Kolkata Rape Case

00:00So, it was very important that the way the doctor, the heinous crime was done, the way the cruelty was done and the West Bengal government is saying that we have arrested him and will get him awarded with death penalty.
00:15But before that, it is important that can a person who is being shown, can he do cruelty alone to this extent?
00:23So, there was already a question mark that at least there should be a free and fair investigation and it was necessary through the CBI, which has been ordered by the Supreme Court of India.
00:35So, on a primary level, it was very important that the investigation should be fair.
00:41So, for all the people who are protesting, we can call it a small good news.
00:48The biggest thing is that the population of 50% women in our country, no single person can say anywhere, whether he is an administrative officer, a political person or anyone, that the daughters of our country are completely safe.
01:06Four people were awarded death penalty in the Nirbhaya case and they were executed, but there is no deterrence in people.
01:14This case is also exactly the same as we have seen in the post-mortem report, to what extent the accused has done cruelty, who has murdered the doctor.
01:27There is also a case of rape, how blood is coming out of both his eyes.
01:32There are also wounds on his private parts, there is bleeding, he has wounds on every part of the body, and the way his head was also broken, so to this extent, where did this cruelty come from?
01:46So, this question mark is still there.
01:49On the one hand, we are saying that empower women, empower them financially, give them freedom.
01:58Are we ensuring the safety and security of the daughters who have been given freedom?
02:05That daughter was doing her work at the workplace, and the person who has been accused so far, who has been shown to be arrested, there is a Shibik police there, which cooperates with the main police, he was also working.
02:19And when that person is doing, then how can we say that our daughters are safe anywhere?
02:25In the houses, you will see the cases of POCSO, the child abuse that is happening with most of the children, the heinous crimes that are happening with them, are happening inside the houses, are happening in the school colleges.
02:36Now, this is a matter of the workplace.
02:38What happened with Nirbhaya, this crime happened inside the transport bus.
02:44Now, all of you have seen that in Ayodhya, the way that girl was 12-13 years old, that girl was 12 weeks pregnant.
02:55She was aborted.
02:57I think about all these things.
02:59So, on one hand, we are talking about the 21st century India.
03:02On the other hand, such heinous crimes are happening with our daughters.
03:05Why has no pilot project been run on this yet?
03:10That we are not just investigating, not just conviction, why are we not taking those preventive major steps to stop these crimes?
03:20How can the mindset of the people who are suffering from this mentality, who are committing crimes, be changed?
03:26There is a need to work on that grassroots level.
03:28See, the question you have asked is so important.
03:34Because people have come to know about the Nirbhaya case.
03:38But apart from that, there are many such cases that are not in the media.
03:42I will give you an example of a case.
03:45In 2020, in May, in Lalitpur, a 15-year-old girl, who was called Chacha, her neighbor, was raped.
03:54When that girl said, we will tell you at home, she was burned alive.
03:58He burns himself alive in his own house.
04:00He is a strong man.
04:02The threatening issue is that at the time of the trial, the lawyer I did there, that lawyer is also not ready to stand.
04:09He is from Lalitpur.
04:11For that family, I advocated a lot to someone.
04:15I said, no, as a nation, as a citizen, this is not just a profession, we should work for social work.
04:22Then someone advocates for law, withdraws the next day.
04:26This much fear, you understand how difficult it is.
