Pelosi and Harris shared 'optimistic' conversations

Former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, said she had shared 'optimistic and decision-oriented' conversations with Vice President Kamala Harris, who is also the Democrat's presidential nominee.

Speaking to Channel 4 News, she refused to discuss talks she had with US President Joe Biden ahead of his withdrawal from the presidential race -- but insisted she had 'loved him for decades'. 00:00Well, I'm not one to divulge conversations of that private nature, but it was, shall
00:08we say, optimistic, determination, decision-oriented, to get the job done, to win for the American
00:17people.
00:18Did she also say the words thank you to you specifically?
00:22No.
00:23Now, why would she say such a thing?
00:26Because one could argue...
00:27We have known each other for a very long time.
00:28I know.
00:29You're both from the San Francisco area and so on, but I wondered if she might have said
00:34thank you to you, because it is widely seen that you were instrumental in persuading President
00:40Biden to step aside.
00:42Well, I won't get into that.
00:44In her public remarks, she expressed her gratitude for my leadership in passing the Affordable
00:51Care Act and saving the Affordable Care Act, with her commitment to even make it stronger.
00:57That was the best thank you of all.
00:59But the reason why I asked the last question was that it was actually President Biden who
01:03name-checked you, Nancy Pelosi, in an interview that he gave at The Weeknd, where he said,
01:08if I hadn't stepped aside, and I'm paraphrasing here, I would never have heard the end of
01:12it from Nancy Pelosi.
01:14No, I don't know.
01:16I didn't hear him say that.
01:18He said some of you all would be asking questions about that.
01:21I think that's the way...
01:22But your name did crop up, though.
01:24I have loved him for decades, our whole family, three generations of Pelosi's.
01:30So that's where I will leave that conversation.
