00:00One of the first things we did shortly after getting our hands on the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra
00:04was to test out its camera. We decided to pursue a more comprehensive camera shootout against
00:10the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Both phones handle portrait mode very well, making the differences between
00:15them harder to discern from a cursory look. The iPhone 15 Pro Max certainly has the truer-to-life
00:20colors, but it doesn't totally blur out my colleague's glasses as better than the Galaxy
00:25S24 Ultra, which you can see around his eyebrow. The iPhone's stronger dynamic range performance is
00:30again on display here when you look at how the stone pathways boosted to better tone out the
00:35exposure throughout the entire scene. This one's tougher because the iPhone 15 Pro Max seems to
00:40boost the exposure throughout the entire scene to make it brighter, but at the expense of the
00:44highlights. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S24 Ultra seems to be the opposite, preserving the highlights a
00:50little bit better, but by making the entire shot look a little underexposed. Apple's clearly boosting
00:55exposure in this clock tower zoom shot. The shadow areas are undoubtedly brighter with the iPhone,
01:01whereas they're better preserved with the Galaxy S24 Ultra, despite its darker composition. When
01:07the scene's dominated by a plethora of colors, it's really hard for us to choose a definitive
01:11winner. The floral shot proves this because depending on your preference, you could find
01:15any one of them to be the better one. The pinks, purples, and the reds all have vibrant tones,
01:20while the yellows and greens get enough saturation to balance out the shots.
01:24Overall, I think the iPhone 15 Pro Max is the sure bet winner.
