00:00Perikatan Nasional has conceded defeat in the fight for the Nanggiri state seat in Kelantan,

00:08an UMNO stronghold, until last year, when it was won by a PN candidate from PAS.

00:13PN's operations director for the Nanggiri by-election, Anwar Musa, said unofficial results

00:19had shown that the Barisan Nasional candidate, Azmawi Fikri Abdul Ghani, won the seat with

00:24a comfortable majority today.

00:27In a Facebook post, he congratulated the winners and wished them well in fulfilling the responsibilities

00:32that have been entrusted to them.

00:35He added that the people of Nanggiri have made their choice, which must be respected,

00:39and said may the people of Nanggiri receive the proper representation they deserve.

00:45Unofficial results from PN showed that the coalition has regained the state seat with

00:49a 3,372-vote majority.

00:52As of 8.13 p.m., PN's Azmawi polled 9,113 votes to the 5,741 votes secured by PN's

01:01Rizwadi Ismail.

01:03The by-election was called when the seat was declared vacant in June after then-Assemblyman

01:07Azizi Abunayem ceased to be a Bersatu member.
