00:00I told you my deepest, darkest secrets.
00:03I showed you exactly what people are capable of."
00:07Welcome to Miss Mojo, and today we'll be looking at the most well-liked celebrities who suddenly
00:11lost all public favor after behaving in ways that shocked and disappointed their fans.
00:16"...I'm not comfortable living with a criminal."
00:20Roseanne Barr
00:21Through the late 1980s and early 90s, Roseanne Barr became one of America's most popular
00:26comedians thanks to her hit ABC sitcom.
00:29Fans were thrilled when the show was revived in 2018, and they tuned in en masse, delivering
00:34massive ratings for the premiere.
00:35"...I don't know if we got time for the full symphony of love, but I'm sure we can knock
00:39off a few of the greatest hits."
00:42At a time when the country was largely divided, many were united in their praise for how Barr
00:47tackled timely issues while retaining the show's original voice.
00:50However, just after the revival aired, Barr posted an insensitive tweet targeting former
00:55White House adviser Valerie Jarrett.
00:57"...I'm fine.
00:58I'm worried about all the people out there who don't have a circle of friends and followers
01:02who come right to their defense.
01:04The person who's walking down the street, minding their own business, and they see somebody
01:08cling to their purse."
01:09All of the warmth she had received in the preceding months suddenly turned cold.
01:13Barr was fired by the network, leading to the cancellation of Roseanne, which was then
01:17retooled into The Conners.
01:19"...Harris, you hear anything?
01:21Don't drag me into your weird mind games."
01:24"...Has anybody even noticed how much better the flow is between the refrigerator and the
01:28sink?"
01:29Will Smith
01:30"...The people really look up to you.
01:31Do you plan on being a champ like Joe Louis?"
01:33"...Well, yeah, I'm gonna be the people's champ, uh, not like Joe Louis."
01:38Ever since he played a fictionalized version of himself on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,
01:42Will Smith has risen to become one of Hollywood's most bankable stars.
01:46Audiences loved him for his charisma and exceptional acting skills, which brought him both commercial
01:50success and critical praise.
01:52"...Was it as easy as it looked?"
01:54"...No, sir.
01:55No, no, sir, it wasn't."
01:56"...Well, good luck, Chris."
02:01After two prior Oscar nominations, it seemed like Smith was finally due for the award when
02:05he was nominated for King Richard.
02:07However, on the biggest night of his career, Smith slapped Chris Rock after he made a joke
02:12about his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith's, shaved head.
02:15The act drew immediate widespread condemnation from fans and industry peers alike.
02:20Although he eventually won the Oscar, Smith received a 10-year ban from all Academy events.
02:25"...Chris, I apologize to you.
02:31My behavior was unacceptable, and I'm here whenever you're ready to talk."
02:39Lance Armstrong
02:40Winning seven consecutive Tour de France titles is no easy feat.
02:44Doing that just after beating cancer makes you particularly superhuman.
02:47This was the image many had of cyclist Lance Armstrong, but it turned out his skills weren't
02:52so superhuman after all.
02:54"...I didn't live a lot of lives, but I lived one big one.
02:58You know, it's different, I guess.
03:00Maybe it's not."
03:01For most of his career, Armstrong was dogged by doping allegations, which he consistently
03:05denied.
03:06Those allegations were eventually proven to be true in 2012, when an investigation revealed
03:11that he not only used performance-enhancing drugs, but also helped other athletes do the
03:15same.
03:16"...Yes or no, in all seven of your Tour de France victories, did you ever take banned
03:23substances or blood dope?"
03:25"...Yes."
03:26Armstrong himself admitted to doping in a January 2013 interview with Oprah Winfrey.
03:30As a result, he was stripped of his titles, lost all his sponsorships, and was banned
03:34for life from competing in the sport.
03:36"...We've come too far in the fight against doping to return to our past.
03:42Doping has a future, and something like this must never happen again."
03:46Matt Lauer
03:47"...They came forward and filed complaints against the biggest star at the network they
03:53worked at."
03:54For years, Matt Lauer was a staple on the NBC News, known for hosting The Today Show
03:59and covering several Olympic Games.
04:01More than just a familiar face, Lauer was regarded as a reliable news anchor with a
04:05deep understanding of global events.
04:08However, during the Me Too movement in 2017, his image underwent a dramatic shift.
04:13"...We are grappling with a dilemma that so many people have faced these past few weeks.
04:18How do you reconcile your love for someone with the revelation that they have behaved
04:23badly?
04:24And I don't know the answer to that."
04:26Lauer was accused of sexual harassment by a female colleague at NBC, which led to an
04:31investigation by the network and, ultimately, the termination of his contract.
04:36Other allegations of misconduct soon followed, and Lauer largely withdrew from the public
04:40eye.
04:41Practically overnight, he went from a beloved television personality to a reviled name in
04:46the industry.
04:47"...Have you done some soul-searching?
04:49Have you done some self-reflection?
04:52And have you looked at the way you treated women that you think now, or think about differently
04:57now than you did at the time?"
04:59Steve Jobs
05:00"...There's a great deal of cruelty.
05:03Some of it mindless, some of it you ascribe to immaturity on his part, but it's painful
05:09to read."
05:10As the co-founder of Apple and a key figure in the PC revolution, Steve Jobs was undeniably
05:14one of the brightest minds of his generation.
05:17However, in the early 80s, his private matters became public when he denied paternity of
05:21his daughter Lisa, despite a DNA test showing a 94.1% probability of him being her parent.
05:28Jobs continued to cast doubts on the results, telling Time Magazine in 1983 that 28% of
05:33the male population of the United States could be the father.
05:37"...I wasn't saying you slept with 28% of American men.
05:41I was using an algorithm."
05:43This controversial statement factored into Time Magazine's decision to name the Apple
05:47Computer Machine of the Year instead of recognizing Jobs as a Person of the Year.
05:52Jobs eventually acknowledged his mistake and reconciled with Lisa before his death in 2011.
05:56"...I wished that we'd had more time together, and I think he wished that too, because we
06:03did like each other, and when we spent time together and we got along, it was kind of
06:07great."
06:08Ellen DeGeneres
06:09Ellen DeGeneres built a multi-million dollar career on being nice.
06:12She famously ended each episode of her talk show with,
06:15"...be kind to one another," and supported numerous charitable endeavors.
06:19This reputation earned her the adoration of millions around the world, but in 2020, reports
06:24surfaced that behind the scenes, DeGeneres failed to uphold these values.
06:27"...one makeup artist was quoted as saying that when he tried to make small talk with
06:32Ellen, she supposedly said, who do you think you are?
06:35Don't look at me."
06:36Several former staff members accused her of fostering a toxic work environment marred
06:40by racism, sexual harassment, and hostile behavior.
06:44Just like that, DeGeneres' kind image was shattered.
06:47"...I don't think that I'm that good that I could come out here every day for 17 years
06:51and fool you.
06:52This is me.
06:54And my intention is to always be the best person I can be.
06:58And if I've ever let someone down, if I've ever hurt their feelings, I am so sorry for
07:01that."
07:02She publicly apologized for the work culture and vowed to initiate changes, but the damage
07:07was already done.
07:08The show only lasted two more seasons before it was taken off the air.
07:12"...I walked out here 19 years ago and I said that this is the start of a relationship.
07:17And today is not the end of a relationship, it's more of a little break.
07:22You can see other talk shows now."
07:24Danny Masterson
07:25"...Steven, we're kicking you out."
07:28"...Yay, Daddy!"
07:29"...Red?"
07:30"...What?
07:31Dad, that's not fair!"
07:32"...Not fair?
07:33I took him in, I gave him a shot, he blew it.
07:38It's his fault!"
07:39For eight years, Danny Masterson played Steven Hyde on the Fox sitcom That 70s Show.
07:45Audiences were drawn to the character's quick wit and sardonic point of view, and Masterson
07:49became a fan favorite for his portrayal.
07:52However, during his time on the show, Masterson committed some despicable acts that only came
07:57to light years later.
07:58"...We first heard from the women who we aren't naming, they're all Jane Doe 1, Jane Doe 2,
08:03Jane Doe 3, and their stories were pretty horrific."
08:07In 2017, the actor made headlines after the Los Angeles Police Department opened an investigation
08:12into sexual assault allegations against him.
08:15Although he denied the allegations, Masterson was fired from the Netflix series The Ranch.
08:19He eventually faced criminal charges stemming from the accusations, and in 2023, he was
08:24convicted and sentenced to 30 years to life in prison.
08:28"...Masterson watched the women without any visible reaction during their comments, one
08:33woman calling him pathetic, disturbed, and completely violent."
08:36Chris Brown
08:37"...I know you heard about me, but guess what's going down in Wheely?"
08:42Chris Brown made a splashing debut in the music industry, earning a No. 1 hit with his
08:47first single, Run It.
08:48His impressive singing and dancing skills drew comparisons to Michael Jackson, and quickly
08:53established him as a promising star.
08:55While he did achieve even greater success, Brown's reputation took a severe hit in 2009,
09:01when he physically assaulted his then-girlfriend, Rihanna.
09:04The attack was so bad that Rihanna had to be hospitalized.
09:06"...This happened to me.
09:09I didn't cause this.
09:11I didn't do it.
09:14This happened to me, and it can happen to anybody."
09:17Brown subsequently pleaded guilty to felony assault, for which he received five years
09:21of probation and six months of community service.
09:24Although both artists have since gone their separate ways, the incident still casts a
09:28dark shadow over Brown's legacy, no matter how hard he tries to shake it off.
09:32"...From there, I said, you know what, I'm just gonna take everything, like it's come,
09:35my consequences for my actions have to be dealt with."
09:39Kevin Spacey
09:40"...Of course they're gonna say I'm being disrespectful, not playing by the rules, like
09:45I ever played by anyone's rules before.
09:48I never did, and you loved it."
09:52Before 2017, Kevin Spacey was riding high in his career.
09:55He had already won two Academy Awards and received widespread praise from fans and critics
10:00for his role in the Netflix series House of Cards.
10:03However, at the height of the MeToo movement, actor Anthony Rapp came forward alleging that
10:07Spacey had sexually harassed him back in 1986.
10:10"...And honestly, I was just concerned that it would be something that would keep happening,
10:15so if I could do something that could make a difference, I was eager to."
10:19Whatever favor Spacey still had with the public was completely lost when he decided to come
10:23out in subsequent public statement addressing the allegations.
10:27Fans abandoned him, colleagues condemned him, and Netflix severed all ties with him.
10:32Since then, Spacey has retreated from the spotlight, but in 2022, a jury found him not
10:36liable for Rapp's claims.
10:38"...This is the first time that he's actually been on trial for a sexual misconduct allegation,
10:43although there have been as many as a dozen or so people who have accused him of doing
10:48something wrong."

11:05Sean Diddy Combs
11:07Sean Diddy Combs was once a giant in hip-hop music.
11:11In 1993, he founded Bad Boy Records, which launched the careers of artists like The Notorious
11:17B.I.G., Faith Evans, and Janelle Monáe.
11:19He also signed singer Cassie, with whom he began a long-term relationship in 2007.
11:24"...What am I feeling?
11:25It's getting stronger.
11:26And I can't hold it back for much longer."
11:29Publicly, they seemed like a loving couple, but it appears, behind the scenes, Combs subjected
11:35Cassie to domestic violence.
11:37This came to light in November 2023, when Cassie filed a lawsuit against Combs, alleging
11:42repeated incidents of physical and sexual assaults.
11:44"...Cassie describing the music mogul as a vicious, cruel, and controlling man, saying
11:49she was trapped and held down by Combs.
11:52She's now suing him for what she says happened during what she's calling a cycle of abuse,
11:57spelling out incident after incident."
11:59Although he quickly settled the case, Combs initially denied the allegations.
12:03In May 2024, however, he owned up to them after surveillance footage emerged of him
12:08physically attacking Cassie.
12:09"...I felt sick, and I felt violently angry, and I felt like, I'm sure a lot of men and
12:16women feel looking at that video, that it's so disturbing that the video doesn't lie."
12:22Has any of your favorite celebs done something that made you lose all admiration for them?
12:26Let us know in the comments below.
12:28"...When people say it, I don't get mad at them, I'm more mad at myself because I feel
12:33like I am their reflection of what they're saying."
