00:00Again, we are not rooting for injuries.
00:05We are not glad to see this news, just rather marveling at the idea that Craig Misch kind
00:10of predicted this based on knowing Jazz Chisholm and his injury history in Miami, now in New
00:17York.
00:18Brian Hoke, who covers the Yankees for MLB.com, sharing out yesterday, Jazz Chisholm Jr. is
00:24likely headed to the IL with a left UCL injury.
00:28Chisholm is attempting to determine the severity and if surgery will be needed.
00:33Of course, Craig yesterday said that when he saw Jazz Chisholm get injured earlier this
00:38week to be a little bit skeptical, despite the fact that Jazz said he would be fine and
00:43be back in the lineup the following day.
00:46Craig, how did you come to know this?
00:49What do you make of the injury situation for Jazz Chisholm with the Yankees?
00:54So having like insight or inside information on the injury here is not accurate.
01:00That's not something that I had.
01:01But you know, it's funny.
01:03I had somebody watching our show yesterday telling me, oh, like you nailed it, like spot
01:08on.
01:09Here we go again.
01:10And again, this is no indictment on Jazz whatsoever.
01:13But in knowing his track record for being a someone who diagnoses his own injuries,
01:22he's batting 100 or less.
01:25And you know, that's just a fact.
01:26I mean, Jazz has has been hurt in the past.
01:31A lot of freak injuries, including, by the way, the one that just happened, which is
01:35no indictment on him.
01:37But what has happened in the past and continues to happen is after the game, Jazz says, I'm
01:42good and I'm going to play tomorrow.
01:45And the last few times this has happened, he's been out for the season.
01:48And so that's why when I saw this happen last night or two nights ago, whenever it was,
01:54the text started coming in.
01:55Did you see this?
01:56Did you see this?
01:57I'm like, oh, boy, like, here we go.
01:59And again, not rooting for this.
02:00In fact, I'm rooting for the opposite for Jazz.
02:02I want him to play 157 games this year and hit 40 home runs, which is probably what he
02:07would have done.
02:08But it just goes to show you that players cannot diagnose their own injuries.
02:13They all want to play.
02:14He wants to be in the lineup every single day.
02:17But the moral of the story is, unfortunately, guys, that this is a player that for another
02:22season is looking at a potentially extended absence.
02:27We don't know that yet.
02:28But if he does need UCL surgery, and we don't know that yet, that is going to cost him this
02:33season and maybe somewhat into next season as well.
02:38So fingers crossed that that doesn't happen.
02:40But maybe just a lesson to be learned when a player after a game says he's good and he's
02:44going to play the next day, you should be skeptical of that.
