00:00Hey guys this is Zoltan Batry from Five Finger Death Punch and we are in Birmingham.
00:30This is Birmingham, this is the cradle of heavy metal, so you know, this is kind of
00:44like a, you're going to know where you're at if they're throwing piss at you in a bottle,
00:50then you know that it's not happening.
00:52It was awesome and you know that was basically the idea, we wanted to do a surprise for you
00:58Rob Halford is from Birmingham, so we figured this is going to be a proper surprise, this is
01:02a lost show on this European tour and I think this is the best way to finish it, you know.
01:09Nobody knew, even our booking agent or management, nobody knew that we asked Rob if we would come
01:15down and again he's in Birmingham, this is his hometown, so nobody knew, it was a complete
01:21surprise. The song that we did together went number one, you know, in the States,
01:26so it's a crown jewel in the whole thing.
01:46We knew that Rob was a fan of the band because he did an interview on television
01:51and we heard him saying that one of his favorite bands from the new crop is
01:55Five Finger Death Punch, so as we were recording this last album, there was a tune where
02:02basically the song that he ended up singing on, but we were talking about it in the studio and
02:06said hey, this kind of has a little bit of that old school metal, you know, 80s vibe a little bit,
02:12you know, a little bit Ozzy, a little bit Judas Priest maybe and we just had this wild idea like
02:16hey, do you think, you know, if we would reach out, would he sing on this? And it's a long shot,
02:20like it's, you know, it's his metal god, you know, I'm pretty sure he's busy striking down
02:26the non-believers in somewhere, you know what I mean, throwing lightning and, you know, whatever
02:30metal gods do and our manager, you know, reached out and he actually listened to the song and he
02:36was like, oh my god, I love the song, I want to be involved and he flew into Las Vegas where we
02:40were recording, so actually he recorded this song right in front of us, so we were in the studio
02:45and he's singing in a booth, so I'm like, if I get striked down by lightning right now, I'm good,
02:49I did something good in life, you know, and it was pretty amazing, he was hanging out with us
02:56for a couple of days, you know, it was the tour stories and whatnot he has, I mean,
03:01imagine, he's been doing it since the 70s, so...
03:15We are here like the third time this year, you know, and we keep coming back and pretty much 2014
03:28we're gonna probably do about two, three tours here. It's in the works, so it is going to happen,
03:33you can pretty much say it's a fact, unless, you know, there is some situation going on in Kyiv,
03:38so unless we never make it out of there, you know, there's gonna be a Europe tour in March.
04:08Give it up for the Rebel God, Jeff Bush!
