00:00I'm going to attempt to spend the next seven days in solitary confinement.
00:04Seal me up, bye Jimmy, hopefully I don't go insane.
00:08For the next seven days, I have to survive in this soundproof white room
00:12with zero human contact and zero stimulation.
00:14And because this is actually psychologically dangerous,
00:17the most important thing is the doctor outside making sure I don't go insane.
00:21I worked in psych hospitals for 23 years,
00:23and this is much worse than anything I've ever seen.
00:26Anything past 50 hours in a white room like this can lead to permanent psychological damage.
00:30And I'm about to do 168 hours.
00:33There is a chance that I actually start to lose my mind
00:36and go into something called psychosis.
00:39And they have to pull me out because it can cause permanent damage to me.
00:43He survived seven days buried alive. Is this much harder?
00:46Much harder. He doesn't have social contact.
00:48If your brain doesn't have information coming in,
00:50it generates craziness, it generates hallucinations, it generates paranoia.
00:54And all I have to survive for the next week is
00:57a bed to sleep on, a notebook with a pen,
00:59a refillable bottle of water, toothbrush with toothpaste,
01:02and a bar of soap, a toilet to use the bathroom,
01:05and a sink for water.
01:06At this point, it was clear to me it was going to be difficult
01:08to entertain myself during this challenge,
01:10especially on hour nine when I did this.
01:12You're probably wondering, how many tiles are on these walls?
01:15The correct answer is 1,900.
01:17And if you want the roof and floor included, then it's 2,860.
01:21But more importantly than all of that,
01:23according to my stomach, it is time to eat food.
01:26If you're wondering how I'm eating during this challenge,
01:28there's a conveyor belt here, which spans over 100 feet,
01:31so I can be fed without any human interaction.
01:34I think I've been in here around 14 hours.
01:37Isn't it crazy that at this point, I was already off by two hours?
01:40And so far, the hardest part of the challenge is no one's fed me yet.
01:44In hindsight, I should've ate more food before I came in here.
01:46But yeah, it would be really nice if someone fed me sometime soon.
01:50Your boy is very hungry.
01:52Ew!
01:53Did you wash your hands?
01:54Yeah, of course I did.
01:55No, he did not.
01:56We'll be sending him his meals randomly so he can't guess the time.
01:59Like, it's 6 p.m. right now, and we're sending him his breakfast.
02:02When are my friends gonna feed me?
02:05I am hungry.
02:07I am hungry.
02:09Now, because the room is soundproof, even though the food arrived,
02:12I didn't realize it until I checked two hours later.
02:15Too hungry to walk.
02:16That's a little dramatic, man. Come on.
02:18So when I finally checked...
02:20Oh, I was not actually expecting food.
02:22This tastes awesome.
02:23I mean, it's cold and soggy, but I'm just so deprived of feeling things.
02:26This is great.
02:28This solitary confinement set is literally wrapped in metal chains.
02:33If this set caught on fire, I would probably burn alive before they could unlock it.
02:37Anyways, I'm gonna think about other things than that.
02:40For the next few hours, I tried to keep myself as stimulated as humanly possible.
02:45Oh, that's kind of cool.
02:46He's got nothing. He has nothing to work with.
02:48If he's already resulting to this, for basic stimulation,
02:51I have my doubts that he'll last seven days.
02:53It's interesting how when you take everything away from a man,
02:56something as simple as a metal plate can be, like, as fun as an iPhone.
03:00He's gonna get agitated by way of boredom.
03:03This is a very dehumanizing experience.
03:06I'm just gonna go to bed, and we'll see what happens.
03:12I think I'm around 40 hours into the challenge.
03:15Jimmy's six hours off on what time he thinks it is.
03:17Which means it's around 4 p.m. on day number two.
03:20I thought he'd be on track today.
03:21Losing my sense of time led to other problems.
03:24No matter what I do, I literally just can't sleep.
03:28These lights are just really messing with my brain.
03:34Maybe I just lay here for the next five days.
03:36The reason he has insomnia is he doesn't need to sleep.
03:39He wants to sleep this off and just get it over with,
03:42but what he should be doing is trying to do something
03:44that is gonna occupy his attention while he's awake.
03:47He's climbing the wall.
03:48It's the natural human urge for freedom.
03:50He's regressing to primal instinct.
03:52Why did I think it was 4 p.m.?
03:55Shouldn't that mean it's 9 p.m.?
03:57And by the time I had gotten around to eating my first meal,
04:00it was 4.30 in the afternoon.
04:01Don't get me wrong, the food looks good,
04:03but it is freezing cold.
04:06I'd rather starve than eat the rest of this, so...
04:11And when my second meal had arrived,
04:13it felt like only minutes had passed.
04:15What just came through the conveyor belt?
04:17Wait, how long has it been?
04:18Am I supposed to eat both, or...?
04:20It definitely was day two when I got the second breakfast,
04:23but I didn't eat much of the breakfast,
04:25so maybe they felt bad because I didn't eat much of the breakfast.
04:27We'll know.
04:28At this point, I had no idea how long that first meal
04:30was sitting in the conveyor belt for.
04:32He's getting a little paranoid.
04:34That's the thing that can get worse as time goes on.
04:36It's only day two.
04:38I'm not sure what to do.
04:39I think I'm gonna just see how high I can count.
04:41One, two, three, four...
04:43It looks crazy, right?
04:47But when you're in a situation where there's nothing to do...
04:51What's crazy is to just succumb to it.
04:55As this progresses, he's gonna run out of random things to do.
04:58And I gotta give it to him. The doctor was right.
05:01Because later in this challenge, I borderline go insane.
05:04Do you think I'd get a...
05:05Do you think I'd...
05:14I don't know.
05:25And while my strategy to sleep through most of the challenge
05:28did help pass the time,
05:29it ended up hurting me in other ways.
05:36I see food over there.
05:37It's freaking soggy and cold.
05:40How long has this been sitting here?
05:41This food's been sitting there for seven hours.
05:44I would've given anything to eat that ice cream.
05:47It would've been nice to have edible parts of the meal.
05:50But I guess I'll just be hungry again.
05:52Normally, because we're working on so many videos at once,
05:55I'm usually, like, incredibly stressed.
05:58As of right now, I don't really feel that stressed at all.
06:01But I feel a ton of anxiety
06:03because I have this severe FOMO
06:05that I'm missing tons of cool stuff going on in the world.
06:07It's weird.
06:08It's a different emotion than I'm used to.
06:11It's pretty crazy how hard it is to do nothing.
06:16I'm starting to get really bored.
06:18Oh, this is getting very hard on me mentally.
06:20I'm bored!
06:22Help.
06:23I was nowhere near the 168-hour mark.
06:26So by hour 65, I started to wonder...
06:29How do you do a handstand?
06:36Ow!
06:38I wish before I came in here,
06:39I had someone teach me the basics of how to do a handstand.
06:44He's gonna have to invent concepts that only exist in his mind
06:47to keep himself from experiencing intense depression.
06:50I'm just gonna envision that I'm currently walking in a park.
06:53There's green grass.
06:55Someone's fishing.
06:57He's literally making up scenarios in his head right now.
06:59Oh, my God.
07:00Oh, no, it's very sunny.
07:02I hear birds.
07:05You're ruined by walking the park!
07:06Oh, my God.
07:08I'm watching him slip into madness.
07:11Ooh, they gave me more food.
07:13But it looks like we got some rice, sweet potato, and steak.
07:17This is the best meal I've gotten so far at this challenge.
07:20If you look right here, you'll see some rice.
07:22And any ordinary human would probably eat this rice.
07:25But I'm gonna count it.
07:2713, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18...
07:2997, 98, 99, 100, 104, 105, 106, 107, 108, 109, 210...
07:3520 for 21, for 22, for 23...
07:37445, 446, 447.
07:41There are 447 grains of rice on this metal tray.
07:45This information probably profoundly changed you as a human.
07:50I'm feeling pretty tired,
07:52which means it's probably the night of the 5th.
07:55I wasn't even halfway through the challenge
07:57and was already off a full day.
07:59I'm gonna get some more Z's in the bathroom
08:02where it's not so freakin' bright.
08:04Which proved to be my smartest move yet
08:06because I actually slept in that bathroom for 12 hours.
08:09We're officially halfway into the challenge.
08:1184 hours.
08:13Jimmy is.
08:14And we're gonna tell him that in his next meals.
08:16To kind of mix it all up for him?
08:18I mean, he can still put the letters together.
08:20I am hungry, hungry I am.
08:23What are we working with here?
08:24What is this?
08:25Bros never heard of SpaghettiOs?
08:27And that wasn't the only thing I was forgetting the name of.
08:29What is this called?
08:31This is a...
08:34A roll.
08:35This is a lot of sauce for one roll.
08:37It kind of tastes like ketchup.
08:39How does he not notice the letters in there?
08:41Oh, that's an N.
08:42Yeah!
08:43You guys forgot to take these four SpaghettiOs out?
08:46No.
08:47Every time he finds a letter, he just keeps eating it.
08:51I hope those weren't supposed to spell something.
08:53I was magically supposed to realize that before I ate them.
08:56And then put it together to figure out a word for more food.
09:00Surely that's not what they wanted from me.
09:02Jimmy's about to watch this when he gets out and feels so dumb.
09:06Depression.
09:07At this point, the bright lights were starting to get to me.
09:10I have a ginormous headache right now.
09:13And I am so hungry.
09:15What is going on to my body?
09:17Well, he did ask for more food even though he is getting all the calories he needs.
09:21But the reason for that is that he's so understimulated, he thinks he's starving.
09:24I ended up checking for food over and over and over again.
09:28This is oddly soothing.
09:30Do you think I'd get a concussion from doing this?
09:33You should probably stop.
09:34You're right. I should probably stop.
09:39There's a bag of McDonald's here.
09:41It's suspiciously light.
09:43If there's not McDonald's in this bag, I'm going to be depressed.
09:47There actually is!
09:48Let's go.
09:49Every time I get a meal, it's like 20 minutes of just pure happiness.
09:54I feel human again.
09:55I can't stop smiling.
09:57I'm so happy.
09:58And then the second I finish it, I feel a wave of depression.
10:02Because I'm like, what do I do now?
10:05The seconds are starting to blend together so much.
10:08I would try to guess what time it is, but I have no earthly idea.
10:11My mind is slowly deforming into stupidity.
10:15I need to occupy myself better.
10:17We're going to grab this McDonald's cheeseburger wrapper,
10:19as well as this cup that was holding my toothbrush.
10:22And now, we have basketball.
10:24LeBron.
10:25Steph.
10:26Kobe.
10:28Maybe basketball is not my thing.
10:29I think I was always better at baseball.
10:31Strike!
10:34That was not what was supposed to happen.
10:36And then I remembered,
10:37Look what I have.
10:38Oh, there's a fork on it.
10:39That I had an indestructible plate from my very first meal.
10:42I am going to throw this so far, it is hilarious.
10:48I'm bored.
10:50I still have two days left inside this room.
10:52And I have a feeling at some point, I'm going to want to leave.
10:55It's day four.
10:56No matter how much I bang, or scream, or plead.
11:00Or burp.
11:01Do not let me out of this room early.
11:03Okay, Jimmy, I got you.
11:04My instincts tell me, I've so far done 113 hours.
11:08Which means I have 55 hours remaining.
11:10And whoever's editing this, show them how many hours I actually have remaining.
11:13Hopefully, it's somewhere close to 55 hours.
11:16I think he's going to get angry and possibly paranoid about what's going on.
11:20Is a man not allowed to have privacy?
11:23There's a camera there.
11:24There's a camera above that.
11:25There's a camera, camera, camera, camera, camera, camera, camera.
11:28There's so many cameras on me 24-7.
11:31I'm going to go insane!
11:33What if we throw the camera through the conveyor?
11:36Genius.
11:37I treat it like bowling.
11:39Somehow, I hit my finger.
11:41Ow!
11:42Ah!
11:46I severely underestimated how hard this video would be.
11:49Just thinking about it has me tearing up.
11:51But I kind of feel like an animal right now.
11:54I feel like I lost all my rights as a human.
11:56If I had to guess, I would say I'm halfway through day five.
11:59I really miss my girlfriend.
12:01And I miss my family.
12:03I miss my family.
12:05Day five.
12:06I really miss my girlfriend.
12:08And I miss the gang as well.
12:10Even Nolan.
12:12Even Nolan.
12:14Mentally right now, I'd say I'm at literal rock bottom.
12:17This is very inhumane.
12:19I've been in here so long that some of my dreams are about me in this room.
12:23And I think it's like day six or seven.
12:25But then I wake up and realize it was a dream.
12:29What time is it?
12:30I would pay so much money to know what freaking time it is.
12:34Let's go over why I think there are 33 hours left in this challenge.
12:39I've slept five times.
12:42Reason number two.
12:43I usually poop once a day.
12:44And I've also pooped five times since I got in here.
12:48Reason number three.
12:49I've grown a lot of hair on my neck here.
12:51And this usually does take like a week.
12:53If for some reason it's still...
12:57If for some reason it's still day five.
12:59Or God forbid it's somehow still day four.
13:01I will lose my mind.
13:04While I was sleeping, I had a dream about the one time that I counted to 100,000.
13:08And so when I woke up, I decided to...
13:10To do a thousand laps around this room.
13:12You know, for old times sake.
13:14I'll be the marker.
13:15One.
13:16Watching back this footage, it's literally crazy.
13:18I resorted to walking in circles to keep myself sane.
13:22A thousand is way too many.
13:23I'm already starting to get dizzy.
13:24This entire challenge, I've been getting water out of this sink.
13:28And I'm going to be honest.
13:30I'm not...
13:31Bro.
13:32Circle is a flavor cartridge you can screw on your water bottle.
13:35It makes bland water taste amazing.
13:37There's over a hundred different flavors that fit this bottle.
13:40That are all zero calories and zero sugar.
13:44Moving this tripod is miserable.
13:47Choose how intense you want the flavor.
13:50And then start drinking away.
13:51It honestly adds so much flavor, I can't even tell it's sink water.
13:54I've been drinking fruit punch throughout this challenge.
13:56And it actually makes the water taste amazing.
13:59I'm going to walk back and forth between these walls.
14:01These cartridges also last for multiple refills of your water bottle.
14:04Which is good, because the boys suck at sending these.
14:07And sometimes I've got to use the same one for a whole day.
14:09If you want to start drinking more water.
14:11Or just want your water to start tasting good in general.
14:14Go to drinkcircle.com or your local Walmart to give it a try.
14:17I've tried everything.
14:18To keep myself entertained.
14:19And I'm going to be honest.
14:20I'm not going to do it again.
14:22I've tried everything.
14:23To keep myself entertained.
14:24And I'm going to be honest.
14:26It's not working.
14:28And after I finished all my circles.
14:30Carl brought back two people from 100 days trapped together.
14:32We're here.
14:33Hey check it out.
14:34You guys are going to love this.
14:35That's the face of the guy that trapped you guys for 100 days.
14:39Would you say this is easier or harder than what you guys did?
14:41In comparison.
14:42I think I'd rather have like someone else in it with me.
14:46And now that the tables had turned.
14:48And I was the one inside the white cube.
14:50Bailey and Susie got their revenge.
14:51So I'll show you guys how the conveyor belt works.
14:54They sent an empty tray.
14:55He's about to freak out.
14:57I don't feel bad at all.
14:58This is what he gets.
14:59I bet every dollar in my bank account.
15:01Carl just showed up.
15:02No way.
15:04You hungry Jimmy?
15:06Eat this.
15:07We're not doing this again.
15:08We are not doing this.
15:09We're not doing this.
15:10This is the most stimulation he's had in days.
15:21Well, you got to give him credit.
15:23I probably deserve that.
15:27Imagine this is what happens after you die.
15:31You just go to a white room like this forever.
15:34That would be miserable.
15:37When I sleep, I dream of me in the outside world.
15:40And when I'm awake, I'm just depressed, lonely.
15:45And to be honest, miserable.
15:46So the more time I spend sleeping, the happier I am.
15:50Let me out.
15:53I'm better.
15:56I feel dead.
15:57I really need to get out of here.
15:59We did seven days on a raft.
16:01We did seven days buried alive.
16:03And now seven days in solitary confinement.
16:06If I had known how hard this would be,
16:08I never would have done this.
16:10At that hour number, I was like,
16:12If I had known how hard this would be,
16:13I never would have done this.
16:15At that hour number in the top left,
16:17says anything higher than 20,
16:19I'm going to lose my mind.
16:21I am feeling extremely lonely.
16:23I miss my girlfriend.
16:25This is torture.
16:26Is he crying?
16:27He's not doing well.
16:29He's just like napping on the floor,
16:31throwing things, having tantrums,
16:33getting happy when he gets snacks.
16:35He's like a child.
16:36I think there's eight hours left,
16:38and then they're going to open that door right there,
16:40and I am free.
16:42I hope. I pray.
16:43Please be eight hours.
16:44He thinks he's sleeping through
16:46the last couple hours right now.
16:47That's what he thinks this is.
16:48So it's going to be a rude awakening, literally.
16:50To be honest, it's concerning.
16:53I give it maybe another two to three hours,
16:55and that door opens.
16:56So I'm going to enjoy my last meal,
16:58and then we're getting out of here.
16:59Did he just say it's his last meal?
17:00I think so.
17:01Well, that's ironic,
17:02because it's literally exactly 24 hours.
17:04Any hour now,
17:05they're going to be walking through that door.
17:07So I'm going to clean up the place.
17:08It's a little messy, you know.
17:10I was trying to make up an excuse to clean,
17:12but in reality, I'm just bored.
17:14I thought coming into this experiment,
17:16I would get more mental clarity,
17:18maybe learn a little bit about myself.
17:20But in reality,
17:21all I'm walking away with
17:22is the newfound skill
17:24of being able to throw things out a conveyor belt door.
17:27Or maybe not.
17:28There is just no world
17:30where there's more than 24 hours left.
17:32I can't do another 24 hours in here.
17:35I'm at my limit,
17:36but it doesn't even matter.
17:37There's just not 24 hours left.
17:39I just don't...
17:40I refuse to believe that.
17:42So any second now.
17:44Any second now.
17:46Any second now.
17:47To pass the time,
17:48I'm going to resume counting.
17:501, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7,
17:558, 9, 10, 11, 12,
17:5913, 14, 15, 16, 17,
18:0318, 19, 20, 21,
18:075,422, 5,423,
18:105,424, 5,425.
18:20I swear to God,
18:21I heard something out there.
18:30I'm sad.
18:33I'm sad.
18:35I am sad.
18:37I am sad.
18:40I don't want to be here.
18:44Get me out of this room.
18:47I don't want to be here.
18:49I don't want to be here.
18:50I don't want to be here.
18:53This is barely human.
18:54He's lying in bed,
18:55covering his eyes,
18:56no excitement.
18:57This is totally not what you want to see.
18:59How is he going to act?
19:00Is he going to be a new human?
19:01I'm worried he's going to be this human.
19:03He's just collapsed into dysfunction.
19:05We've never pushed him
19:06as far as he has pushed in this video.
19:08Well, because he's been totally deprived
19:10of any human contact.
19:11Be gentle.
19:12Like a little kid waking up from a nap.
19:14Well, there's 10 minutes left,
19:16so let's go get ready.
19:18Good luck.
19:22I'm going to die.
19:23Ah!
19:24Ah!
19:25Fuck.
19:30Fuck.
19:33Hold on.
19:34Wait, I don't even have pants on.
19:38Oh, my gosh.
19:39Hey, Jimmy.
19:40Sorry, I was just putting my pants on.
19:42It's not as bright out here.
19:43How is it, dude?
19:44I'm actually kind of lightheaded.
19:45You know, it's crazy,
19:46but after this challenge,
19:47I kind of forgot how to interact with humans.
19:49Where are you going?
19:51Ugh.
19:52It's actually relieving
19:53to not stare at a bright light.
19:55It's like the ceiling is awesome.
19:57This is the happiest I've seen you in a long time.
20:00Honestly, I thought it was perpetually
20:02just going to be 24 hours forever.
20:04Follow the outside.
20:05I want to see the sun.
20:08Oh, my God.
20:09Oh, it's dark out.
20:10So nice to see the outside world.
