@Gocciedimemoria Richard John Parfitt (12 October 1948 – 24 December 2016) was an English singer and guitarist, member of the rock band Status Quo. One of the best rhythm guitarists in English rock, Rick Parfitt was the tireless sonic foundation of Status Quo's hard rock for almost five decades. A master of the three-chord line and blues-style offbeats, he had a decisive, powerful and vigorous style and, together with Francis Rossi, he managed to develop the crossover technique that was the true trademark of the band's sound. In recent years, the British media referred to him with the nickname "The W.O.M.O.R.R.", an acronym that stood for "The Wild Old Man Of Rock'n'Roll". Rick played mostly a white 1965 Fender Telecaster, restored several times and appropriately adapted and protected with a Badass bridge and more robust strings, thanks to which he was able to hit it vigorously and repeatedly according to his classic hard style, without ruining it. On December 24, 2016, at the age of 68, he lost his life at the hospital in Marbella following septicemia

Richard John Parfitt (Woking, 12 ottobre 1948 – Marbella, 24 dicembre 2016) è stato un cantante e chitarrista inglese, membro della rock band Status Quo.Una delle migliori chitarre ritmiche del rock inglese, Rick Parfitt costituì per quasi cinque decenni l'instancabile base sonora dell'hard rock degli Status Quo. Maestro nella linea dei tre accordi e nei tempi a levare in chiave blues, aveva uno stile deciso, potente e vigoroso e, insieme a Francis Rossi, riuscì a sviluppare quella tecnica ad incrocio che fu il vero marchio di fabbrica del sound della band.Negli ultimi anni i media britannici lo definivano con l'appellativo di "The W.O.M.O.R.R.", sigla che stava per "The Wild Old Man Of Rock'n'Roll". Rick suonava in prevalenza una Fender Telecaster bianca del 1965, più volte restaurata e opportunamente riadattata e protetta con un ponte Badass e corde più robuste, grazie ai quali riusciva a colpirla vigorosamente e ripetutamente secondo il suo classico stile hard, senza rovinarla. il 24 dicembre 2016, all'età di 68 anni, perse la vita presso l'ospedale di Marbella in seguito ad una setticemia
