Manila residents excited for upcoming homecoming of Filipino Olympians

00:00It is the country's version of the ticker-tape parade, a hero slow pass and review along the streets of Basay en route

00:06to the iconic Rizal Memorial Coliseum where thousands of Filipinos are expected to cheer them on along the entire parade route.

00:20The folks of Manila are very excited for the upcoming homecoming of the Olympians.

00:26Noticeable tarpaulins are mounted on posts along the route the athletes will take from the Paris Olympics.

00:32These tarpaulins feature images of the Olympians, including those who won medals.

00:37During the homecoming, a parade will take place from Pasay City to Rizal Memorial Sports Complex in Manila.

00:44The parade starts at 3.30pm tomorrow at the Aliu Theater in Pasay City and will traverse Rojas Boulevard,

00:51then turn right on P. Burgos towards Finance Road, turn right on Taft Avenue, then right on President Quirino Avenue,

00:59and finally, right on Aviatico Street heading to Rizal Memorial Sports Complex.

01:05Tight security is expected with the combined forces of Manila and Pasay City Police.

01:10Manila Police will deploy 400 personnel while Pasay Police will set up police desk.

01:16Meanwhile, people from Malate are eagerly awaiting the arrival of two-time gold medalist Carlos Yulo.

02:01The Rizal Memorial Sports Complex, where the parade will end, is the same place where Caloy used to train.
