00:00The State Bank of India, or SBI, is the largest bank in the country, while the Punjab National Bank is the second-largest government bank in the country.
00:10From the central government, most state governments are dependent on these banks to manage the money of their departments and even to pay salaries to employees.
00:19Recently, the state government issued a major order in Karnataka that it and its various departments should stop all their accounts, transactions, and instant payments in these two banks.
00:29If any deposits are left in these accounts, they should also be recovered.
00:33And after this decision, the discussion is going on to find out the reason for this.
00:37So what is this whole matter? Let's try to find out in this video.
00:40So now the reason for the state government's decision has also come to light.
00:44The Siddharamaya government of Karnataka says that the SBI and PNB did not manage the money of the government departments properly, nor did they manage them.
00:53This has also harmed the government.
00:55Now just think, if you get an FD of 25 crores in a bank and instead of getting interest on it, you get the opposite principal amount of 13 crores, then what will you do?
01:07And the same is also said by the Karnataka government.
01:09The reason for this decision by the Karnataka government can be seen in some of its claims.
01:14According to a report, the state government claims that the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board got an FD of 10 crores in the SBI in 2013.
01:23This amount was used to settle a private company's loan on the basis of fake documents.
01:29And in the same way, the Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board got an FD of 25 crores in the PNB in 2011.
01:37Only 13 crores came back from this.
01:39There is no account of the remaining money.
01:42According to the Karnataka government, such cases of crores of rupees are stuck in the court.
01:47The banks have not returned any money.
01:49Therefore, the government's financial department has instructed all the ministries, departments, PSU, universities, boards, and Aayog, etc. to close their transactions with these two banks by September 20.
02:03In this regard, there was no conversation with the banks.
02:07Now in this matter, SBI and PNB have also kept their word.
02:11The banks say that they are trying to find a solution by talking to the government.
02:16However, many other matters related to this are still pending in the court.
02:20No decision has been made on them.
02:23So whatever decision the Karnataka government has taken, it has been taken after a series of negotiations in the banks.
