पाकिस्तान में मंकीपॉक्स के दो नए मामले सामने आए हैं, जिससे अब इसकी कुल संख्या तीन हो गई है। रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन यानी डब्ल्यूएचओ और अफ्रीका सीडीसी ने इसे वैश्विक स्वास्थ्य आपातकाल घोषित किया है। पाकिस्तान के खैबर पख्तूनख्वा में दो नए मामलों की पुष्टि हुई है, जबकि जनवरी 2023 से पाकिस्तान में 11 मामले और एक मौत की भी रिपोर्ट है। फिलहाल नए मरीजों को अलग किया गया है, लेकिन यह अभी तक ये जानकारी नहीं है कि वो क्लैड 1 बी स्ट्रेन से जुड़े हैं या नहीं, जो की अफ्रीका में फैल रहा है। डब्ल्यूएचओ ने चेतावनी दी है कि यूरोप में इस घातक स्ट्रेन के मामले बढ़ सकते हैं। वर्तमान प्रकोप क्लैड IIB से प्रेरित है, जो 2022 के प्रकोप के मुकाबले ज्यादा घातक और गंभीर हो सकता है।
