00:00A few of our countrymen went to Manila to watch the Heroes Parade for the Philippine Olympics.
00:10After the parade, there was a program at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex
00:14where the Olympic medalists thanked and gave a message.
00:19This is Joseph Moro.
00:22It was fun to see the faces of the Philippine Olympians at the Heroes Welcome Parade.
00:29Their victory was even sweeter when they greeted each other.
00:36From the Alley Oof Theater in Pasay, the 16-athlete's float arrived in some parts of Manila
00:42including two-time Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo.
00:45They played a game of fighting with the fans.
00:47They fought and signed t-shirts, balls, posters, hats, and more.
00:55In the middle of the fans, in Ross Boulevard, there was a banner that said,
00:59Caloy, this is where your father is.
01:01Carlos' father, Mark Andrew, was proud to cheer for his son while carrying people.
01:06He gave a thumbs up and greeted his father, Carlos.
01:10In a Facebook post, Carlos tagged his father and said he was happy to see him.
01:15He added, I'll see you soon.
01:17I'm very happy because he's our hero in the Philippines.
01:22More fun in the Philippines.
01:24I'm also happy that we saw him and Yulo.
01:29I was very inspired by him in his training, how he fought, how he fought in his training.
01:37I was very touched because even though I'm just a simple player,
01:40I'm giving my best in every training so that I can use the gold medal.
01:45When it came to Taft Avenue, the crowd slowed down.
01:49Later on, the confetti of the Coast Guard and Air Force helicopter exploded.
01:54In Querino Avenue, Carlos' grandmother, Angelita Fokis, and her siblings were waiting.
01:59Grandma Angelita was happy to see Carlos even though they couldn't see him
02:04because his grandchild was giving him an autograph.
02:08After almost 2 hours, the motorcade arrived at Rizal Memorial Sports Complex.
02:12The athletes were introduced one by one.
02:18There was also a performance.
02:20At the same time of thanking, Carlos was also given a gift.
02:25I'm very proud of the people who are standing here beside me.
02:30The motivation that I get from them and the things that I learn from them is amazing.
02:38I'm very proud of the people who are standing here beside me.
02:43The motivation that I get from them and the things that I learn from them is amazing.
02:50They are all very inspiring.
02:52We will do better in the next competitions.
02:56You can expect that we will get more medals.
03:01At the LA Olympics, I'm going to have a team.
03:04Not only Carlos Yulo, I want a whole team, a Philippine team.
03:08We are very thankful for your support and prayers,
03:13especially to those who are watching us.
03:16It's a good day here in the Philippines.
03:18To the youths who are aiming,
03:21to all of us who are here in front of you,
03:26don't stop yourself.
03:29Don't stop your dreams.
03:32Always remember,
03:34in every failure of the Lord,
03:37the Lord's plan is always better than ours.
03:43Joseph Morong, reporting for GMA Integrated News.
03:49President Bongbong Marcos' plan is to give more support to the Filipino athletes.
03:53The government will improve the system to give the athletes better training.
03:58This is to give more medals to the Philippines in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics
04:03following the success of Carlos Yulo, Ira Villegas, and Neste Pepecio in the Paris Olympics.
04:09The Chamber will study the current laws to give more benefits to the athletes and their coaches.
04:18The Philippine Olympic Committee will encourage the participation of Filipino athletes
04:22in more international competitions
04:24and the acquisition of foreign coaches that will contribute to the well-being of the Filipino athletes.
04:35Aside from the support of the Filipinos,
04:37the cash incentives for the Philippine Olympics have also increased this year.
04:41President Bongbong Marcos' plan is to give more assistance to the Filipino athletes.
04:47Jonathan Andal reporting for GMA Integrated News.
04:50The Double Gold Medalist, Carlos Yulo, was blessed by the President.
04:57The President's 20 million peso cash incentive for the Heroes' Welcome in Malacanang,
05:02which is in accordance with the law, was given by the Office of the President for 20 million pesos.
05:07More than 14 million pesos from the House of Representatives,
05:11while 2 million was promised by the local government of Manila where he grew up.
05:16In total, Yulo will receive 56 million pesos from the government.
05:20The 32 million pesos worth of fully furnished 3-bedroom condo units in BGC was also turned over to Golden Boy.
05:28He was also given an art piece and 3 million pesos.
05:32God will take care of us and give us good people. Thank you very much.
05:41The Bronze Medalist, Nesty Petesho and Ira Villegas, also received 4 million pesos.
05:46After the Office of the President approved the law,
05:50other non-medalists and coaching staff will also be accepted.
05:54After the Olympics, we will give 1 million pesos.
05:57The Office of the President will match what you will give for at least 10,000 pesos.
06:03Aside from that, because of our recognition of all the help,
06:09the coaching staff, we will also give half a million.
06:13But more than the awards, the President wanted to give more support to the athletes.
06:19The big Manila and World No. 2 pole vaulter EJ Obiena also received
06:24the 500,000 pesos incentive from Manila LGU.
06:28Jonathan Andal reporting for GMA Integrated News.
06:34The Olympic Bronze Medalist, Nesty Petesho, is still a target for gold.
06:38The Olympic Gold Medalist, Carlos Yulo, is aiming for the mental state
06:42before competing in the Paris Olympics.
06:44This is the news of Jamie Santos.
06:48Mental well-being.
06:50This is one of the things Carlos Yulo is aiming for for the Paris Olympics
06:55according to his Sports Occupational Therapist.
06:59I believe that having that part of the plan
07:03will reduce the stress of the athlete and the anxiety
07:08because he has an outlet, he has a partner in the process
07:13which is really difficult.
07:15And even though they went to international training camps,
07:18they were forced to do one thing.
07:20It was one of our priorities as well, to preserve
07:23so that Mr. Yulo can optimize to peak performance up to the Olympics.
07:30Nesty Petesho is the bronze medalist.
07:33Eyes on gold for now.
07:37EJ Obiena went back to training for the competition
07:41that will be held next week.
07:43I keep doing my best. The season is not over.
07:46There's still a few competitions for me to take part in this year.
07:49Hopefully I'll be able to retain my world ranking.
07:52Jamie Santos reporting for GMA Integrated News.
08:19.
