01:46So we went to Jhopatpatti with Mr. M. Sagar, there a writer refused.
01:52Then he asked me to write the dialogue.
01:55It was not a matter of choice, but it was the most important film of my life, Sir H. D. Lutera,
02:01because that is where I met Salim Sahab.
02:05Salim Sahab was leading a romantic in that film,
02:11and I used to write the dialogue, and he used to trouble me so much, the director and producer,
02:17that I decided that after this I won't write.
02:20But the courage and appreciation that Salim Sahab gave me constantly,
02:27that if you can write such a dialogue in this film, then what will you do if it is a good film,
02:32you become a writer.
02:34So this whole thing ended.
02:36After that it was a coincidence that I came to Bandra, to a friend's house,
02:40and I used to live with him, he used to pay the rent, and I used to live.
02:45So Salim Sahab's house was nearby, so I started going to Salim Sahab's house,
02:50with all my love.
02:51One thing was that his food was ready.
02:54Then we used to sit and think of stories.
02:58One day we were sitting, and the same Mr. Sagar, who had made Sir H. D. Lutera,
03:04who had introduced us, he came, and he said that there is a short story,
03:09and if you make a screenplay for it, then how much money will you give?
03:14So he said, 5000, so come.
03:17I missed a heartbeat.
03:19So I said okay.
03:21So in 14-15 days we made the screenplay and gave it to him.
03:24This was ghost writing, we didn't have a name in the film.
03:27But there was a Sudhir Wahi there, who is still in touch with you.
03:31So Sudhir Wahi, he knew that it was our work.
03:35So he said, go to Sippy Film.
03:37So we thought, Sippy Film is so big, where will they give us work?
03:40But one day, we didn't have anything to do in the afternoon, so I left.
03:43So we talked there.
03:45So he said, you both come.
03:47I said, we were working together, we just finished.
03:49He said, you both come.
03:51So we both went.
03:52And then we got work there.
03:54So we met Rajesh Khanna there.
03:57Rajesh Khanna told us to write a screenplay with Hathi Miri.
