00:00The scope of the storytelling seen in the galaxy far, far away has grown exponentially
00:05since 1977, with its on-screen presence stretching almost 70 years of in-universe time.
00:11Of course, not every single detail within that period has been explored, and in fact
00:15there are some pretty big gaps that have been left wide open.
00:19This is where the Star Wars fans step in with some pretty compelling fan theories.
00:23There have already been some famously popular theories debunked, including those revolving
00:27around Snoke's true identity and Rey's parentage.
00:30But there is still so much of Star Wars left that exists between the lines.
00:35Thankfully, this always leads to great theories that make an undeniable amount of sense.
00:39So with that in mind, I'm Padawan Gareth from What Culture Star Wars, and here are
00:4310 Star Wars Fan Theories That Make Too Much Sense to Ignore.
00:4710.
00:48Darth Vader Stopped Luke from Going Down the Dark Path
00:52Throughout Star Wars, Emperor Palpatine has always tried to manipulate those around him,
00:56usually successfully so.
00:58The most obvious example of a character defying him was Luke Skywalker, who told him he would
01:02never join the Dark Side, but was that actually true?
01:06During the events of Return of the Jedi, Palpatine encourages Luke to strike him down, to channel
01:11all of his anger and hate and kill him.
01:14Ah, stop at that now.
01:15This would have completed his journey to the Dark Side, and Luke actually took the shot,
01:20it's just that Darth Vader blocked it.
01:22The most obvious explanation for this is that this was an apprentice protecting his master,
01:26but what if instead this was a father protecting his son from striking the blow that would
01:30have changed the course of the entire galaxy?
01:33Way back when, Palpatine encouraged Anakin Skywalker to kill Count Dooku in much the
01:37same way, starting him on the ultimate path to becoming a Sith Lord.
01:42Seeing that Luke was about to take that same path, Vader stopped him knowing just how crucial
01:46such a moment would have been.
01:48This may have actually been Anakin's first step back towards finding the good inside
01:51of him.
01:529.
01:53Darth Jar Jar Looking for a way to see Jar Jar as more
01:56than just the most annoying character in Star Wars history?
01:59Well look no further than the theory that suggests he is no mere Gungan idiot, but instead
02:03a powerful Sith Lord.
02:05He may come across as a bumbling buffoon, but he is clearly a skilled fighter.
02:10Just look at how he not only survived, but thrived in the Battle of Naboo.
02:14And there is his potential use of Jedi or Sith mind tricks.
02:18Jar Jar does gesticulate a lot when he speaks anyway, but watch when he gets promoted by
02:22Boss Nass to General, or when Padme raises him to Senator.
02:26Even when he addresses the Senate to convince them to give Palpatine emergency powers, in
02:30every instance his hands are waving as if using the Force to manipulate their minds.
02:35On that last point, surely the fact that it was Jar Jar who essentially won Palpatine
02:39the power to create the Empire, to remove democracy from the Senate altogether should
02:43ring some alarm bells?
02:45Add in the fact that both he and Palpatine are from Naboo, and may have had a relationship
02:49stretching back many, many years, and this theory starts to make more and more sense.
02:548.
02:55K-2SO doomed his entire droid line
02:58Rogue One, a Star Wars story, is one of the strongest movies the franchise has ever put
03:01out.
03:02It's easily the best outside of the original trilogy, and is rather unique among the rest
03:07in that it ends with every main character's death.
03:10There is, however, a theory that the sadness doesn't stop there, and that an entire line
03:14of droids was decommissioned as a result.
03:17The reason?
03:18Well, one of the galaxy's most beloved droids, K-2SO.
03:21Originally an Imperial droid, K-2SO was reprogrammed to fight with the Rebellion against the Empire,
03:26something that after the movie's conclusion on Scarif would have been impossible to hide.
03:30Perhaps this is the reason why no other similar droids are ever seen later in the Star Wars
03:34timeline.
03:35The Empire sees how easily K-2SO was corrupted, and immediately decommissions that particular
03:41line, and destroys any others to stop the risk of it happening again.
03:44How sad.
03:457.
03:46Yoda's home planet is Ilum
03:48It has never been confirmed exactly where in the galaxy Yoda comes from, but there is
03:52a compelling argument that it could be Ilum.
03:54This is a snow-covered planet where Jedi were taken for the gathering, a ceremony in which
03:58they would select the kyber crystal from which they would create their own lightsaber.
04:03Clearly this planet had strong ties to the Force and the Jedi.
04:06There have only been three of Yoda's species introduced on the screen thus far.
04:11Two of them, Yoda and Yaddle, are extremely powerful Jedi with seats on the council, with
04:14the other being Grogu, another incredibly force-sensitive being.
04:18This is no coincidence, and it would make sense if this species came from an environment
04:23so tethered to the Force.
04:25There is also the tiny added detail that in the Clone Wars Yoda didn't feel the need
04:28to wear a jacket on Ilum when everyone else did, apart from if you're a wookie.
04:33Could this suggest that the Jedi Master was used to the freezing temperatures of his home
04:37planet?
04:38Maybe.
04:396.
04:40Anakin's Father There are a lot of reasons why Qui-Gon Jinn
04:43gravitated towards Anakin Skywalker and believed him to be the prophesied Chosen One.
04:48Among the fact that his midichlorian count was higher even than that of Master Yoda's,
04:52there was the fact that he didn't have a father.
04:54Naturally, this immediately raised eyebrows.
04:57His mother couldn't explain it, but a hugely popular Star Wars fan theory certainly could.
05:01There must have been some force behind Anakin's conception, and with Darth Plagueis teaching
05:06his apprentice Darth Sidious everything he knew, including how to manipulate the Force
05:10into creating life, it's hard to disagree with this one.
05:13Knowing the Rule of Two would be so important to him as a Sith Lord, why would Palpatine
05:17not decide to create his own tailor-made apprentice?
05:20He craves power, and this would be one more thing that was under his control.
05:24Yes, he may have had apprentices like Darth Maul and Count Dooku in the meantime, but
05:28ultimately wouldn't the Emperor be able to rely on one he designed and created himself
05:32in a way he couldn't with anyone else?
05:345.
05:35Grogu was created by the Force
05:37Coming off the back of the previous theory, should Palpatine have been able to create
05:41Anakin from the midichlorians alone himself, there is a further theory that this act of
05:45evil was combated directly by the Force itself.
05:48The hinge of the theory is that Anakin Skywalker and Grogu were supposedly born in the same
05:52year of 41 BBY.
05:55With the idea being that this wasn't a coincidence, what if the Force actually created Grogu
05:59as it may have done Yoda and Yaddle previously in a time of need?
06:03The mystery behind the race of little green Force users could be explained by them perhaps
06:07not even having a home world at all.
06:10Instead, they are created by the Force itself, Grogu being brought into the world as a direct
06:14opposition to the evil that Palpatine brought forth in Anakin.
06:18Ultimately he could be the light side's yin to the dark side's yang.
06:224.
06:23Yoda is Grogu's father
06:24Yes, Grogu may have been created by the Force, but that's certainly not the only fan theory
06:29surrounding the small green creature that took the world by storm in 2019 and 2020.
06:34Maybe those that referred to Grogu as Baby Yoda weren't that far off after all.
06:38It's well known that Jedi are forbidden from love and from starting families.
06:42This is why Anakin's marriage to Padme had to be kept secret.
06:45There are exceptions however, one of which was Ki-Adi-Mundi.
06:48As part of Star Wars Legends, the Jedi Master was allowed to have a child in order to try
06:52and save his endangered race.
06:55Though by definition anything classed as Legends is no longer canon in the Star Wars universe,
06:59something similar could have happened with Yoda.
07:01He and Yaddle, the only two of their species at the time known to the Star Wars universe,
07:05were both insanely Force sensitive, both rising to the rank of Jedi Master.
07:10It would have made sense then that the Jedi Order would want to create more of this powerful
07:14race.
07:15Could they have greenlit Yoda and Yaddle coming together strictly just to create another of
07:18their species?
07:19In the hope that they too would grow to be one of the most powerful Jedi of their time?
07:23Perhaps, eh?
07:243.
07:25Kira leaked information to Enfys Nest
07:28Han's story in Solo was something of a comedy of errors.
07:31A lot of the time it seemed the only thing to move the story on would be a mistake or
07:35a plan backfiring.
07:37On more than one occasion this came in the form of Enfys Nest.
07:40During Han's original mission with Tobias, it was Enfys who was a thorn in their side.
07:44A thorn that ultimately led to Dryden Vos' potential coaxium take being lost.
07:49The resulting heist of unrefined coaxium from Kessel was also interrupted by Enfys.
07:54Clearly she had tangled with Tobias before the events of the movie ever happened, but
07:57how did she know so much about where they were going to be and when?
08:01One Hollywood reporter interviewer offered a theory to Solo writer Jonathan Kazdan that
08:05it was Kira who was leaking this information.
08:08The idea behind this is that Han's love either wanted to bring Dryden Vos down to
08:11free herself, or to cease his power as she ultimately did by the end of the movie.
08:16Though Kazdan said it wasn't exactly what was in his mind at the time, he did say that
08:20it was a great theory and never actually said no, so…
08:242.
08:26One of the key pieces to the opening scenes of The Force Awakens was Finn's baptism
08:30of fire on the battlefield for the First Order, and his subsequent betrayal and desertion.
08:34However, the more his backstory is examined, the more questions are raised.
08:39The character that would be known as Finn was apparently taken by Imperial forces when
08:43he was just a child, too young to remember who his true family were, yet the battle on
08:47Jakku at the start of the movie was his first combat experience as a Stormtrooper.
08:51Why would this have taken so long?
08:53There is also the fact that the image on his ID card is of him as a child.
08:57Again, having supposedly been a part of the Imperial forces since he was a child, why
09:01wouldn't this have been updated?
09:03This theory poses an answer to both questions, stating that Finn is in fact still something
09:07of a child.
09:08The clone troopers produced on Kamino during the Clone Wars were put through age and growth
09:12acceleration to ensure the Grand Army of the Republic wasn't waiting two decades for
09:16its troops to grow into maturity.
09:18Who's to say the First Order didn't do a similar thing with its own Stormtroopers
09:22for those very same reasons, eh?
09:24It's generally considered that Luke Skywalker is one of the greatest Jedi Knights of all
09:31time.
09:32However, it wasn't always this way.
09:34Anakin Skywalker was once considered too old to be trained by Qui-Gon at just 9 years old,
09:39and yet Luke was almost double that when he first learned about the Force.
09:43Immediately, he was at a disadvantage.
09:45Even by the end of The Empire Strikes Back, Luke was very much a beginner.
09:49This all changed by the beginning of Return of the Jedi, however.
09:52By this time, he had become nothing short of a Jedi master.
09:54He couldn't have ultimately defeated the Emperor if he wasn't far more skilled than
09:58before, and the only way he could have gotten this good would be to train with a true Jedi
10:02between the two movies.
10:03The manner of his conversations on Dagobah suggested that he hadn't seen Yoda or Obi-Wan
10:08at all in that time.
10:09So who could it have been?
10:11Arguably the most compelling answer to this question is Ahsoka Tano.
10:14There has always been a question as to what the former Padawan was doing during the original
10:18trilogy, and this could fill in a huge gap.
10:21Do better to train Luke Skywalker to defeat Anakin than Anakin's own Padawan, right?
10:25Hopefully there will be some insight into these years in Ahsoka's upcoming solo show
10:29on Disney+, and it would make a lot of sense should this be revealed.
10:33And if it is, you heard it here first, eh?
