00:00Can you find a regular knife so we can do the interview?
00:02Oh, okay. Television's affable barfly norm.
00:07Welcome to Ms. Mojo, and today we're highlighting celebs
00:10you might be surprised to hear are related to each other.
00:12And we're sticking to close relatives here,
00:15so no sixth cousins or 15th uncle twice removed type scenarios.
00:18I did not realize that your great uncle was Robert Stack.
00:23Yeah, yeah.
00:24Is that true?
00:24Yeah, yeah.
00:25Are you?
00:27Number 30, Rob Schneider and Elle King.
00:30From 1988 to 1990, Rob Schneider was married to model London King.
00:34While the marriage didn't last very long,
00:36it was long enough for the two to have a child.
00:38The one and only, my daughter, Elle King.
00:42Born Tanner L. Schneider, the child grew up to be a singer,
00:45who you'll know better under the stage name Elle King.
00:48Sips and never pours it on me.
00:53King took her mom's maiden name in order to make it in the industry on her own merits,
00:57and boy, has she ever.
00:58A top 10 hit single and four Grammy nominations are nothing to scoff at.
01:03If you're looking for more connection between the two,
01:05check out King's acting debut as the Girl Scout in her dad's 1999 movie,
01:09Deuce Bigelow, Male Gigolo.
01:12Hi, would you like to buy some Girls of America cookies?
01:14Don't hit me with that.
01:15Could you come back later?
01:18Number 29, George Clooney and Miguel Ferrer.
01:21Some of you might be aware that George Clooney's aunt was famous American singer,
01:24Rosemary Clooney.
01:26What you might not remember is who she was married to.
01:28Rosemary tied the knot not once but twice with Puerto Rican movie star, Jose Ferrer.
01:38During their first marriage, they had five kids, one of whom was Miguel Ferrer.
01:43What are your prime directives?
01:44Serve the public trust, protect the innocent, uphold the law.
01:52That's good.
01:54That's very good.
01:55Yes, that Miguel Ferrer, the one who got his break as Bob Morton in 1987's RoboCop
02:01and played NCIS assistant director Owen Granger on NCIS Los Angeles from 2012
02:06until his passing in 2017.
02:09I'm gonna take an arm-fat latte with an extra shot.
02:14George Clooney and Miguel Ferrer, first cousins.
02:17Number 28, Christopher Lloyd and Sam Lloyd.
02:20While the name Sam Lloyd may not ring any bells,
02:23the name Ted Buckland will bring smiles of recognition to Scrubs fans everywhere.
02:27Bought some relaxation tapes.
02:31They're working.
02:33A patient's blaming me for losing his sense of smell.
02:37Oh God, you cut off someone's nose?
02:39Where is it?
02:39Do you have it on you?
02:41You're disgusting.
02:42Lloyd played the awkwardly endearing lawyer on the hit sitcom over a course of 95 episodes.
02:48And speaking of awkwardly endearing, let's talk about his uncle,
02:51maybe the most famous Lloyd of the 1970s and 80s.
02:54So, Jim, you coming along?
02:57Well, a little confused about something.
03:00Am I coming or going?
03:01Before his nephew could legally consume alcohol,
03:04Christopher Lloyd had already won two Emmys for his role as Jim Ignatowski on Taxi.
03:09He then went on to cement his place in movie history
03:11as Dr. Emmett Doc Brown in the Back to the Future series.
03:14My calculations are correct.
03:17When this baby hits 88 miles per hour, you're gonna see some serious s***.
03:23Number 27, Janet Leigh and Jamie Lee Curtis.
03:26While her last name Curtis gives away her paternal relationship to actor Tony Curtis,
03:31there are those who might not be aware that
03:33Jamie Lee Curtis also has her mother's name in there as well.
03:36Or at least a version of it.
03:38It's more on she doesn't like the way I dress and stuff, you know?
03:42No, sometimes.
03:42Mom stuff, you know?
03:44You see, the Leigh in her name is actually just an alternative spelling
03:47of her mother's maiden name, none other than actress Janet Leigh.
03:52Dirty night.
03:53You have a vacancy.
03:55That's right, the psycho scream queen birthed the Halloween scream queen.
03:59This mother and daughter even paired up to do some screaming in a couple of films,
04:02including Halloween H20, 20 years later.
04:05If I could be maternal for a moment, I don't like to see you like this.
04:12Number 26, Richard Patrick and Robert Patrick.
04:15How many people can say they're related to the T-1000?
04:18Well, we know at least one person, and that would be Richard Patrick.
04:27A former touring guitarist with nine-inch nails and frontman of the band Filter
04:31actually grew up with actor Robert Patrick,
04:33the iconic antagonist of Terminator 2 Judgment Day.
04:37Call to John now.
04:38It's pretty cool the two of them both ventured into the arts,
04:41albeit in different scenes.
04:43In one instance, their aptitudes would actually overlap when they came together
04:47to help compose the score for the 2017 film Last Rampage.
04:51Number 25, Rip Torn and Sissy Spacek.
04:54Fans may know Rip Torn best as Artie on The Larry Sanders Show,
04:58or maybe coach Patches O'Houlihan in Dodgeball, A True Underdog Story.
05:02You can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball.
05:05What?
05:11To Sissy Spacek, however, he was best known as a cousin.
05:14Torn's mother was the older sister of Spacek's father,
05:17which makes him and the Oscar-winning actress first cousins.
05:28While Spacek is still acting, Torn sadly passed away in 2019
05:32at the age of 88 due to complications from Alzheimer's disease.
05:36It was actually Torn who helped Spacek get into Lee Strasberg's actor studio,
05:40as well as the Lee Strasberg Institute further down the line.
05:44Number 24, Yara Shahidi and Nas.
05:46Actress Yara Shahidi was a child actor,
05:49but it was in her teen years that she saw her popularity grow with her role
05:52as the eldest daughter Zoe Johnson in Black-ish and its spinoff series Grown-ish.
06:03While her TV family made her famous,
06:06Shahidi also has some pretty famous actual members of her extended family.
06:16Most notably, Nasir bin Oludara Jones, who the world knows as Nas.
06:20The rapper and Shahidi are cousins,
06:22and it would appear that they're pretty close,
06:24as she was the flower girl at Nas' wedding.
06:27Nasir is half-man, half-amazing.
06:30I love you, cuzzo.
06:32Number 23, Vera Farmiga and Thaisa Farmiga.
06:35It would appear that screaming runs in the Farmiga family,
06:38at least when it comes to sisters Vera and Thaisa.
06:44Although born 21 years apart,
06:46Vera and the younger Thaisa both found their way to acting.
06:49Both sisters found success in different genres,
06:52and Vera was even nominated for a Best Supporting Actress Oscar
06:55for her performance in Up in the Air.
07:02However, it's their work in horror that they are probably both best known for,
07:06with each sister earning Scream Queen credentials.
07:09Vera is a mainstay of the Conjuring film universe,
07:12while Thaisa made her horror bones in four seasons of American Horror Story.
07:20Number 22, Gabrielle Union and Saweetie.
07:23Could you imagine if M.C. Hammer was your uncle and Gabrielle Union was your cousin?
07:27No, we couldn't either.
07:28But you know who doesn't have to imagine it? Saweetie.
07:31I love when she compares this industry I'm currently in to when she broke in.
07:36Born Diamante Kiava-Valentine Harper,
07:39Saweetie has made some major waves in the music industry in the 2020s,
07:43three decades after her uncle told us we couldn't touch this.
07:47As for her connection to Union, Saweetie's father and the actress are first cousins.
07:56Saweetie's grandmother and Union's aunt is also the person Union based her character Eva on
08:01from the 2003 rom-com Deliver Us from Eva.
08:04And then we went back to my place and had a nice respectable evening.
08:10And then we burned a hole in the floor!
08:14Number 21, Jason Patrick and Jackie Gleason.
08:17Jason Patrick grew up in an acting household.
08:29His father was actor and playwright Jason Miller,
08:31and his mother was actress Linda Miller.
08:33For our purposes here, what's even more interesting to note is Linda Miller's maiden name,
08:38Gleason.
08:39It's a name that has a special place in television history,
08:42as her father was the one and only Jackie Gleason,
08:44best known as the creator and star of The Honeymooners.
08:53Let's do the family tree math here.
08:55If Jackie Gleason was Linda Miller's father,
08:57then that of course makes him Jason Patrick's grandfather.
09:01Number 20, Marissa Tomei and Julianne Moore.
09:04Tomei and Moore both attended Boston University,
09:07both starred in the film Crazy Stupid Love,
09:09and have both won acting Oscars.
09:12But they also share something even more unique.
09:15On a 2019 episode of the PBS show Finding Your Roots,
09:18Tomei learned that she shares a quote,
09:20identical stretch of DNA along their X chromosome with Moore.
09:32For all the non-genealogists in the audience,
09:39that means Marissa and Julianne are genetic cousins.
09:42Insert your own My Cousin Vinny joke here.
09:44The news made Tomei very happy,
09:46and Moore later expressed her excitement on Instagram,
09:49saying quote,
09:50I knew we were alike.
09:52Marissa Tomei is my cousin.
09:53Oh my god, I'm so excited.
09:55Number 19, Stanley Tucci and Emily Blunt.
09:58Hollywood history is filled with stories of couples
10:01meeting on the set of a film and falling in love,
10:03but there are far fewer stories that involve actors meeting on set,
10:06one of those actors introducing the other to her sister,
10:09and then those two fall in love.
10:11However, that is how Tucci and Blunt became in-laws.
10:14Stanley worked with Emily on the film The Devil Wears Prada,
10:18and they became friends.
10:21That I can't even talk about.
10:24All right everyone, gird your loins.
10:26Then at Emily's 2010 wedding to John Krasinski,
10:29she introduced Tucci to her sister Felicity.
10:32Two years later, Stanley and Felicity were married.
10:35Number 18, Keira Sedgwick and Edie Sedgwick.
10:38It is well known that actress Keira Sedgwick
10:40is connected to Kevin Bacon matrimonially,
10:42as the two have been married since 1988.
10:53But what about her connection to one of the most iconic artists
10:56of the 20th century, Andy Warhol?
10:58Well, she was never married to the Campbell Soup-loving pop artist,
11:01but her first cousin once removed was none other than actress Edie Sedgwick.
11:05And Edie Sedgwick, as you may or may not know,
11:07was an it girl who appeared in a number of Warhol's
11:10short films back in the 1960s.
11:18Jonah and Beanie are actually brother and sister.
11:21No, they're not step-siblings.
11:23They have the same mother and father.
11:26This would probably make more sense
11:28if you knew that Jonah Hill's real name is Jonah Hill Feldstein.
11:31While Hill has become a pretty big deal in Hollywood over the last decade,
11:35his younger sister Beanie, whose real name is Elizabeth,
11:38has recently been gaining some recognition as well.
11:40She was part of the Screen Actors Guild-nominated cast of Lady Bird,
11:43and in 2019, she starred in Booksmart,
11:47earning a Golden Globe nomination for her performance.
11:50Number 16, Vic Morrow and Jennifer Jason Leigh.
11:53Morrow was an actor for over two decades in Hollywood from the 1950s through the 1970s.
11:58He appeared on TV in the show Combat in the 60s and in a number of films,
12:03including The Bad News Bears in 1976.
12:09Sadly, he was one of three people killed when a stunt helicopter crashed
12:13on the set of Twilight Zone the movie back in 1982.
12:16In case you hadn't guessed, Jennifer Jason Leigh is his daughter.
12:20She was born Jennifer Leigh Morrow,
12:22but early on in her career changed her name
12:24and added the Jason as a tribute to family friend actor Jason Robards.
12:29Number 15, Liev Schreiber and Pablo Schreiber.
12:32The story of how Liev and Pablo Schreiber became half-brothers sounds like a movie.
12:36Ray Donovan star Liev was born in San Francisco,
12:39and the family moved to British Columbia when he was just a year old.
12:42Liev's mother was hospitalized multiple times as the result of a bad LSD trip from years prior.
12:48Liev's father threatened to put her in a mental institution,
12:51so she took Liev and ran away.
12:53His father was finally able to track them down when Liev was three years old.
12:57His parents divorced a few years later, and his mother got custody.
13:06His dad went back to BC, remarried, and had another son,
13:10Pablo, who recently appeared in Apple TV's Defending Jacob.
13:14Number 14, Malcolm McDowell and Alexander Sadig.
13:18This familial relationship takes us all the way from Carova Milk Bar to outer space.
13:23Malcolm McDowell has had a great acting career dating back over 50 years,
13:27but is still maybe best known for playing Alex in A Clockwork Orange.
13:39What most people don't know is that his older sister, Gloria, who passed away in 2001,
13:44was the mother of Star Trek Deep Space Nine actor Alexander Sadig.
13:48You might also know him as Duran Martell on Game of Thrones.
13:51In case you're still trying to figure out the exact relationship here,
13:55Malcolm is Alexander's uncle. Like Ned Stark and Jon Snow, just much less confusing.
14:01Number 13, Lea Thompson and Zooey Deutch.
14:04Ed Sheeran isn't the only one who thinks that Zooey is perfect.
14:07We're going to assume that her mother, Lea Thompson, feels the same way.
14:11Lea and her husband, director Howard Deutch,
14:13welcomed daughter Zooey into the world on November 10, 1994.
14:18This was four years after the release of the third Back to the Future movie.
14:37The film series was Thompson's big break, and she rolled that fame into
14:41a starring role on Caroline in the City, which was must-see TV from 1995 to 1999.
14:47Her daughter Zooey is perhaps best known for her roles in Everybody Wants Some,
14:51Set It Up, and The Politician. And it looks like she's on the road to superstardom.
14:56Where she's going, they still need roads.
15:04Number 12, RuPaul and Cory Booker.
15:07Once again, we have the PBS show Finding Your Roots to thank for this familial discovery.
15:20RuPaul appeared on an episode of the series, and it was during that recording that he was told
15:24that he and Senator Cory Booker are cousins. Once you know this, it's hard to look at them
15:29and not see the resemblance. RuPaul claimed to have seen it even before getting the DNA
15:36results, saying, quote,
15:38Every time I've ever seen him, he reminds me of my cousin Eula.
15:41Both the Drag Race host and the senator from New Jersey had only good things to say about each other.
15:54Number 11, Larry David and Bernie Sanders.
15:58It isn't a requirement on SNL to be related to a person you do an impersonation of. In fact,
16:02that's pretty much never the case. As far as we know, Dana Carvey isn't related to George Bush,
16:07Tina Fey isn't related to Sarah Palin, and Alec Baldwin has no familial connection to Donald
16:12Trump. And in fact, when Larry David was doing his Bernie Sanders impression on the show back
16:17in 2016, he didn't know that they were related. But in 2017, thanks yet again to the show
16:32Finding Your Roots, both men learned that they were cousins. We can definitely see it.
16:49Number 10, Melissa and Jenny McCarthy.
16:51These women are actresses, comedians, and cousins. These two gals hail from opposite
16:59ends of the spectrum. Melissa's best known for her funny characters, and Jenny made a name for
17:04herself as a Playboy model and TV host. Today, the cousins both maintain steady careers in Hollywood,
17:11though their circles rarely overlap. Jenny has co-hosted Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve
17:16since 2010, and appears on Wahlburgers and Donnie Loves Jenny with husband Donnie Wahlberg. Melissa,
17:22meanwhile, won an Emmy for her role on Mike and Molly, and earned Oscar nominations for
17:26Bridesmaids and Can You Ever Forgive Me? The cousins' career paths may have diverged over
17:37the years, but they're cut from the same cloth.
17:48Number 9, Dennis Lawson and Ewan McGregor.
17:56Not only did both of these esteemed Scottish actors appear in Star Wars films, they're also
18:04uncle and nephew. To give you a refresher on that galaxy far, far away, Lawson starred as Wedge
18:12Antilles in the original trilogy, while McGregor played Obi-Wan Kenobi in the prequels. Lawson
18:21actually inspired his nephew to get into acting, and both their careers have spanned the big and
18:26small screens, as well as the stage. In fact, Lawson once directed a play starring McGregor.
18:46Neither's a stranger to accolades either, as Lawson won the 1983 Olivier Award for his role
18:52in the stage musical Mr. Cinders, and McGregor has received Golden Globe nominations and is an
18:57officer of the Order of the British Empire. These charming gentlemen are always fun to watch.
19:15Number 8, Lenny Kravitz and Al Roker.
19:22What could a Grammy-winning rocker and a famous weather forecaster have in common?
19:32They happen to be cousins.
19:40Kravitz's late mother, Roxy Roker, famous for her role on The Jeffersons,
19:44was Roker's first cousin, which makes the men first cousins once removed.
19:49Damn good.
19:50Roker's weathercasting career began in 1974, and he's since become a household name through
19:56The Today Show. He didn't stop there though, and he's made TV and movie cameos, co-wrote a series
20:02of murder mystery novels, and holds the Guinness World Record for the longest uninterrupted live
20:07weather report. On the other side of things, Kravitz is not only a successful musician,
20:23but also a seasoned actor, appearing in critical and commercial successes
20:27like Precious and The Hunger Games. Talent really does run in the family.
20:32You just want a good show, it's fine.
20:33Number 7, Nicolas Cage and Jason Schwartzman.
20:41Along with their director cousin Sophia, these cousins are part of the famous Coppola family.
20:46Cage is a critically acclaimed actor, whose performance in Leaving Las Vegas earned him
20:51an Oscar, a Golden Globe, and a Screen Actors Guild Award. He's also ventured into producing
20:57and comic book collecting. Schwartzman is best known for his work with Wes Anderson,
21:01and has additionally had notable roles in Marie Antoinette,
21:05Saving Mr. Banks, and Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.
21:18Like his younger brother Robert, who you might know from The Princess Diaries,
21:22Schwartzman is also a musician.
21:31He was the drummer for Phantom Planet, and is behind the indie pop project Coconut Records.
21:37It's pretty obvious that Cage and Schwartzman aren't just Hollywood royalty,
21:41but also gifted performers in their own right.
21:44He often comes and stays a week or more, three times a year at least, but never in the season.
21:48Number 6, Warren Beatty and Shirley MacLaine.
21:51I've known the longest a person, I've loved the longest on this planet,
21:54and always will, my brother Warren.
21:59These two are a couple of Hollywood's most acclaimed actors,
22:02and are actually brother and sister.
22:13Over six decades, Beatty and MacLaine have appeared in such iconic films as Bonnie and Clyde,
22:18Terms of Endearment, and Bugsy.
22:22With 20 Academy Award nominations between them, and almost as many Golden Globe nods,
22:29both siblings received Kennedy Center Honors, the Cecil B. DeMille Award,
22:33and the AFI Life Achievement Award for their outstanding careers.
22:38But perhaps most admirable, is the pair's lasting friendship.
22:42Only three years apart in age, they've always inspired and encouraged each other,
22:47and this close bond helped them achieve success.
22:52Far from a sibling rivalry, MacLaine and Beatty are a testament to the power of supportive family.
23:12This action star and prominent Scientologist may be one of Hollywood's biggest names,
23:17but there's another actor in the family.
23:21Then get the hell out! Well, I love America!
23:24Cruise's first cousin, William Maypother, often starred in thrillers and horror movies,
23:29including In the Bedroom and The Grudge.
23:32This will get easier soon. I promise.
23:35On the small screen, he's best known for playing evil doctor Ethan Rom on Lost.
23:40Charlie, I want her back.
23:42Maypother and Cruise have also appeared in five movies together,
23:45with Maypother's roles ranging from cameos like in Minority Report,
23:49to small roles in Mission Impossible 2 and Magnolia.
23:53What am I doing?
23:55Yeah.
23:59I'm quietly judging you.
24:01Whether they're kicking butt or scaring a silly,
24:04these cousins sure know how to keep us entertained.
24:07Relax, Luther. It's much worse than you think.
24:11Number four, Lily and Alfie Allen.
24:14It's hard, it's hard, it's hard out here for a bitch.
24:18This outspoken English singer and actor are brother and sister.
24:22Who'd have thunk it?
24:24Lily shot to fame in 2006 with the release of her debut album, All Right Still,
24:29while Alfie is best known for playing Theon Greyjoy on Game of Thrones.
24:33Can never hold it for more than a few days.
24:35As soon as Winterfell got word that we'd taken Torrens Square,
24:37the Starks would send their men to take it back.
24:39The siblings are so close, Lily even wrote a song about Alfie,
24:43delivering lines only a sister could.
24:53Lily has been known for her controversial remarks and feuds,
24:57but she's now much more focused on her family and charity work.
25:01So you've been trying to jump on lorries to get over into the UK.
25:06Has that, is that, that must be terrifying. Is that scary?
25:09Besides Game of Thrones, Alfie has starred in films like John Wick and Pandemic.
25:14Lily and Alfie have both received recognition for their work,
25:17including Grammy and Screen Actors Guild nominations respectively.
25:21Now that's something to smile about.
25:30Lily also has a famous cousin, Stay With Me singer Sam Smith.
25:39Together. Watch out for this cable.
25:44At first glance, the sketch comedy star and the host of Unsolved Mysteries
25:48might seem like completely different people.
25:51And yet, Taran Killam's great-uncle was, in fact, the one and only Robert Stack.
25:56No one knows how these enigmatic circles got there.
25:59Loaded gently from unbroken stalks of wheat and corn,
26:02they may just represent one of the most intriguing unsolved mysteries of the century.
26:06Stack's acting career lasted over 60 years,
26:09and he won an Emmy for his role as agent Elliot Ness on the TV series The Untouchables.
26:14That hood had a gun. You knew that, didn't you?
26:16Killam shot to fame as the youngest ever cast member on Mad TV,
26:20and is one of only four SNL stars to do over a hundred impressions.
26:24I'll see you at the polls and live from New York. It's Saturday night!
26:31Like his great-uncle, Killam has also taken to films,
26:34landing roles in Big Fat Liar, The Heat, and Twelve Years a Slave.
26:48Stack passed away in 2003, but his talent lives on through his great-nephew.
27:01My uncle, who's a George Wendt from Cheers...
27:03From Cheers, yeah.
27:04Yeah, yeah, Norm from Cheers, yeah, absolutely.
27:09When I told him, because I would send him the newsletter,
27:11because he was always interested in what I was up to with that stuff,
27:15he was like, well, Jace, I don't know if she would feel the same way.
27:19For these funny men, comedy is hereditary.
27:22Wendt is Sudeikis' maternal uncle, and you may know him for playing Norm Peterson on Cheers.
27:28Well, bars can be very sad places. Some people spend their whole lives in a bar.
27:33Just yesterday, some guy sat right here next to me for 11 hours.
27:38The two are tight-knit, and Wendt inspired his nephew to pursue an acting career.
27:43Wendt received six Emmy nominations for his iconic role, and even played Norm outside of Cheers.
27:48Woody, give me a beer.
27:50I think you've had enough, Mr. Peterson.
27:53My chiropractor says I can't carry you home anymore.
27:56Just give me another beer, you braindead hick!
27:59He also played Chicago superfan Bob Swirsky on SNL.
28:04Sudeikis was a longtime SNL star as well,
28:06and has since starred in dozens of shows and movies, including 30 Rock,
28:10Son of Zorn, Horrible Bosses, and of course, as the titular coach with a heart of gold, Ted Lasso.
28:16Oh, do you believe in ghosts, Ted?
28:18I do, but more importantly, I think they need to believe in themselves.
28:21Wendt has dabbled in theater as Edna Turnblad in Hairspray,
28:25and continues to act on the small screen.
28:28So, it's safe to say that with these two, there's never a dull moment.

29:01We all know how much Snoop Dogg loves gin and juice.
29:07But he is also quite fond of Brandy.
29:10Brandy Norwood, that is.
29:17Although they did collab on Snoop's 2009 song Special,
29:20the affection he has for her isn't strictly artist appreciation.
29:24Despite Norwood's dubiousness,
29:26Snoop himself as well as many outlets have reported that the two are cousins.
29:30Snoop has made the same connection to Ray J, who is Brandy's brother.
29:34And speaking of Snoop's cousins,
29:35another famous Dogg cousin is AEW wrestler Mercedes Monet,
29:39formerly Sasha Banks of the WWE.
