00:00Success is the moment when opportunity meets preparation, and for Carlos Yulo, the years of hard work driven by dreams and dedication to his craft, belief in himself, and faith and trust in the Lord paid off in gold twice won in Paris.
00:16Ayra Villegas and Neste Petesho, meanwhile, say mental toughness as a result of focus and presence of mind is what got them through winning the bronze in the Paris Olympiad, as we hear more from our Alan Francisco.
00:31I'm super honored to experience this. I'm so thankful to the Lord that He gave me the strength to not give up on the trials that I went through.
00:47This is a happy and blessed experience, not because I'm tired, but because of the support of all Filipinos.
00:54In the past, we were just called athletes. Now, I feel like I'm one of the Filipino athletes. It's so nice to feel that way.
01:05Our Paris 2024 Olympics medalist, Carlos Yulo, Ayra Villegas, and Neste Petesho couldn't hide their joy on the warm welcome they and other athletes received from fellow Filipinos since they arrived.
01:18In the PTV's program, Malacanang Insider, Yulo shared his efforts to achieve success.
01:23He also mentioned his conversation with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. last night, where the President expressed jubilation over Yulo's achievements.
01:32Let's not forget to thank God for the talent and strength that He gave us. Let's love each other. Let's believe in each other's abilities.
01:44It's important that they don't trample on people. Let's be true to what we do. Let's be patient. Let's believe that there's a way for us.
02:01As for Petesho and Villegas, their weapons for victory, they claim, focus and presence of mind.
02:07As a first-timer Olympian, I am so grateful and blessed for the support that we received today.
02:17I hope that it's not just for us, especially for those who are just starting out.
02:25Especially in the province, because that's where we came from. We didn't think that we would come here.
02:32To all the athletes, I hope that we don't just bash what we read. We need your support.
02:41Just like you, you are also fighting for your life. We are also fighting for our country so that we can be recognized.
02:52They also thanked the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. for the support given to them as athletes.
02:59We also saw that they are still supporting us.
03:02Mostly because we know that in the current administration, when it comes to the next administration, it will stop. It will change.
03:10Now, it's not like that. They continue to support us.
03:13We saw that they really gave importance to the athletes. They supported us.
03:20There was support before, but now there's more. I hope that next time, there will be more.
03:27Philippine Olympic Committee President Abraham Bambol-Tolentino assured continued support for the Filipino athletes.
03:33There will be other new developments with regards to preparation, exposure.
03:47That's one of the main factors needed in preparing for a big competition.
03:54The trainings, the exposure.
04:00Exposure means all competitions outside the Philippines must be attended.
04:09Of course, with the support, with the logistical, everything, including the whole team.
04:18That's the best template. The whole team.
04:22You need a coach. You need a conditional coach. You need a personal coach.
04:28You need a therapist, psychologist, nutritionist. Give it all.
04:34He also mentioned the President's statement in vowing to help develop sports in the country is a significant factor.
04:40It's the first time. This is the first time. First Olympic from airport to Malacanang.
04:46We can really feel the importance of sports. And we can really feel the support of the first family.
04:54For two consecutive Olympics, we were number one in Southeast Asia.
04:59Despite the meager budget for that.
05:05So, the pronouncement of our beloved President is good.
05:10Starting today, let's look on how to develop more and support more on those sports.
