asano.
05:48Must've read the fighter notes
05:50or watched Kameo getting stopped
05:52by Martin Rocha in 2021 by a liver shot.
05:58There's that stab jab downstairs from Asano.
06:04High guard, goes right up the middle.
06:06Finally twice with uppercuts.
06:07Looks like Asano has a little mouse under his left eye.
06:12Seeing it correctly.
06:17I must've missed that shot.
06:20I mean, Kameo got guts,
06:26but he doesn't have length in this type of ability.
06:28Yeah, now there's actually, is it blood now on the,
06:31you mentioned it was a mouse, did it open up
06:34right under the left eye of Asano?
06:42Asano was trying to counter that jab from Kameo.
06:44Nice straight right.
06:49You know, I mean, Asano's from Belarus,
06:55Mbili from Cameroon.
07:00I don't know if it's either the Tiger
07:01or the Canadians or Mark Ramsey,
07:03but boy, they get a lot of prospects,
07:06a lot of like top amateurs from around the world.
07:09I think part of it is a scouting
07:11that Mark Ramsey does at amateur tournaments.
07:13You know, you mentioned Mbili and you know,
07:18he said when he first saw him in an amateur tournament,
07:21he says, this kid is the next Azuma Nelson.
07:24And you'll see Christian Mbili in tonight's main event
07:27against Sergei Derevyanchenko.
07:29And that's going to be a heck of a matchup
07:31because he'll have to answer a lot of questions.
07:34Last time we saw Christian Mbili,
07:36who's now ranked number one by the WBC,
07:39it was against Mark Heffron here in Quebec on May 25th.
07:43Don't blink.
07:44You don't, because you'll miss it.
07:45And look for the way he works to the body
07:48against this veteran fighter.
07:50Sends him down and overhand looping left.
07:54And that's the shot that ends the fight
07:56in the opening stanza.
07:58And Christian Mbili then earned his 23rd knockout
08:00and 27 wins.
08:02By the way, that was about the entire fight.
08:04Yeah, it was.
08:05It was one round.
08:06And this is what he's looked like over his last five fights.
08:09A three fight knockout string.
08:11And then that fight against Carlos Gongora,
08:14which probably has been his toughest fight to date
08:18because Gongora, who was the same man
08:20who dropped Edgar Berlang,
08:21who was getting a title shot at Canelo Alvarez,
08:24well, he took him the distance.
08:28Really interesting conversation with Mbili.
08:32We'll see later.
08:33And what did you learn from that?
08:35Or what do you remember about it?
08:37He goes, I'm telling myself you can't break me.
08:40I won't go down.
08:41He got, he's really on, you know,
08:44kind of out on his feet.
08:46Or arguably out on his feet for a while.
08:48Looked like he was really out of it.
08:49Two sequences with uppercuts.
08:52But he tells himself, I'm not going down.
08:54I'm solid.
08:55I go, what do you mean by solid?
08:56He goes, solid doesn't break.
08:59He was hurt in round two and round eight of that fight.
09:02And they call him Solide.
09:04His amateur teammates from the French national team
09:09we represented in the Olympics.
09:11Just loved the way he fought.
09:13He was solid all the way around it.
09:15He's on the footsteps of fighting for a world title.
09:19I want to go back to something.
09:20You brought up Mark Ramsey in the last round
09:22and his ability to attract top amateurs
09:26from around the world and get them to live
09:30in balmy Montreal in the winter months.
09:34You know, Better Biev, Jean Pascal, Mbili,
09:39everyone else focuses on, I want the medal winners.
09:44I want the medal winners.
09:46What Mark looks at, because he knew when he started this
09:49he had a limited budget.
09:50Right.
09:51I want the guys who don't win the medals
09:54but I think that their talents will translate
09:56better as pros than as amateurs.
09:58And typically, instead of the kind of stand up
10:01European guys that we've been criticizing for years,
10:03you're talking about guys who have extraordinary
10:05natural power, like Better Biev, like Mbili.
10:09And guys whose boxing ability gets overlooked
10:13because they have that fight changing power.
10:16And he says, you'll see that tonight from Mbili
10:18because I think he's going to have to dig into his bag
10:20of tricks against a veteran fighter
10:22like Sergei Derabinchenko.
10:24And so, you know, Better Biev, he says,
10:26gets overlooked for everything he does.
10:29These are guys with, you know, hundreds of amateur bouts.
10:31So they don't get to that level, Mark,
10:33without having talents beyond punching power.
10:39Nice right uppercut there from Camejo
10:41as Asano was closing in, trying to land a overhand right.
10:46I got to give Camejo some real credit here
10:49for standing in.
10:51For that body work?
10:53Standing in the way that he has.
10:57He's shaking it off, you ain't hurting me.
10:59I promise you those shots are hurting.
11:02That's probably the worst thing a fighter can do
11:04in terms of telegraphing just how effective
11:06his opponent is here in the third round.
11:10I mean, he really is the smaller fighter here,
11:12but I think that he's got one best shot here, Bernardo.
11:18He's got to get to that eye and close that eye up,
11:20close that right eye up.
11:22I mean, then at least he has an equalizer.
11:26I think that's easier said than done
11:28because Asano has his hands tied up on defensive duties
11:33because he just keeps coming.
11:37For a guy who's not necessarily known as a knockout artist,
11:44Asano is really proceeding with this fight
11:47as if he has dynamite because he's pure pressure.
11:50Okay, you see?
11:51Now you start to hurt him, okay?
11:53Now when you hurt him, you can start coming up to the head.
11:58You got this?
12:06We were talking about how effective the body work
12:09from the Mitri Asano has been in this fight,
12:13and it started early on with a stab jab
12:15that I don't know what referee Martin Forres
12:18was admonishing him for,
12:20but it's just a dedicated body attack.
12:24You know, most of the time you look at that stab jab,
12:26you go, ah, they're just kind of like creating separation.
12:30Those were what they were intended to.
12:33Those were stabbing jabs.
12:34Those are hard shots.
12:36They really stuck them hard to the body.
12:38It's just like any other jab, right?
12:39Some of them are measuring jabs.
12:41Some of them are punishing jabs,
12:42like De La Hoya, Porte.
12:44They had like these-
12:45But that's a punishing jab to the body
12:47that you don't always see.
12:49Camejo tries to start this round with the same type of jab,
12:52and Asano does well to block it partially.
12:55You heard Samuel Decarre in between rounds.
12:58He goes, okay, I told you about the body work.
13:00Now you can start going upstairs.
13:02So that's what's to watch.
13:03That's what you can watch for now.
13:05The head hunting will begin.
13:08And I think that's a great strategy
13:10is he's got Camejo thinking, I've got to protect my body.
13:13I've got to keep my elbows tucked,
13:14and that creates opportunities to the head,
13:17although that high guard is still there,
13:19creating openings for the body of the Argentine.
13:23There's a nice left uppercut,
13:25partially blocked by Camejo.
13:27Not a bad fighter.
13:31No, not a bad fighter.
13:32I think he's just giving away,
13:35it feels like he's giving away too much in size and length.
13:39An athletic ability that you can see Asano
13:41showing off right here.
13:43Look what I got that you don't have.
13:45Just the incentive.
13:47He's letting Asano lead in this fight,
13:49and you cannot beat Asano if he is in total control.
13:54He's been given no choice.
13:56Asano's not giving him much choice.
13:58I'm leading this dance, you're following, and you're taking.
14:04Camejo, they call him El Guerrero,
14:06and he's got his own gym out there in Argentina
14:09where he trains other fighters and people for fitness.
14:14Guerrero Boxing Gym trained eight weeks for this,
14:16so he's in good shape.
14:18But Asano's really putting him to the test here.
14:23Asano's a good athlete.
14:24You can see the ability,
14:27but also the sense of rhythm in his attack.
14:32I don't know what he listens to,
14:34but you can hear, you can see,
14:36you can see there's music in his head the way he's moving.
14:43There's a right hand for Asano right now.
14:46Over the top.
14:47Asano just can't get discouraged from the fact
14:50that Camejo's standing up to everything he throws.
14:53Not behind the head, they can watch it.
14:56Discouraged, I'd be happy.
15:01I mean, the guy's not a knockout artist,
15:03he's not gonna magically transform,
15:06but I do think this is a dangerous kind of fight
15:08for a fighter like Camejo.
15:12He's got a lot of experience,
15:14but for a fighter like Camejo,
15:17in a certain sense, it's almost easier to go down
15:20and go out than to take this kind of punishment
15:22round after round after round.
15:25Yeah, he did that exact thing against John Orobio,
15:28who was 8-0 coming into this fight,
15:30the fighter out of Colombia,
15:32who the Tiger's very high on,
15:35and yet he was able to withstand the punishment.
15:37By the way, watch Asano's feet,
15:39because they're really good.
15:41The feet are the best part of his game.
15:44Fighting with his hands now.
15:45Now trying to go Camejo into throwing some shots.
15:48Let's listen in to Lucas Emilio Castillo in the corner.
15:54Everything's good.
15:55Take a deep breath.
16:03Calm down.
16:08If you just stand there,
16:11he's gonna land shots.
16:12I need you to move laterally.
16:13Get out of the way.
16:17The hands, just gotta let them go.
16:26Give me some water, please.
16:27My legs are not feeling so well.
16:30I'm not even breathing hard, though.
16:34I'm gonna drown him in the last few rounds.
16:38You're making a good fight.
16:41Come on.
16:42Just loosen your arms.
16:44Don't get too stiff.
16:46Walk the ring, though, and I've got to mention
16:48that he's being trained in this fight by Lucas Castillo,
16:55but his regular trainer didn't make the trip from Argentina,
16:58as is the case with every one
17:00of the Argentine fighters tonight.
17:03Nice stab jab.
17:04Again, Asano working to the head.
17:07Trying to set up that overhand, right?
17:09I'll tell you, the greatest thing I heard so far
17:12was Kameo telling his trainer,
17:14hey, don't worry, I'm gonna drown him in the later rounds.
17:18That's the power of positive thinking.
17:21The problem is, as far as drowning is concerned,
17:25whatever you want to say about Asano's power,
17:28Kameo has one knockout on his record.
17:31So, you know, that ain't his game.
17:34He said he's gonna drown him, not knock him out.
17:37I don't see that much water here, you know?
17:40It's that old veteran.
17:41Let me take him into deep waters.
17:42He's only in his eighth professional fight.
17:45He's the fighter out of Belarus.
17:49This is not where Kameo's corner wants him to be.
17:53Back against the ropes, allowing Asano to tee off.
17:59Those quick flurries of punches.
18:00Do you hear those shots?
18:01Yeah.
18:02They're slapping, but they're landing.
18:05Look, even the one he's catching,
18:08they're coming in with bad intentions.
18:11And there's a lot of them.
18:16That hit flush, that hook.
18:19Yeah, great audio coming in from our audio team,
18:22so big ups to them.
18:27Tim Bradley chiming in,
18:29saying that Kameo's in survival mode.
18:32I thought he was in drowning mode.
18:50Big miss there from Kameo.
18:52Good counter from Asano.
18:55It wasn't just a miss, it was the slip making him
18:58It wasn't just a miss, it was the slip making him pay.
19:02There's a counter right hand
19:04that Samuel DeCarrie has been asking for.
19:08He says when he throws that jab, counter it.
19:10Wow, what a liver shot.
19:11He keeps slipping, you know,
19:13he keeps slipping that lazy jab
19:15and coming back with something.
19:21I mean, I don't know how Kameo's
19:24able to withstand those body shots,
19:25because a lot of fighters can take the shot to the head,
19:28but when they get drilled to the body
19:31like Asano has been doing consistently,
19:33that's where you break a fighter down.
19:37Nice counter left there from Asano
19:39as Kameo thought about throwing the right,
19:41just kept it at home.
19:48Effective from both stances,
19:49and now he's just toying around
19:51with the Argentine here in Quebec City.
19:55Someone who doesn't mess around inside the ring
19:58is this young man, Abdullah Mason,
20:01undefeated in 14 professional fights,
20:03four consecutive knockouts,
20:05all of those in under four rounds.
20:08The latest against Luis Debron,
20:10that was a third round knockout
20:11at the Prudential Center on July 6th.
20:14Mark, and he just continues to look better,
20:17more comfortable, and every time out,
20:20he sends a message and ends up stealing the show.
20:24I sat down with him earlier in the week,
20:25and the thing that just blows me away
20:28is his sense of composure.
20:31You know, that does not go with being 20 years old.
20:34He doesn't feel any sort of obligation
20:35to be loud or announce himself.
20:38He has complete confidence that the results in the ring
20:42are gonna translate, that's gonna be his calling card.
20:44I was just, there's a demeanor,
20:48there's a demeanor to him you don't see in 20-year-olds.
20:51It's rare in boxing, what I don't sense from him,
20:56nervous energy.
20:57It's really, he is wise beyond his years.
21:01Oh, and his opponent tonight, 30 years old,
21:04he's 19 and two, I said, what's gonna happen?
21:06He goes, I think I'm gonna knock him out.
21:08I mean, that's what he steps into the ring thinking
21:10every single time, and that is so rare.
21:13And he's just a great finisher.
21:15He's poised, under pressure,
21:17and he doesn't feel the pressure.
21:20We asked him, Tim Bradley asked him, what's your identity?
21:23And he said, they're not like us.
21:26I'm gonna tell you what his identity is,
21:28what he thinks his identity is.
21:32I'm the best young fighter in boxing.
21:34Really?
21:35No, he knows that.
21:37I mean, everybody's telling him anyway,
21:39starting from Tim Bradley, having him number one
21:41on the double stamp list, I mean, it's reinforced.
21:45All due respect to our man here,
21:48I don't think this is something he needed to be told.
21:50I think that it's internal.
21:52He believes it first.
21:54He said, I'm self-competitive.
21:57He's like, I'm always competing against myself
21:59to be better every time, and you can't teach that.
22:02This blew me away.
22:04So what are you thinking during the fight?
22:06Because I'm thinking when I get back to my room,
22:08how it's gonna look on tape, how nice it's gonna be.
22:12Well, he fights that way.
22:14He fights with that kind of precision
22:17and that kind of, he's looking for something perfect.
22:19He can't be perfect,
22:20but he's pretty damn close at this point.
22:22And you know what?
22:23He's got great eyes, he's got great feet,
22:26great hands, and he's mean.
22:29Yeah, you know, he doesn't talk big and bad.
22:32He's not loud, but you saw his knockout last time.
22:37There was a little sneer at the end of it.
22:40Now we have blood emanating from the nose of Camejo
22:43here in round six of a scheduled eight rounder.
22:47Starting to look the worst for wear
22:49and Acino walking him down.
22:51He wants out.
22:52I mean, he's just like, what do I gotta do to get out of here?
22:57Just to get out of the line of fire for me.
22:58Nice uppercuts there from Camejo.
23:01A lot of those caught by the high guard of Camejo,
23:04but they still hit.
23:07Nice jab.
23:07That one was clean.
23:08I don't think we're gonna see a drowning here.
23:11He might be drowning in his own blood.
23:15Swallowing it right now is Camejo.
23:24Great job on the corner from Acino
23:26with that mouse under the left eye
23:29that they did not allow to become an issue in this fight.
23:38Flurries and combinations that Acino throws
23:41no two are alike.
23:42And I think the punch variety
23:43is probably one of his best assets.
23:48I think it's his athletic ability and everything,
23:51you know, especially for a guy he's not,
23:53again, he's not like a knockout artist,
23:55but everything he throws is thrown with evil intentions.
24:01And they're gonna work on that bloody nose
24:03and we'll listen in to Lucas Emiliano Castillo
24:06in the corner of Camejo.
24:09Take a seat.
24:12Take a deep breath.
24:16Don't blow your nose.
24:22Don't blow your nose.
24:27You know what that means.
24:31He's bigger than me, but I want the fans to be with me.
24:37You have to change the pace.
24:38You've got two rounds left.
24:41You've got to show your guts here to finish.
24:44Come on, kid.
24:45Give me some water.
24:50Please, remember, don't stand still.
24:55Your shots will start to land,
24:56but you can't stand in one place.
24:59What do you say about the fans?
25:01I want them on my side.
25:02What do you say about the fans?
25:04I want them on my side.
25:06I want the fans on my side.
25:07He wants to put on a show.
25:09God bless him.
25:13For now, he's not standing in a single spot
25:16and allowing Aceno to just tee off on him,
25:19but a lot of time left here in the seventh round
25:22for Alexis Camejo.
25:24Nice overhand right by Camejo,
25:25but there's always something coming back from Aceno.
25:32Aceno just has a great sense of rhythm,
25:35great athletic ability.
25:39And he doesn't smother anything.
25:41Everything's smothered from the proper distance.
25:46And what he gives up,
25:47he gives up on his opponent.
25:48He gives up on his opponent.
25:50He gives up on his opponent.
25:51He gives up on his opponent.
25:53And when he gives up in power,
25:54he makes up for it in precision and volume.
25:58And a lot of that starts with the defense.
26:01In this particular fight,
26:02it's slipping that jab
26:04and always, always, always coming back with something.
26:09And does a little chicken wing move,
26:10trying to get Camejo to bite.
26:14Look it, it's just pity pat
26:16like you would be doing to the heavy bag.
26:23Listen, listen, listen.
26:26Hands behind his back and he pops a jab.
26:33And he's just having a good time at this point.
26:37Demetri Aceno with the overhand right.
26:41Every time he throws that jab,
26:43that right hand's coming back.
26:44He's slipping it, look it, boom.
26:48Now he's just toying with Camejo.
26:53Ooh, that's a nice straight right from Aceno.
26:57He's been toying, I mean, this whole round.
27:06Putting on a show now, Aceno,
27:08and the referee don't think he likes Camejo turning his back.
27:12Oh, now he just like touches the bottom of his shoe.
27:16Looking like Ben Whittaker.
27:18What Camejo just did was a sign of surrender
27:20in turning his back.
27:23That is.
27:23And the ref, Martin Foster, had to tell him,
27:26like, hey, don't turn your back.
27:27Yeah, he just set the tone.
27:28You set the round before, he's looking for a way out.
27:34And it ain't on him, he's, look, he's overmatched.
27:36This is what it is.
27:44This is a fun performance from Demetri Aceno.
27:47He may not have devastating power,
27:50but he does have boxing skills in spades.
27:55I'd actually like to see him in, eventually,
27:58against someone with devastating power,
28:00to see how his defensive game holds up.
28:06I do think so much of what he does well, Aceno,
28:09begins with his feet, slipping punches, his defense.
28:13Okay, you want me to stop him?
28:14Yeah.
28:15If you stop him, it's easy.
28:16You put your punch together, yeah?
28:19Just put your punch together, go with speed.
28:20And then his angle, and you touch with power.
28:22Okay.
28:23Pa-pa-pa-pa-pa, speed, angle, boom, big power.
28:25No problem, and it's not a damn slow one, okay?
28:27Let's go.
28:29Okay.
28:30Okay.
28:31Don't worry about it.
28:32You're doing super good, okay?
28:33You're doing super good.
28:34So you keep, keep using that jab.
28:35Now I want, also, he's moving like this.
28:38Put the jab there, and I want a loose right hand
28:40down the pipe there.
28:42Pa-pam, okay?
28:43Jab there, bing.
28:44Jab, body, boom.
28:45Boom.
28:46Okay.
28:47A lot, do this a lot, okay?
28:49First body, or first head, second body.
28:52Here, jab here, bing, angle, second attack.
28:55Okay?
28:56You got this, man, last round.
28:57Let's go.
28:58Show me.
28:59Last round, right, last round, right.
29:00Two rounds.
29:00Strong, okay?
29:01All right.
29:02All right.
29:03Go.
29:05Back, back.
29:06Eighth and final round.
29:07Back up, back up, back up.
29:09Dmitry Asano and Alexis Camejo.
29:11Asano was just clowning in that last round,
29:15the penultimate of this fight.
29:17You see what he's gonna do.
29:19Touches the side of his foot,
29:21and then tries to throw a punch.
29:22Doesn't land, but it's been that kind of round
29:25for Asano in the seventh, where he was just dominating.
29:29And I liked what Samuel Decaris said.
29:31Look, you wanna stop him, you do it with speed and power.
29:34You throw a lot of punches, throw that jab,
29:36and then make sure the overhand right comes over the top.
29:39Well, look, what they're playing for right now
29:41is very explicit.
29:43They want the knockout.
29:45You want the knockout, here's what you do.
29:48Put a jab on his body,
29:49and then come over the top with the right hand.
29:52I mean, personally, if he hasn't knocked him out
29:55at this point, I don't think it's going anywhere,
29:57and I gotta really hand it to Camejo.
30:00I mean, that's a lot of guts this kid has.
30:03Nice uppercut from Asano, and he has been courageous.
30:07I want the fans on my side.
30:09Yeah, I mean, the thing about it is-
30:10He should have them, but-
30:11The thing is that what Decaris also saw in Asano
30:15is make the referee do his job.
30:18If you just go out there with flurries
30:19and start tattooing Camejo, he's gonna have to stop it.
30:23Yeah, but he doesn't have that kind of power.
30:27He has the technique. It doesn't matter
30:27if you throw those many,
30:28if you just start overwhelming him and it looks bad,
30:31the referee can step in.
30:33But you're not gonna get it clowning.
30:35Oh, no. Right.
30:37Good point.
30:42You really do have to make the referee think,
30:46if I don't step in, something bad could happen.
30:48Correct.
30:50A nice body shot from Asano once again.
30:54I mean, I think that's what's impressed me most
30:55about the shots that Camejo has taken
30:57is the downstairs work that Asano has been so persistent
31:03and consistent with this fight.
31:05Could have broken down a lot of fighters.
31:07Camejo is a very honorable fighter.
31:10Just the thing that he said before,
31:11I want the fans to be on my side.
31:15It was extraordinary.
31:16And listen, no one would give a damn.
31:19No one would give a damn if he took the easy way out.
31:22There are ways for him to get out of here.
31:24And look, what about the cardio from both guys?
31:27I mean, Asano and being able to throw as many punches
31:30as he's thrown and Camejo,
31:32and not only just resisting the punches,
31:35he's not throwing a lot now,
31:36but probably up until the sixth round,
31:37he was there throwing punches with Asano.
31:40So gotta give them both a lot of credit.
31:44He got 20 something seconds to take something
31:48with him, Camejo, which is, at least that went the distance.
31:51Oh, nice overhand right once again from Asano.
31:55And look, Asano's not gonna be the type of guy
31:58who's gonna knock people out with one punch,
32:00but you've got to be able to throw
32:02with one punch, but you've got to respect his skills.
32:06I'd really like to see him against the big puncher.
32:08And what happens when he gets a big hitter to miss,
32:12it starts tagging him, making him question himself.
32:16That would be eventually a very interesting fight
32:18for Asano.
32:21Looked like a shutout win for Dmitry Asano
32:24here in Quebec, Canada.
32:27And let's take a look, Mark,
32:29at some of the best action from Asano.
32:32There's your stab jab.
32:34And again, that was throwing bad intentions.
32:35There you wind up body shots.
32:39A head snapper.
32:40Good with either hand.
32:41I mean, busting right through that guard, splitting it,
32:45coming with uppercuts, coming from both sides, both hands.
32:52There, Camejo, where he was, again,
32:54most of the fight, up against the ropes.
33:00Good cut men.
33:02What should we call them?
33:03Good cut men?
33:03Good swell men?
33:04They kept that down.
33:05They kept the information down.
33:06Vincent Ollier was the man who made sure
33:10that the mouse under the left eye
33:11that happened early on in the fight,
33:13and then the mouse under the right eye
33:15never became a factor here for Dmitry Asano,
33:19the Tokyo Olympian out of Belarus.
33:23And the team is happy with his performance tonight.
33:27And I'm happy just to qualify with you.
33:30My pleasure.
33:31Lift the Hall of Fame and take over now.
33:33He'll be in here the rest of the night.
33:35And let's go to Mark Chinook for the decision.
33:48After eight rounds here at the Videotron Center,
33:51we're going to the scoring cards for the judge's decision.
33:54After eight rounds here inside the Videotron Center,
33:58we go to the judges' score cards for the official decision.
34:02Richard Blouin, Nicolas Esnault, and Marie-José Guerin
34:06all scored about 80 to 72 for your winner
34:09by unanimous decision, Dmitry, The Wasp, Asano!
34:17Never in doubt in terms of who was gonna come away
34:19with the victory, and it was, as we expected,
34:23an 80 to 72 shutout in favor of the Belarusian Olympian.
34:29All right.
