A family trio from WA's remote north will compete in an international speedcubing competition in Perth in December.

00:22The challenge of solving Rubik's cubes within seconds has become a family obsession, and

00:29Especially when we have a huge age gap, we can just try and beat each other.
00:35Pei Cheng Nghia used to hold top spot in the family, with a sub-20 second record, but he's
00:41been toppled by his 10 and 12 year old children.
00:44They are now among the fastest in the country.
00:46I can't compete at all.
00:48Taylor and Tristan Nghia will travel to Perth with their father in December for the Oceanic
00:53Championships.
00:54The siblings are hoping to break their personal records, and there's a good chance these
00:58West Australians will soon be cubing with the national team.
