00:00Hello friends, welcome to Khemper Repair Youtube Channel.
00:04Friends, today I have DTH SMPS.
00:08Friends, I would like to clear you at the beginning of the video that this SMPS is of DD Free Dish.
00:16What are the problems in this SMPS?
00:21If there is a fault in the SMPS, then where do you have to check?
00:26Because you are seeing a lot of components in this SMPS.
00:31And all this is for different types of work.
00:34So it is not that every time this is bad, this is bad, this is bad, this is bad.
00:38That is, after everything is bad, the fault in the SMPS comes of a different type.
00:44So today I will tell you about 7 main faults that come in your SMPS.
00:51And because of which you feel that the card of your setup box is broken.
00:59But no, the card is not broken.
01:01Because of the SMPS, you will feel that the card is broken.
01:04So watch this video till the end.
01:08Now assume that you have this SMPS in your box.
01:13And if your setup box is completely closed.
01:18When you give it power and if there is no power in it, it is completely dead.
01:23So what do you have to check first?
01:26So see, first of all, you have to check the voltage of the main jack of the SMPS.
01:31Keep this in mind whenever you repair or check the SMPS.
01:35Always do it on the series.
01:37Do it on the series board.
01:39And do the other thing very carefully.
01:41If it helps you, then only check it.
01:43Because it is checked directly from the AC board.
01:48So check the supply on the main jack.
01:51If volts are coming here, then it shows that the main lead and the switch are working properly.
01:57If volts are not coming here, then you can check the main lead.
02:01After this, supply comes from one leg to the fuse.
02:05One leg comes directly and the other comes on the fuse.
02:08So if volts are coming here, then you have to check the fuse once.
02:12The fuse opens from this side.
02:14It means it is easy to open.
02:16It opens from this side.
02:18You can check the fuse.
02:20If your fuse is correct, then you can see that its supply will go to the line filter.
02:25This thing is called a line filter.
02:28If there is any problem in your SMPS, the fuse will fly.
02:32If the fuse does not fly, then the line filter is damaged.
02:35You can change it or short it.
02:38You can take supply in both ways.
02:40If you short it, then you will see the lining on your screen.
02:43So try to change it if it burns.
02:47After line filter, supply comes to the bridge.
02:51In this bridge, the diodes get damaged sometimes.
02:55There is a very low chance that all your diodes get damaged.
02:58Mostly one or two diodes get damaged.
03:01After that, you have to check the supply on the capacitor.
03:04The supply from the capacitor comes to your IC.
03:08This is how SMPS works.
03:11In dead condition, you have to check one by one like this.
03:15In the end, you have to check the capacitor.
03:17If there is a voltage of around 350 V, it means that this section is the primary section.
03:27It means that your primary section is working properly.
03:32If your card is not working, then there is a problem in this section.
03:37This is your secondary section.
03:40This is how you have to check the SMPS.
03:43If your SMPS is dead, then you have to check it one by one.
03:46It is not that if the SMPS is not working, then you have to remove the IC directly.
03:50You don't have to do this.
03:51Now let's move to the second fault.
03:54Sometimes in DTH, when we apply DTH in power,
03:58DTH shortens the light.
04:01For example, if we apply it on series, then the series bulb glows.
04:05It glows very fast.
04:07This condition always occurs due to the four diodes in the bridge.
04:11If any one of these diodes shortens,
04:14then many times it happens that your diode shortens.
04:19In this condition, you have to check these four diodes on continuity without removing them.
04:24You will know from that.
04:26Whatever diode is bad, you have to change it.
04:31You can easily change it.
04:33The number of this diode is IN4007.
04:36You can check it in your SMPS.
04:38Now let's move to our third point.
04:41If the AC section in your SMPS is working properly
04:46and when you check the voltage,
04:48then you are getting volts on the capacitor here as well.
04:51And you are getting volts on the pins of the IC as well.
04:55When you look at it from the meter,
04:57if you feel that your IC is working properly,
05:01but still you are getting 6 volts and 7 volts in the output.
05:05If you are getting such volts at 12 volts,
05:086 or 7 volts are getting on this pin of 12 volts.
05:18If you are getting 6 or 7 volts on this pin,
05:26not more than this,
05:28then you have to check these diodes.
05:31If one of these diodes is short,
05:34then you will get the same volts.
05:36And sometimes it happens that these diodes are not bad.
05:39If you still have this problem,
05:41then you can check this transistor or the resistance and this PF.
05:46The chances of PF are less.
05:47The chances of transistor are more.
05:49You can do this as well.
05:50But first you have to check the diode.
05:52Because first most of the chances will be of diode.
05:55Even after checking the diode,
05:57if you are still getting 6 or 7 volts,
06:00then you can check this section or this section.
06:03Because of this, there is a problem of 6 or 7 volts in the SMPS.
06:08Now let's talk about the fourth fault of the SMPS.
06:11This fault is such that you will feel that the SMPS is correct.
06:16Your DTH card is bad.
06:18But no, friends.
06:19This also happens because of the SMPS problem.
06:22The problem is that when you supply the SMPS to your DTH,
06:28your DTH runs sticky.
06:31That means whatever channel you put,
06:34you will get less signal on it.
06:36And if you put some other DTH on it,
06:38then the signal comes right on it.
06:40This problem is mostly due to 3.3 volts.
06:45The first wire here, this one.
06:49So this is the 3.3 volt jack.
06:52This one.
06:53If 3 volts come on this 3.3 volt,
06:57or even less than this,
06:59then it will not work properly on your card.
07:02Because of which your card will not work.
07:05The signal will stick.
07:06So this problem is not to be fixed.
07:083.3 volts are made in this SMPS from 5 volts.
07:12Where one diode is here,
07:14and the other diode is here.
07:16For example,
07:19I will show you.
07:21This is 5 volts.
07:22The first pin is of 5 volts.
07:26So for 5 volts, one diode is here.
07:28From 5 volts, one diode is here.
07:30Then one diode is here.
07:32And 3.3 volts are made here.
07:35So if your signal is sticking,
07:37and 3.3 volts is less than the voltage,
07:39as you have checked from the digital meter,
07:41then you either
07:43short this diode here or here.
07:50When you short it,
07:52instead of 3.3 volts,
07:54your volts will increase here.
07:56If your volts increase,
07:58if they are around 4 volts,
08:00even after that if the signal sticks,
08:03then you can assume that your card is bad.
08:05Otherwise, the volt is sticking because of your SMPS.
08:09If the signal is correct,
08:12then you can either short this diode
08:14or remove the diode and make a direct jumper.
08:17So in this way,
08:18you can also fix the problem of sticking signal
08:20with SMPS.
08:22Now let's talk about the 5th problem.
08:24In DTH, the 5th problem is that
08:26your DTH gets cut while running.
08:30Cut means that it will stop suddenly
08:32and then it will turn on again.
08:34Then it will run for a while,
08:35then it will stop and then it will turn on again.
08:37This problem can happen anytime.
08:40It may happen twice in a minute.
08:42It may not happen even once in 10 hours.
08:44It can happen anytime.
08:46If this kind of problem is coming in your DTH,
08:49then it can also happen because of SMPS.
08:51For this, you have to check this section,
08:54especially this transistor.
08:56What is the number of resistances of this transistor PF?
08:59How does it work?
09:00If you say, then I will tell you in detail.
09:04And friends, I will tell you one more thing
09:06The IC in this transistor is 2 pin short.
09:09How many volts will come on which pin of this?
09:11I am going to tell you right now in this video.
09:14So stay tuned.
09:16So what I mean to say is that
09:18what is the problem in this section
09:20and how does it work?
09:21I will make a separate video on this.
09:23Because a very big video can be made on this.
09:26So if there is a problem of cut in your setup box,
09:29then you can check this section.
09:32Now let's talk about the 6th problem.
09:35Friends, this problem also comes a lot in your DTH.
09:38In this, when you give power to DTH,
09:41then your DTH runs properly.
09:43And after running for 5 minutes, 2 minutes, 4 minutes,
09:46what happens?
09:47It starts sticking.
09:48After that, when you turn it off
09:50and turn it off and give power again,
09:52then your DTH starts running properly again.
09:54But again it runs for 2-4 minutes,
09:55and again it starts sticking.
09:56This problem of yours comes from the main capacitor.
10:00Here it is 47UF 450V capacitor.
10:05If this capacitor weakens,
10:07then you will see the problem of your signal sticking.
10:11In this condition, you will have to change this capacitor.
10:15Whenever you change such capacitors,
10:18do it very carefully.
10:20Because even after the power wire comes out,
10:23volts are stored.
10:25So you don't have to touch it.
10:26First you have to short it like this.
10:28Do not touch it like this.
10:32Now let's talk about problem number 7.
10:35Friends, many times it happens that
10:37there is no power in your DTH card.
10:41But when you check on the supply jack,
10:44you get all the volts here.
10:46But you do not get volts on the card.
10:48The card does not work.
10:50In this condition, you will have to check your jack once.
10:54Because sometimes these legs get damaged.
10:59So in this condition, you have to remove it from here.
11:02Instead of this, you can either put another strip
11:05of any other SMPS,
11:07or you can directly connect it to the card via wiring.
11:10If you connect, then do it very carefully
11:12so that the connection does not go here and there.
11:14If you are putting a jack, then there is no problem.
11:16Just put it as it is.
11:19So friends, these were the problems
11:21that come in your DTH SMPS, not in the card.
11:25And because of these, your DTH does not work.
11:28And it looks like the card is broken.
11:30Now let's talk about the 2-pin short IC.
11:33Friends, there is a 2-pin short IC in this.
11:36The pin here is a 2-pin short.
11:39The 8-pin IC is a 2-pin short.
11:41But in some SMPS, the 8-pin IC is a 4-pin short.
11:45So keep in mind that
11:47you cannot replace your 2-pin short with an 8-pin short.
11:50And you cannot replace the 8-pin short with a 2-pin short.
11:54If you do this, then your IC will get damaged.
11:57It will not be of any use.
11:59Neither will your SMPS work.
12:01How many volts will you get to see on this 2-pin short IC?
12:04Let me also tell you that
12:06when your PCB does not have an IC.
12:08And the PCB is in perfect working condition.
12:12So see, you will get 350 on this pin.
12:14350, 0V, 0V, 0V, 0V.
12:18And here you will get 0V to see.
12:21On this pin, you will get 100 to 120V to see.
12:25Which have come from this resistance.
12:27You will get to see volts like this.
12:30If such volts come, then you understand that your PCB is correct.
12:34You have to check this when your PCB does not have an IC.
12:38Now let's talk about how many volts you will get to see on working condition with an IC.
12:43So if you put an IC, you will get 350V, 350V, 0V, 0V, 0V, 0V.
12:53On this pin, you will get 1 to 7V.
12:56On this pin, you will get 1 to 7V.
12:58If this is from your IC.
13:00And here its primary section is working properly.
13:04So you will get to see these volts on the IC.
13:07If you get to see these volts.
13:10Then only you check the secondary section.
13:13If not, then you check your primary section properly and repair it.
13:19If you want more details than this, then tell me.
13:22On which topic should I bring the video of SMPS?
13:24I will bring the video in more deep detail.
13:27Let's meet in the next video.
13:29If you like this video, then like and share it once.
13:32And you tell us by commenting how you like this video.
13:36Let's meet in the next video.
13:37Till then, thanks for watching.
