Arizona school official sparks uproar with crude Kamala Harris Facebook posts

An Arizona school district official has sparked uproar after crude posts he shared online about Vice President Kamala Harris.

James Knox made the posts, which have been described as degrading, about the presidential hopeful on his Facebook page, and has since deleted them.

According to AZFamily, those posts include one meme with a picture of Harris holding a chocolate bar labeled with the words old d*** on it.

Another is said to have shown the silhouette of a woman performing a sex act on two, which was labeled 'Harris 2024'.

Others are reported to have described her as being a 'DEI hire', or openly mocked the LGBTQ youth with the phrase 'Straight Pride'.

00:00My name is Connie Romano, and I am a resident of Queen Creek.
00:03I'm also an employee in the district.
00:06I am here with some people that I work with,
00:11because we have come before the board
00:12to formally complain about board member Knox's
00:15posts on social media, which we find unbecoming
00:18of an elected official.
00:20While his Facebook page is personal,
00:22he openly advertises his association
00:25with QCUSD in his bio.
00:28We respect everyone's right to free speech
00:30and personal political views.
00:31However, the memes Mr. Knox has been posting
00:34are vile, sexist, misogynistic, and borderline racist.
00:41These are not just our opinions, but are evident
00:44in the screenshots we have provided.
00:47It is crucial to remember that Mr. Knox represents
00:50a diverse district, including minority students,
00:53female students, LGBTQ students,
00:56and students of various faiths.
00:59The content he finds amusing is, in fact,
01:02offensive and disparaging.
01:03Imagine if a teacher in our district
01:05made similar posts on their private social media pages.
01:10What would your response be?
01:13Would that teacher still be employed by the district?
01:15It appears that Mr. Knox believes
01:17he should be held to a different standard than the staff who
01:19report to him.
01:21We find this behavior unacceptable for someone
01:24in his position.
01:26We urge the board to take appropriate action
01:28as this behavior warrants public censure, if not
01:31more serious repercussions.
01:33Should the board be unable to take action,
01:34we will ensure that the public is well-informed when Mr. Knox
01:38is up for re-election.
01:52The only thing I'd like to say is,
01:54those were not on that page.
01:56They're on my personal page.
01:57Those were not on my Queen Creek representative.
