00:00It seems that the family of PMA Cadet 4th Class Darwin Dormitorio has fallen silent
00:05after the three accused of hazing and murdering him were sentenced to life imprisonment.
00:10The judges now appeal the decision.
00:13Witness, Jaswin Gabriel Galvan of GMA Regional TV.
00:23The message of Cadet 4th Class Darwin Dormitorio to his loved ones
00:28was found in the room of his upperclassman, Cadet 3rd Class Shalimar Imperial and Felix Lumbag Jr.
00:35a few days before Darwin's death.
00:38His voice is still resonating and even though it is hard to speak, he is still singing.
00:43You are the only one in my mind, love.
00:51My voice is different now. Don't be shocked.
00:56I can't sleep because I have a defect in my liver.
01:03On September 17, in the same room,
01:06Dormitorio was found to be weak while exercising.
01:11He was also having a hard time wearing his socks.
01:15The next day, Dormitorio was brought to PMA Hospital.
01:19He was wearing a medical certificate that was full of bruises on his chest, stomach, sides, and back.
01:26He underwent CPR but he was brought back to life.
01:29Darwin had been dreaming of becoming a soldier for six months at PMA.
01:34He detailed his experiences in a journal with the items he returned to his family.
01:40At one point, he wrote that sometimes it's like they're afraid to move when their bodies are there.
01:47Maybe just a little movement can cause them pain.
01:50He also mentioned the beating on the face of an Imperial cadet.
01:54In the August 6 entry, it was stated that he was thinking of resigning.
01:59There is also a drawing that Darwin's family thinks is a depiction of the hardship he endured inside the academy.
02:06According to witnesses, his upperclassmen hurt Dormitorio
02:11because they didn't follow what he was doing.
02:14Dormitorio!

02:22Five years later, Darwin was found guilty.

02:58while Tadena was fined P2 million pesos.
03:01When Hatol was released, the Dormitorio family was shocked.
03:05I am happy. I am contented with the decision.
03:10But of course, my son's life is not yet returned.
03:15I was also caught in the sentencing of my parents.
03:25We all became victims.
03:27I am also thankful for our justice system.
03:32We deserve it. My son deserves it.
