00:00Rolling through in droves to restock the shelves of Victoria's Foodbank.
00:07When the organisation called for help, the community answered.
00:11I just felt it was important that we needed to help people out in need, especially when it's getting harder.
00:16I can afford to have food for myself, but there's lots of people out there that can't.
00:21The cost of living crisis is biting.
00:24Foodbank says it's getting fewer supplies, while seeing more people than ever in need of support.
00:3069,000 meals leave this warehouse every day.
00:34You've got families ringing us saying, we're going without food, to the point where now we're sending our kids to school without food.
00:41For us, that's where we have to raise awareness and call out on our community for help.
00:45And help they did, bringing the staples, cereal, rice, long life milk, pasta, sauce and canned goods like fruit, vegetables and tuna.
00:56Between members and friends, we've raised a fair bit of money and we thought we'd do a nice run in. Anything helps.
01:03It's the first time Foodbank has called on the community for help since the Black Summer bushfires.
01:09The organisation says the demand for the service has continued to only grow since then.
01:15This is middle class people. They are working one, two, up to three jobs. Food is the thing they are sacrificing to make ends meet.
01:24The emergency donation drive will continue tomorrow, and Foodbank is hopeful it'll make a difference.
01:31When you see the outpouring of care, love and food that's come out of this event, it can only get better from here.
