00:00Right, Maja. Welcome to Elgin City, first of all.
00:03Thank you very much.
00:04It's a long way from Norway.
00:06Yeah, it is.
00:07Can you tell us a little bit about the journey
00:09which has taken you from your homeland here to Borough Briggs?
00:12It was my dad, actually.
00:14So he's the main reason I'm here,
00:17since we were here on holiday.
00:19And he got in good touch with Chris and Mo,
00:22and then I had to have a gap year.
00:24Okay.
00:25So then just come here to play football.
00:27Fantastic.
00:28Tell me about your football so far,
00:29and who have you played for back in Norway?
00:31I've played for two clubs.
00:33Storhavn, since I was six years old.
00:37That was the club I started in.
00:38And last year I switched to Otterstad.
00:41I will be living with Chris and Dennis.
00:44Okay.
00:45I'm very happy that I can live with them,
00:47because they're a big part of this journey as well,
00:50since it's quite hard to find a place to live.
00:54Yeah, it really does look like a nice area.
00:57So that's a big part as well,
00:59why I chose Elgin.
01:00Because it's a small city,
01:02but big enough to have things to do and stuff.
01:05So it's really nice.
01:06It's not too big for me.
01:07No?
01:08It will get nice to settle down,
01:10and go into the team and everything.
01:13And how have the people of Elgin and of Mariby
01:15been welcoming you so far?
01:17Everyone has been very welcoming,
01:19just from the start,
01:20where I was just texting with Mo and Chris.
01:24And then I came, and then everyone was welcoming.
01:28That's also a big reason that I wanted to come over here,
01:31because I like the team.
01:34I really want to make an impact on the team,
01:35and hope to help them go up the division.
01:38I think they're a really nice group,
01:40where they include everyone and everything.
01:43I'm really looking forward to meeting them,
01:46be friends and play with them.
01:48What I really like about them is,
01:50they set up the trainings,
01:51and let you say straight out what you need and everything.
01:55So that's great.
01:56That's great.
01:57So Sunday, you just can't come along quick enough, I guess?
02:00Yes, no, I'm very excited.
02:02I'm going to training today,
02:04so I'm looking forward to that as well.
02:05Meet the girls.
02:06I moved here mostly for the football.
02:09That's the main thing.
02:10So I will enjoy that.
02:12Of course you will, yeah.
02:13And do you have any ambitions in football?
02:15Have you set yourself any targets in football for the future?
02:19I do have some,
02:20since I want to become a professional footballer,
02:23but it's far away.
02:25But we'll see.
02:28Elgin City could provide you with a stepping stone in that direction?
02:30They can.
02:31For me, just coming to England is like a dream to play abroad.
02:35So it's a big start for me.
02:38They are pretty much different,
02:40especially the people.
02:42Everyone I've met here is very welcoming and stuff,
02:44so I'm very happy about that.
02:47The culture is a bit different.
02:49Yeah, I've been to...
02:51I don't know.
02:53I've only been here for a year,
02:55so it tells you how good I like it.
02:58In Norway, the men's team is not good.
03:01They can't play, so...
03:03Yeah, I don't know.
03:05We have a certain player called Haaland,
03:07who does very...
03:09Yeah, that's very weird,
03:10because we've got Haaland and Ergar,
03:12who play for Arsenal.
03:13So we have an Oscar Blevd as well,
03:16who's now been a big star in City as well.
03:18But we have many good Eurovision players,
03:21but it doesn't seem they've managed to play well together.
03:25So I hope they can be better later.
03:29So you're a Norwegian striker coming to Elgin.
03:31Will they be hoping to score as many goals as Haaland?
03:34That's the goal, yeah.
03:36We'll be really impressed if you can do that anyway.
03:39Yeah, I hope so.
03:41I really want to have an impact on the game.
03:44We'll see what happens.
