00:16The petitioners had asked Meta to keep CrowdTangle until the end of the year and to maintain
00:20a similar approach with future tools.
00:23Meta instead announced a replacement called Meta Content Library and its Application Programming
00:28Interface, or API.
00:30Reports say access to Meta Content Library will be limited to only several hundred researchers.
00:35Journalists are ineligible to apply, unless they're part of a non-profit or partnered
00:39with a research institution.
00:42CrowdTangle had been useful in tracking and understanding how information and disinformation
00:46spread through Facebook and Instagram.
