Who Will Win the Quarterback Battle for the Raiders?

00:00But we did finally get to see Vegas take on Minnesota yesterday.
00:09There is, it's one of the few teams this year where we're actually dealing with a legit
00:14starting quarterback battle right now.
00:18What is going on there?
00:19Do you win either way or is it a loss either way?
00:22Is it Minshew?
00:23Is it O'Donnell?
00:24What are you hearing there?
00:26Well, you know, I think Minshew certainly is the favorite to get the job there and that
00:31would be my choice.
00:32I'm not really thrilled with Aiden O'Connell and I'm, you know, honestly not really thrilled
00:37with Gardner Minshew either.
00:39He's a serviceable quarterback, but I mean, he did okay for the Colts last year.
00:44I just don't really see either of these guys as a NFL starter.
00:49I think they're both very capable backups.
00:52It'd be nice if you had a legitimate quarterback in there, a stud, a guy that was a top 10
00:57or 12 player in the league.
00:59I think, you know, either guy, Minshew or O'Connell, whoever emerges as the starter
01:05for the Las Vegas Raiders is going to be one of the worst starting quarterbacks in the
01:08NFL.
01:09You also have Antonio Pierce, who no longer is the interim coach here and you know how
01:14that is.
01:15He came in and he really grabbed that locker room and had some enthusiasm going and the
01:21Raiders finished strong.
01:22They went over their season win total.
01:24I cashed that ticket.
01:25I was very happy about that.
01:27But now of course he has been given the job.
01:31No longer the interim tag has been shed and I think that changes things.
01:35Now the good news is the Raiders once again come into the season without a whole lot of
01:39expectations.
01:41I think their defense has improved.
01:43I'm not sure about their running game losing Josh Jacobs.
01:46They have two outstanding tight ends, Brock Bowers, the newest addition, you know, out
01:52of Georgia with their first round pick.
01:54But there's not a lot on this roster that really jumps out at me.
01:58You've got Max Crosby and the other kid they drafted last year, I can't recall his name
02:02right now.
02:03A very good pass rusher out of Texas A&M if I recall.
02:07He didn't really do a great deal of work in his rookie campaign.
02:10I think he'll improve this year.
02:12I think the pass rush will be better this year.
02:16But, you know, and they could possibly finish in second in the division.
02:21The Chargers didn't look all that good yesterday and I know you can't take too much from preseason.
02:26I'm not so sure about the Denver Broncos.
02:28Is Bo Nix going to be the answer there?
02:31So you know, I think it's a battle for second place in the AFC West.
02:34It looks like the Chiefs aren't going to have problems winning that division once again.
02:40But the wise guys were all over the Raiders yesterday and I was like, why?
02:44You know, it seems like Minnesota is just being disrespected.
02:48Not only in that game, but also in their division.
02:52And I thought the home team catching points was the right side.
02:54If you bet the Raiders first half, good on you.
02:57If you took the Vikings for the full game, good on you as well.
