00:11kidnapped at Otupu community on Thursday evening, King Tui Andona tweeted on Friday from captivity
00:17that the kidnappers threatened to start killing them next day if their demands are not met.
00:22King Tui Andona in a recent tweet said that the kidnappers demanded the sum of 50 million
00:28for them, the 20 doctors to be released. It was gathered that the students were traveling to the
00:33Federation of Catholic Medical and Dental Students, FECAMDS annual convention in Enugu
00:39when they were ambushed around 5.30 p.m. in the Otupu area, according to Vanguard's report.
00:45One of the victims, King Tui Andona, in a two-separate tweet, he tagged the Nigerian
00:50Doctors Association verified ex-social media page on Friday, said thus,
00:54we were kidnapped on our way to Enugu for a convention. At Nigerian underscore doctor,
01:00they are requesting for 50 million for 20 of us medical students. Please help us and we haven't

01:13they would start killing us tomorrow. The victims are said to be from the University of Maiduguri
01:19and the University of Jaws. The IGP in a new statement made available by the first spokesperson
01:25Olumuwa Adejobi few minutes ago said as stated below except, the Inspector General of Police,
01:32IGP Kayode Adeolu Ebetoko, has condemned the kidnapping of 20 medical students who were
01:38abducted in Otupu, Genoa State, while en route to the annual convention of the Federation of
01:43Catholic Medical and Dental Students in Enugu. This reprehensible act is truly appalling,
01:49callous, and unacceptable. In a display of unwavering commitment to the rescue,
01:54safety, and well-being of the young Nigerians, the IGP has ordered the prompt deployment of a
01:59substantial number of human and technical resources to augment the manpower of the
02:04Benue State Command and ensure swift rescue of our beloved students. This initiative encompasses
02:10the mobilization of additional tactical units from the FEED-STS and FEED-IRT, the deployment
02:16of advanced helicopters and drones, as well as the use of specialized tactical vehicles to facilitate
02:22the search and secure the self-return of the victims. The Nigeria Police Force stands with
02:27the victims and their loved ones during this challenging time and we are committed to ensuring
02:32the self-return of the students. The Inspector General of Police reiterates the zeal of the
02:37force to leave no stone unturned in the pursuit of the perpetrators and others alike, as the
02:42Nigeria Police Force is determined to sustain the fight against crimes and criminality,
02:46most especially kidnapping of Nigerians. The IGP equally appeals to the general public to provide
02:53useful information and actionable intelligence that may aid the ongoing investigation and the
02:58rescue operation. Individuals with relevant details are encouraged to contact the nearest
03:04police station or the state's command control number or the force headquarters via Press

05:07that typically avoids confrontations still rises up, what is the excuse of a more resilient culture
