00:00If Jesus does rescue us, our lives will be meaningless. A teacher once asked her students who they thought Jesus was.
00:07Stephen, whose father was a judge, said, Jesus is a judge who punishes the wicked.
00:13Albert, whose father was a doctor, answered, Jesus is a healer.
00:18Michael, whose father was wealthy, said, Jesus is the one who can give everything.
00:23When it was Sargeo's turn, the teacher, knowing he came from a humble background, asked, who is Jesus to you?
00:31Sargeo answered, Jesus is like a recycler.
00:35The teacher asked why, and Sargeo replied, a recycler takes what is useless and makes it valuable.
00:41My father found me on the street, took me in, educated me, and made me valuable.
00:47If my father hadn't taken me, who knows where I'd be?
00:51Just like a recycler, Jesus takes what is broken and gives it worth.
00:56Let us not think that our achievements come from our strengths alone.
00:59It is Jesus who lifts us up. If Jesus does pick us up and make us valuable, our lives would be meaningless.
01:07Choose to draw near to Jesus, for he is the decision maker.
01:11Point to Peter 3.18 but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
01:17To him be the glory both now and forever. Peace be with you.
