00:00Matt, there's been some controversy at the North Paris Arena where the boxing's taking place.
00:05Can you talk us through what's happening there?
00:10Yeah, 46 seconds of drama in the women's boxing there today.
00:13The Italian, Angela Carini, she withdrew from the event after she was struck in the face
00:19by the Algerian boxer, Iman Khalif.
00:23Now, the reason this is controversial, Charmaine, is that Khalif was disqualified
00:27from competing at the World Championships last year after she returned a test
00:31that showed elevated levels of testosterone.
00:35It has been an issue that's been bubbling away here at the Olympics,
00:38but it really came to the fore after this event.
00:42Carini said she'd never been struck so hard.
00:44She said she felt unsafe.
00:46She's worried that she could suffer a more serious injury or even something worse.
00:51This has really developed into probably the biggest story at the Olympics at the moment.
00:55I spoke to the Australian boxer, Marissa Williamson,
00:59after she was knocked out of the event in the round of 16.
01:02Here's what she had to say about this.
01:05If it's true, then Ibon, who did the initial genetic testing last year,
01:09need to be liaising with the Olympic Committee.
01:11But if it isn't true and you're just running down an athlete,
01:15then it's also not good at the same time.
01:18Would you be comfortable fighting against her?
01:20I've already fought against Iman, a hard fighter.
01:24My last fight was against Iman in the Netherlands in the final.
01:28You just keep punching in the sport of boxing.
01:30It doesn't really matter.
01:36Plenty of criticism coming the IOC's way over this issue,
01:39including from the tennis great Martina Navratilova.
01:41She says that the IOC's decision to allow this boxer and another Taiwanese boxer
01:47who also failed a similar test last year to compete,
01:50she says it's deplorable.
01:51The IOC has issued a statement, they say,
01:54that all of the relevant tests were followed
01:57and that these boxers have a right to compete here at these Olympic Games.
02:01But I think, Charmaine,
02:02that this is an issue we're going to hear more about in the coming days.
